"At arrival, once semi unpacked in our room the A/C didn't work. Had to change rooms and it was a long day traveling by car. Also A/C was not working through out the whole hotel. Very disappointing as it was on the pricey side to stay there."

"Great stay. Petty Harbour room with private bathroom. Very comfortable bed and pillows. Loved the private bathroom with shower and Native brand shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Breakfast was a definite highlight during which the owner Rob offered recommendations and advice on the local sites, stories, and jokes a plenty. Fantastic location. Would absolutely stay again."

"We stayed at the hotel in the suites directly across from the main building. We were disappointed that the infinity spa was not available as advertised. We did have access to a large juzzazi tub in our room but it did not offer the same ambience we were wanting. The suites were clean but very outdated. A bar fridge was available but was noisy and leaked. We informed the front desk but no maintenance came to resolve the concern. We also required making calls to front desk to request more supplies...

"Liked: room size and layout; easy parking and access; closet layout. Clean Disliked: room fan/ac/ heat was impossibly loud making it difficult to sleep- hear the tv or even carry on a conversation. (Room 406) -1 for that issue. Desk staff were unhelpful and not typical of my previous NL experiences. Over a 4 night stay, we engaged at check in/out and 3 questions - they couldn’t care less and were of no help."

"There were a lot of problems between unhelpful staff & the musty dingy smell in my room.. but the straw that broke the camels back was my coffee machine in my room didnt work from the start, i had just driven 5 hours on the highway to get to my room couldnt even have a cup of coffee.. & when I brought it up with the staff they attempted to keep my $250 damage depo & didnt even replace the coffee maker.. don't book a room here even if you have no other choice .. tried to do something nice for...

"Stayed here for a week and booked the king size bed with city view. Good location, comfortable bed and clean room. The room had a small fridge which was useful. The weight room and the separate stretching area (looked like a converted squash court) have old equipment but it did its job. Will stay here if I visit St. John’s again."

"Wistful location and a beautiful room. Very large with a nice sitting area, decorated with a spa like touch. Very comfy bed, waffle towels and bathrobe. Local toiletries to make you feel connected to the area. Conveniently located across the street from one of the best restaurants in St John’s the Mallard Cottage. An authentic experience all around with a luxury touch!"
