This place is basic but beautiful in an amazing location. It offers great value for money, beautiful clean bedding, comfortable beds, great big fluffy towels and excellent hot water. Lots of heating in the bedroom and bathroom area, plus a cosy open fire in the lounge. Staff were really friendly and gave great local travel advice. I felt safe and looked after, even staying on my own. I was very appreciative of their kindness and hospitality.

The location was amazing and the closeness of the little Chook bike ride out the back really made my boys day!

The staff has been super helpful, checked in was super quick, attitude was good. The heater didn't work in our room and the guy (did not have the chance to get his name - guy on duty in Apr 5th around 6pm) immediately changed for us to keep our room warm (will give him 10 LIKE). Even its in the middle of nowhere, we enjoyed the quietness we have not had in the big city. An enjoyable stay!

Lovely comfy bed, pillows, and linen. Very clean bedroom. lovely (amazing!) bar food. Bathroom facilities could do with an update but they are fine. Good shower and hot water. Shared bathroom facilities. Kind of like an upmarket backpackers. Complimentary continental brekky. Very helpful and friendly staff.

Lovely pub - accommodation needs work
This is a lovely pub and a great base for exploring the area. The food was good and there is a wide range of beer and ciders. The sign behind our bedroom door said continental breakfast was an extra charge but on our second day we were told that it was included. The room was close to the industrial-sized waste bins which were overflowing and the smell and the flies coming in the unscreened windows made being in the room unpleasant.

Fab stay
Very friendly and accommodating staff. The food was very high quality too, lovely lunch and dinner. I was unwell on the Friday night and we were unable to drive up to make the booking. The Managers kindly offered to let me come and use the booking another time, really lovely of them!! The setting around the hotel is just beautiful.

Great county pub with good food and basic camping
We stayed in the "Hilton" room at the Weldborough Hotel for 2 nights whilst mountain biking in the Blue Derby trail network. With beds for 5 and basic amenities we were happy with the facilities for the cost. Staff we fantastic. Would have no hesitation in staying again.

Popular old country pub
Old but comfy country pub with great atmosphere, roaring fire, friendly staff and guests who all talked to one another. As a single female traveller, it was heartwarming. Room small, clean, comfy bed & shared facilities all clean and in order. Meals were very good and continental breakfast all laid out. .

Good clean room. Quaint refurbished old hotel, good food friendly staff. If happy to share bathroom good value hotel.

Mountain hideaway
The hotel is a bit dated but clean and very comfy. They double charged me (I paid hotels.co.uk upon booking and then they charged me again upon arrival.) I am awaiting their reply and refund, so if they do the right thing and refund me, then all is fine. If not, I will be taking further action. A note to others - there is no cell phone reception and no wifi, but the peace and quiet is very nice.

good in challenging circumsances
Very helpful staff in a quiet backwoods location. Weldborough hotel is quite isoated - in tnis isolated valley, there is no mobile phone signal,, even on Telstra. No GPS signal. But a desirable location for walks, mountain bukes etc.

Cold and expensive
Very expensive for what was less than a back packers. Heating was advertised as climate control when all it was was a very small oill filled heater that came no where near to heating the cabin in near 0 degree temperatures. Possibly the rooms in the hotel may be better. On the positive the food in the Pub was very good .

Remote Paradise
Situated in what feels like the middle of nowhere, surrounded by spectacular forest, the Weldborough Hotel greeted us with a big warm fireplace in the bar, great local stout, smiles from Emma at the bar and a view through sparkling clean windows into the green surrounds. Our room, although basic (as expected from researching on the web) was all we needed. A very comfortable bed with crisp, clean sheets, great heating in the room. Shared showers and toilets spotless. The visit was alike to staying with a long lost relative! Very homely.
