Upper Red Lake all season destination!

Open & airy beach front cabin surrounded by towering pines & cedar trees. Incredibly beautiful sunsets in the west every evening that cannot be beat. This lake is the first to freeze in the winter & thaw in the spring. Relax on the sugar sand beach, paddle boat, kayak or paddle board. Get out on the lake to fill your stringer with some of the best walleye fishing in the state! Bring your water skis, tubing gear, or jet skis to enjoy out on the lake. Take a break to go investigate the many beaches in the area that are sure to be a rock hunters paradise! Get your ATV/UTV out on the trails when you're out of the water. While you're riding, check out the Big Bog State Park for a little local ecology. Have your passport with? Take a day trip to Canada! In the winter months the lake offers more fishing from your heated fish house. Bring your snowmobile or snowshoes for a zip around on the lake or trails. Be sure to watch out for all of those stars, satellites, constellations & possibly a dancing show from the Northern Lights! A kitchen full of cooking utensils, bakeware, appliances & a Blackstone flat top grill will help you keep your stomachs content. Unfortunately have a bit of work to do? We have wicked-fast internet ready at your fingertips. Try your hand at the many different outdoor & indoor games we have available for making some treasured memories with your family & friends!

Cute clean well set up little cabin. Be it a summer family vacation or a winter ice fishing trip this cabin is great for smaller groups. The Kitchen has anything you'd need to cook or just go down to the resort restaurant if you want to take it easy. The out door fishing cleaning station is great for any fishing groups. Also the host is very responsive and fast to solve any issue. For us it was a small issue with the door code and within 10mins of me sending the message of the problem they responded with a fix and we were in and out of the cold! lol

My family and I were blown away by just how great this stay was. This was our first time using a short term rental for vacation, and we weren't sure what to expect. We all have heard about those disaster stays, lol. I have a feeling that we got thoroughly spoiled by this stay! It was above and beyond what we imagined. The hosts were great at communicating and just an overall joy to communicate with. The interior design is so cozy, and my family (me, spouse, 16yo girl, and 8 yo boy) had plenty of space. They have everything thing there you could possibly need, plus more if you forget anything. The beds are super comfortable. The kitchen is fully stocked with anything you would need to cook any meals, along with a grill outside. The firepit is great also, and stocked with firewood. The week we stayed flew by and by the first night we were already starting to plan a trip for next year when it is warmer to utilize the water more. I have a feeling this will become a yearly vacation spot.

Infested with Mice!!! We killed 11 of them, 6 are pictured below. There was also live 120v wires hanging outside on the deck just waiting for someone to touch it. One of my family members pants accidently brushed up against it and tripped the breaker. We tried looking for other options in the area to stay but couldn't find anything available.

It was the most perfect cabin I've ever stayed in. It has absolutely everything you can only think of. EVERYTHING! It is also packed with games, kayaks, SUPs, tea, coffee...i mean, grab your snacks, friends and enjoy. It exceeded all the expectations. We are so happy, i can't wait to go back in a winter time!

Nice location

This is a cute, clean little lake property with a small beach. The property manager was great and supplied a crib and high chair for us. The property had lots of extras for you to use. The reason I had to give it less stars is because you dont know till you get there that they restict sink usage and ask you to not use the drains. I am sure its better for the property, but not convenient for the vacationer. Overall, if you dont mind the water issues, its very nice.

Guys fishing trip

Guys fishing trip weekend was a blast in this cabin. We brought 4 wheelers and ventured out right from cabin 1-2 miles and caught plenty of walleyes. After a long day of fishing, it was nice to relax in the comforts of this place. Can't wait to come back.

Guys ice fishing stay

Great location and access to the lake for ice fishing. Cabin was clean and well equipped. Host was very responsive and helpful. Would definitely recommend to anyone who wants to avoid the resorts and have your own place for a few days

Outstanding getaway!

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our weeklong stay at Harold's Hideaway. It was clean, comfortable and well equipped for all our indoor and outdoor needs. Situated on the eastern shore of Upper Red Lake, this cozy cabin offered quiet solitude and wonderful lake views, including spectacular sunsets. The stars also were amazing! We sat and read on the beach, kayaked, hiked at Big Bog State Recreation Area, climbed the fire tower there, and caught some fish in a nearby river and pond. We also went on day trips to Lake of the Woods and Voyageurs National Park. Charlene was very responsive to the questions we had before and during our stay. It was a wonderful getaway, and we would highly recommend Harold's Hideaway to anyone looking to unwind and relax in a beautiful, peaceful place.

Family Vacation

Stayed few nights with the the family at Harolds Hideaway. Had everything we needed. Most meals we made on the Blackstone made it easy when came time to cook. The beach was beautiful, sand bottom to the lake. Spent a lot of time swiming and in the water. Brought our boat for tubing and water skiing. Over all was a great place to get together. Loved our stay.

4th of July cabin vacation

We loved our stay at the cabin! They had everything we needed and we enjoyed mornings on the beach with coffee, paddle boarding, grilling on the deck, watching beautiful sunsets and having campfires at night. It was super cute, clean and private. We watched fireworks on the beach over the 4th of July and loved it. We highly recommended this amazing getaway! Thank you!
