Great for families with kids!
We had a wonderful stay at Marley Beach with our two kids. The owner and property manager were communicative and helpful from before we left the U.S. They helped us get to the property and navigate around the island with ease. The house was great for us and our two young kids. The kitchen had everything we needed to eat at home and plenty of space for play and relaxing. The beach views and easy beach access cannot be beat. We were able to get to local beaches and sights with taxi or bus easily. I would absolutely recommend this property for families with kids! It is beautiful, comfortable, spacious, clean, well appointed and FAR more affordable than hotels/ resorts.

Paradise
This truly the perfect spot for an island getaway. The place itself is spacious, clean, and the kitchen is stocked with everything you need. I cannot say enough about the outdoor space. The patio is a great spot to have a cocktail and stargaze. The beach is absolutely gorgeous. We spent most of our time on the beach relaxing, watching the parrot fish, snorkeling and had a bone fire. Many days we had the beach to ourselves. My only two heads up are the steps to the beach are steep, but manageable, and the ocean can be a little rough. Other than that everything was perfect!

Beautiful Property in a great location
My family (kids aged 14, 11, 8) had an incredible time. The cottage was exactly what we needed, no frills but kitchen, 2 bathrooms, outdoor eating area and gorgeous views. The location was perfect, in the middle of everything with a bus stop right across the street. The only downside was it was very windy so we weren't able to enjoy the beach below (too rough) and for a few days we couldn't eat outside due to the high winds but this was outside of anyones control and didn't affect our great time! We below a fuse one night, losing all power, and the property manager had an electrian there within the hr to fix the issue, great service. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Awesome stay at the Sand Dollar
We stayed at the Sand Dollar in Bermuda the first week in April. The property was everything as advertised. It was clean and convenient to bus stops, and next to private Marley beach. Our host, Gordon, was terrific at helping us with everything we needed including advice on food, golf, and transportation. It was an excellent place to spend a week in beautiful Bermuda. I’ll stay here next time.

Amazing spot to stay!
Pictures and video don't do it justice. Amazing property, very thorough guide to the cottage included. Gordon was very helpful through out our stay. The central location is perfect for seeing both ends of Bermuda. Will stay again! Nothing but great things to say.

Five star PLUS review for the property itself, location, owner communications & guest help while on the island. My friend & I stayed here for a friends getaway recently and loved everything about it. There is a bus stop right at bottom of the driveway, which was perfect. Private beach was a one minute walk down the cliff steps, which are steep but very well maintained. A brief bus trip gets you to all the beaches and Hamilton. A tad longer bus drive to St. George side. Perfect amount of space for the two of us in the home, but could have easily accommodated two couples or a family with the bed layouts. My only advice if a guest plans to arrive late without a vehicle is to take advantage of the grocery delivery that is available or grab some of your “must have” items (for us, coffee in the AM) before checking in. Due to location, there’s no quick walking distance option for these items. Fortunately, we did order a few staples ahead of time and the property manager met the delivery and stocked the pantry with our items before we arrived. Amazing! Thank you for a lovely trip & property to enjoy Bermuda 🇧🇲 Also, get sushi at Pearl in Hamilton… you will not regret it! Delicious!

Great View, with Private Beach
This property, while being older, is well maintained and situated on a cliff with access to a very private beach. If you do not want to deal with crowds this is an ideal spot. Loved the view from above and being able to explore the beach areas below. One can walk around the rocks to the east (or climb over during high tide) and walk up the beach almost three quarters of a mile. Head the other way and you need to swim a few feet to a totally secluded beach located below a cliff. We were there in late November and there was great sand on the beach (we heard the hurricane pulled it out in October). Inside there is a leather couch and two leather chairs for comfort. The beds were also comfortable and the AC worked very well.

Great Stay in a Beautiful Location
We enjoyed our stay at Sand Dollar very much. The location was perfect (close to many great beaches) and the unit is very spacious and well designed. We really enjoyed waking up in the main bedroom which looks out over the ocean, and having a comfortable place to eat our meals inside and outdoors. We would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a 2-bedroom rental unit with all the basic amenities and then some.

We were greeted by our property manager, Gordon, and treated as if we were old friends. The accommodations were fine and the surroundings well maintained. A bus stop is located nearby, but a rental scooter or tiny cart is useful for grocery trips, exploring, etc. a return visit is anticipated.

In comparison to other places on the island where I have stayed in the past, the cottages had the most excellent views. The private beach was, as advertised, difficult to access and not recommended for anyone with mobility issues. Overall, I liked the cottage I stayed in but there were two issues that were a challenge. First, although its heavily advertised that there are charging stations for electric vehicles on the property we found that they were not equipped to handle 110v and therefore we could only charge one vehicle at a time (we had 2). On the first day we had no power at all but by the time we left the situation was in the process of being resolved. Too late for us, but hopefully the next guests will benefit. Secondly, and most important, and the reason for the two star rating on cleanliness was the problem with inadequate pest control. I have lived and worked in Bermuda and understand that flying roaches are pests endemic to the island. However, adequate pest control will keep them manageable. We found roaches and roach feces on the kitchen countertops and in the cabinets where the dishes are kept every day. This caused us to have to sanitize our dishes, cups and utensils everyday before using. To be fair, the property manager promptly responded to our complaints but the pest control product used took a few days to alleviate the problem and created even more roach feces on surfaces. This became a huge sanitary issue for us. We had originally requested inside pest control treatments be made and then changed our minds after we were given the price. Admittedly that was a mistake. However, we do feel that proper pest control should be the responsibility of the owner. In summary, although there were three of us in the cottage only two of us would stay there again, if we could be assured that better pest control measures were put in place. The third person (a doctor) was so appalled by the unsanitary conditions that she almost left to take a room at The Reefs hotel.

I have read Lynnette's review several times and appreciate her frank appraisal. She made some nice comments about the cottage and its view. Much appreciated. There were two concerns which she mentioned. Charging stations: There was a small weakness in the charging station set up which she kindly brought to our attention. It is not often we charge two Twizzies at the same time. However, the problem was rectified immediately. Inadequate Pest Control: Bermuda is a tropical climate. We have had a pest control system in place for several years and it seemed adequate. Lynnette's observations have given us cause to review what we currently do and what we can and should do going forward. Consequently, we have instituted a more aggressive pest control plan going forward. We thank the frank comments both good and not so good. It helps us to be better.

This property is in a beautiful location, with steps down to the private beach it is ideal in many ways. The property itself is quite modest and dated, but the rooms are large and airy with very comfortable furniture. It has pretty much everything you could need in terms of appliances: blender, oven, microwave. There are plenty of good walking spots nearby. The property feels quite remote as you can hardly get to anywhere without a car. There is one walkable restaurant Lost in the Triangle, but you wouldn't really want to walk that road at night. You really need your own transport to get around, otherwise you're getting taxi's to and from the supermarket (ofc you can get home delivery but this isn't ideal for picking up a few more beers - plan ahead!) The other thing with the beach being a private beach meant it wasn't really regulated. We had a problem with the Portugese Man o'war that were littered everywhere making a large portion of the beach unusable. Once they had died they rotted in their masses causing lots of flies making it far from ideal to want to sit down and relax on the beach. We did mention this and ask for the beach to be cleared to no avail. This makes it very hard to compete with beaches like Horseshoe bay that are very similar in loveliness but are constantly be cleaned up. This felt quite a big problem for us as a HUGE draw of this property is the private beach. Gordan was a huge help on arrival and drove me to the shop which was absolutely brill

Wonderful location with stunning views and beautiful beach.
Gordon met us on arrival and was responsive and helpful. We loved eating outdoors overlooking the ocean. The staircase to the beach is long, steep, and crooked so if stairs are difficult for anyone in your group, this is not the place. Having said that, we loved having the beach and ocean steps away. There is a fire pit on the beach which we enjoyed at night, listening to the waves and tree frogs and watching for shooting stars. This house is all about the location! Inside is as described and shown in pictures. We had a wonderful time and can’t wait to return!

Splendid Stay
Great stay at Sand dollar! Wonderful view and house suited our needs. Gordon was super organized and very friendly! The cellphone provide for on island service was such a great idea! Also it was so nice they provide beach chairs and umbrellas. I really do not think you can go wrong staying at Sand Dollar. Bermudians area very kind hospitable group. Also should note the Bermudian government and airport made getting covid testing as painless as possible. My biggest stress was getting the PCR testing back from CVS in time to get the Bermuda Travel Authorization approved.

Always the best
Marley Beach is the best. This was our second stay and we will be back. The cottages are well set up for an enjoyable stay. Great location with access to a private beach as well as Bermuda's many public beaches, trails at Southlands and the rail trail, buses, etc. Gordon efficiently handles all logistics and Andre was super for transport to and from the airport. We ordered food from Lindos via Dropit. Very efficient.

My husband and I "escaped" to Bermuda and were very comfortable in this modest, but extremely well-located house. The beach and views are just amazing. The house is older, hence my 4/5 overall, but the yard and beach make up for the lack of "fancy" inside. The owner, Stephen, and the manager, Gordon are incredibly responsive and helpful. I can strongly recommend them as hosts. We hope to return to Bermuda soon!

Excellent stay
The apt looks exactly as described or even more attractive. The views from the backyard are to kill for! We had a great time at the private Marley beach with no one to disturb us. Fantastic sunrises await you! The house had all the amenities as described and worked fine. Gordon was always responsive and helpful. We used a combination of bus and taxi which went well. Andre picked us up from airport and dropped off. Also arranged a 5 hr tour of Bermuda with him. Food is expensive in Bermuda, but the views are worth it. Thanks to Stephen and Katie for allowing us to stay here! It was great fun! Highly recommended!

Perfect beach location + great hospitality
Can't say enough good things about this little gem. From the start, Steve and his property manager, Gordon, helped with general info and answered my questions. This house (and related properties) are just steps from a beautiful private beach. Also steps from the public bus and walking distance to the Sizzle Pub restaurant. The house is well-equipped with kitchen utensils, basic cooking needs, beach towels, etc. Also, great wifi and TV channels. As far as general location, this house is also ideal. Smack in the middle of the island, its accesisble to the rets of the island. Ask Gordon for Andre's number - you can hire him to show you around the island.

Everything went as smoothly as possible...there were no hiccups! Steve and Gordon were both extremely easy to deal with! I would love to wake up every single morning to the fabulous sunrise and swim every day at the most amazing private beach....such a special place!!! Perfect home in Bermuda
We had a great trip to Bermuda. The house was perfect, the view could not be beat, the private beach was amazing and we enjoyed it everyday of our stay. We loved looking outside for little lizards (with my one and a half year old), listening for nearby roosters in the morning, and “swimming” in the tidal pools during low tide. This home is fantastic, the only issue was not with the home but if you do not rent a bike or small car it can be a little tough to get around by bus, we ended up mostly using taxis. When we go back without our little one we’d love to try a motor bike. Such a great vacation home. Thank you for sharing!

Blissfully Peaceful.
We enjoyed a seven night stay at Sand Dollar cottage on Marley Beach with our four young children and it was blissfully peaceful. My parents rented the one bedroom studio cottage next door and we enjoyed coffee and breakfast every morning together before heading out for a Bermudian adventure. Being able to lodge in a private setting, with the most spectacular view, access to the private beach made for an unforgettable week surrounded by sunshine, sandy toes and fresh air. We prefer to stay in a villa or rental house during our vacations given the ages of our children (all under 10 years) .. we used the gas grill a lot and had some groceries delivered upon arrival, we also packed an entire suitcase of prepared food knowing that groceries can be expensive on the island. Gordon offered five star service. Responding to emails within hours, answering all questions I had regarding specific excursions I planned for our trip. We were thrilled to discover that our cottages were positioned in the perfect location for what we loved to do most on the island, swim in the crystal blue waters and shallow lagoons with the kids. It was only a $9 taxi ride to our favorite spot, Jobsons Cove. We would love to visit again.

Lovely setting- with amazing views. Sunrises and walks on the beach were a great way to start each day, followed by breakfast on the patio. Spacious bedrooms ,lots of towels available. Bus stops very close which is handy for travelling around the island. Gordon was very responsive if we had any requests. What a beautiful island where everyone gives you a warm welcome- we certainly hope to come back!

Fantastic!
We had an absolutely fantastic experience and are very saddened to leave SanDollar cottage. We stayed for 6 nights - a family with two kids and grand mother. The location is perfect - only 10-15 minutes to Hamilton, right by the bus stop, 5 minutes to Warwick long beach with it’s wonderful beach coves. It is walking distance to Wizzle and Southlands park (which is a beet creepy but cool in a way). Gordon is so pleasant and friendly, very supporting and accommodating! We really appreciate his help! The house is very cozy and clean, had everything we could potentially need, even a small dishwasher, a gas grill and a washer/drier. Clean white sheets, comfortable beds, plenty of towels! Comes with a local cell phone which was a great addition to call for taxi and to reserve other activities. The view is breathtaking! Falling asleep by the sound of the ocean - priceless! We did not even want to eat out - we got the best lunch area right outside with the best view and privacy! The beach is just simply amazing and so much to explore when low tide! You could see fish swimming around the reef from the porch. The house had beach chairs, beach umbrella, boogie board, snorkeling equipment, some toys and floaties. My instagram feed exploded after I posted a few pictures and although I felt hesitant to share this gem, at the same time felt I have to let others experience this serene beauty! Thank you Stephen and Gordon for making this a memorable trip for the five of us three adults and 2 kids - a 4 yo and a 5 month old! We will be back!

Beautiful location..stunning sunrises.
The location of Sand Dollar was perfect for our family of four. The beach was quiet and secluded but not ideal for snorkeling as we had hoped. The sunrises never disappointed and the roosters crowing each morning during sunrise made it all the more special. There are a few things in walking distance including the Southlands Estate which we highly recommend with its stunning forest of banyan trees and private beach. Also the Swizzle Inn is not a far walk as well as a convenience store for some groceries. I would recommend having cab driver stop on way in from airport to pick up groceries. They will gladly wait - cab ride was around $60. Bus stop is at bottom of driveway going in both directions and was cheaper than a taxi but less predictable. Since you can't rent a car in Bermuda, the bus or taxi's are the only way to travel. Scooter rentals are available but not always practical. The home was just ok - not generally what we are used to in a home rental but what you are paying for is beach access and a fantastic view. Those two features were the star of the week and did not disappoint! All in all it was a great week and we would recommend this location. Bermuda is a beautiful island and the Bermudans were wonderful, amazing hosts from all of our experiences on the island. A Segway Tour at the Royal Dockyards was great, the Crystal Caves, and Jobson's Cove and Warwick Long Bay were all excellent and accessible by bus. Have fun and don't miss the sunrises!

Property sits atop a cliff over private beach and reef. Stairs down are manageable, even for 70 year old grandma a few times. We would love to come back and I've referred the place a few times to friends already. I'm sure the place is sold out most of the time given it's proximity and privacy. Lovely gem of a place! Gordon the caretaker was nice and available but only when needed. We made friends with the others staying in other houses on the property and just genuinely had a real great time. We had the beach to ourselves every day. Everything was as expected. There was some wear and tear to house, but no more so than any other beach rental. There is a washing machine and 1.5 million towels available. It was missing flat pans like cookie sheets, etc. but that is pretty much the only criticism that I have. It is within a 15 minute walk to a well appointed convenience store that has a lot of necessities, and right on the bus lines for the rest of the island. Honestly, I just can't say enough good things about it. Great location, great property, great people!

Fabulous view and beach!
This lovely, private property is best for guests that are in good physical shape. The driveway to the house and stairs down to the beach are steep. As some other guests have mentioned the house needs some repair and sprucing up. Gordon, the property manager, is extremely helpful. He meet us when we arrived and made suggestions regarding restaurants, shopping, and sightseeing options. Gordon was quick to get a repair man to the property when we could not get one of the stove burners to work. He really makes this house work. The property is on South Beach road where at the bottom of the driveway you can catch a bus to anywhere on the island.

The Perfect Vaca
Everything about this vacation rental was perfect, minus the amount of time we stayed! The description and pictures posted don't do the rental justice. It's nestled on the side of its own little cliff. There are other homes around, but we honestly didn't even notice. The view is spectacular. We sat outside, under the moon, every evening, and just listened to the waves crash on the rocks. It was secluded enough to feel like we were by ourselves, but also close enough to the city and bus stops to get anywhere we needed to go! The private beach was so close and gorgeous. It was exceptionally rough the week we stayed, but there were also 3 hurricanes out in the Atlantic. We didn't allow the 16 and 18 month old to play in the water at the private beach because the currents were crazy rough, but you're only a couple bus stops away from Horseshoe Bay, which was the perfect beach for kids, swimming, cliff jumping, snorkeling, etc! The beds were super comfortable. Although the kitchen was small and equipped with only the basics- it worked for us. We cooked breakfast and dinners most nights we were there. The grocery store is a couple bus stops away, or a $10 taxi ride. We bought all of our groceries from the Modern Mart and never went to Lindo's. Modern Mart had everything we needed.

Incredible location with access to a postcard beach
We stayed at Sand Dollar cottage for a week at the end of July. Upon arrival the cottage was very clean and was stocked up with the essentials, towells etc. The views from the main bedroom are breathtaking, from the living room not so much. However your in Bermuda so if you are spending time in the living room you are doing something very wrong. There was a nice patio area with incredible views of the ocean, this was kitted out with a pub bench to make us Brits feel at home and a gas BBQ which we used every night (if you do use the BBQ I advise you to let it heat up for half hour before cooking anything) Our overall stay was great, Gordon who looks after the place was very kind and helpful, you are literally a stones throw from a private beach, we used this every day and there was very rarely anyone else on there, the beach was stunning and the sea crystal blue. The property is a stones throw away from plenty of amazing beaches and there are also bus routes nearby that will take you anywhere on the island. You are about an hour walk from horseshoe bay which is nice, but rampacked with people, however you are even closer to Warwick long bay which was stunning and empty and a bit further on there are some lovely little coves and beaches. The only downside to the property were a couple of minor faults such as the door handle kept on falling off the door that leads to the patio from the living room. If this fell on a child's bare foot it could really hurt so I would suggest that this gets fixed asap. The showers were also terrible, no power at all. Also there is no handle on the mesh door that keeps bugs out the living room so opening it was quite tricky. None of the above would normally bother me as I'm very easy going, but when you spend $3500 for a week you expect everything to be fixed and working. To add to this, it wouldn't harm for the maids to maybe pop in every other day to tidy up and replenish the towels, at points I felt like I was back home with the amount of housework I was doing to keep it all nice. It's a holiday after all and one of the joys of a holiday is to relax and unwind, not to put a wash in and hoover the floor. Overall though, we had a great week and with a few tweeks and additions this would have been a 5 star review.
