The apartment is situated in a historic tenement building constructed between 1925 and 1929. During the Warsaw Uprising, the building played an important role as it housed part of the command headquarters and insurgents’ quarters. Numerous bullet marks still visible on the façades facing Żelazna and Chmielna Streets, as well as in the courtyard, serve as reminders of its wartime history.
