"We stayed this past week with our two dogs, and it was a wonderful family vacation. We stayed in the Blacksmith Cottage, which was fully-furnished with everything we needed. The kitchen was clean and well-stocked with pots and pans, and the oven and fridge were great to have. The bathroom was clean and comfortable. The grounds were quiet and seemed very safe - we did hear the trains a few times, but with a white-noise speaker and some soft earplugs, it didn't bother us or the dogs at all. If...

"I would recommend to anyone looking for a getaway! The hosts were just lovely! They were very informative and helpful all around!Check in was super easy! Fully stocked pantry and amenities! Kitchen was quaint and perfect for all cooking needs! I would go again! It was a wonderful time! Close to lots of great beaches! "What a unique relaxing stay enjoying birding, kayaking, stargazing, sunsets off the bridge and watching the kids capture crabs galore. We loved the quirky cottage with its amazing large wrap around window views. Donna and Mike are caring hosts, offering plenty of tips on the area when asked. The island is conveniently located close to Yorktown and not far from Jamestown and Colonial Williamsburg. The kids also enjoyed both Yorktown and Jamestown beaches during the stay. "

"Super friendly hosts! The little touches and details made all the difference. From the basket of towels and sandals for the hot tub, to the welcome book full of local food and fun, you can tell they really care if their guests enjoys their stay! "This cottage is exactly how it is described. It was very clean! The host was so nice and so accommodating. She assured us that we could walk all over the property and I certainly did. There were deck chairs on the dock and it was just so peaceful. We definitely want to come back."

"We loved the cottage! The bay was so close that even when you were inside you felt like you were on the beach. The sunsets were AMAZING. The neighbors were very quiet, the beach was private and the cottage was clean- leading to a nice, relaxing trip full of kayaking, fishing, reading on the beach and floating on the bay. Mathews area is our favorite spot due to the close proximity to groceries, restaurants and day trips. "

"Quiet,have the whole plece to myself. I feel safe since I am in a yard in someone's home. Light's come on when there is movement around the home.The RV is clean,spacious. It is nice and cool since it's pretty hot outside. Great shower,water stays warm. There wasn't any cooking supplies or pots/pans. The oven/stove is not turned on but the microwave and refrigerator are working well."
