"Great location, nice beach area with fire pit. You might want to bring an axe for kindling. The upstairs loft has steep stairs and a low ceiling. If you're tall or have mobility issues you'll find it a bit challenging. Hammocks would make a great addition. Overall it's a cool, little cabin on Kootenay Lake."

"The Bear Den was the perfect accommodation for us. Beds were very comfortable, kitchen was fully stocked with dishes, pots/pans and appliances. It felt like a second home! Location was a short drive from Nelson but we appreciated the quietness and rural vibe. There was plenty of parking for our two vehicles. We would love to stay here again!"

"Lovely property with a fabulous view! Plenty of space and rooms were well separated allowing for privacy. Found everything that we needed for a one week stay. I was worried that because it was not air conditioned we would be too hot as they were calling for temperatures in the mid 30’s. In fact it was not an issue. Lots of fans in the house and by opening up the windows each night (the windows are all screened), and then closing them during the day we were very comfortable. The owners...

"Claudia was a lovely host and the premises were superb. Enjoyed the property and proximity to the lake. It is somewhat removed and off a busier road which makes it isolated and a solid drive to get any additional groceries or to get into town. Not an issue, but something to be mindful of. The cabin was well equipped and very clean. Big plus is the great deck and that it’s pet friendly. Would stay there again and recommend it to others. "

"Beautiful view! Cozy house with all the amenities - appreciated the smart TV on a rainy night. The driveway down to the house was a bit rough for a small car, ended up parking at the top after the first night. Inside, everything was very clean and tidy. "Plenty of room. Great views. Fabulous private beach. Water warm enough in August for swimming.Craig gave us a recommendation for renting a boat from Jones Brothers rentals. We had a great time in a pontoon boat. They came over to Riondel marina to pick up our captain.Over the years, we have rented a out a dozen places for or gatherings. The was definitely in the top 3."

"I was looking for a place to spend a couple of days to take a break on while traveling on business & this was a perfect place as it was quiet area. We spent most of our time out on the deck & enjoying the creek & nature. The cabin was clean & well stocked & would highly recommend staying here & will defiantly plan on coming back."
