"Staff excellent. Setting beautiful. We stayed in the old house which had real charm, but was a little tired. Beyond the historic house is a conference centre, with spa. We ate an evening meal in the 1744 restaurant which was well priced and very tasty. "

"I felt comfortable soon has i walked in staff where lovely, the only thing was they had a power cut for 12 hours and it was pitch black in the bedroom i know its not there fault but i have a walking disability which i try to keep to my self. But other than that i have had a fantastic stay."

"A lovely old world pub, the highest in Britain. Lovely ambience, cosy bar areas and nice rooms. Just a few scruffy areas like the carpet going up to the accommodation and the ceiling and floor of the bathroom sliding door area. However it is understandable with being a busy pub with people with work boots and walking boots constantly in and out. The food was good, with lots of choice and well cooked. "Room was large, big bathtub. One corner of the room had moisture damage, and mold, perhaps from a roof leak or condensation. Pub was cosy. Food tasty. There is nothing else to do in Sandhutton. A critter scampering, and chewing in the attic above our room kept us awake most of the night. "

"I was a walker arriving at the Nag's Head at 15.30. I was warmly received and shown to my very comfortable room. Although the restaurant was closed on a Tuesday evening, i was provided with a wonderful Chinese meal at a very modest cost. I requested a continental breakfast which was fine. Pick Hill is a lovely small village with a long history, some of which is displayed in the ancient church. "
