Traditional flagstone flooring, a range-style cooker and an earthy colour palette in the quaint kitchen set the delightful country-cottage tone of the whole home. The generous dining room maximises natural light whilst the roaring open fire, exposed ceiling beams and touches of nautical decor in the homely lounge perfectly reflect Cornwall’s rich history and maritime heritage. Boasting board games, darts and table football, the games room is the perfect spot to let off some steam before bedtime. On the top floor, three delightful bedrooms await, one en-suite double and two twin bedrooms, that feature more gorgeous ceiling beams and plenty of sunlight. Outside, the enclosed patio garden provides the perfect spot to dine alfresco with your morning coffee or with a glass of something chilled at sundown.

Nestled in the wooded valley of Little Petherick Creek, with its historic 14th-century church and old granite cottages, Little Petherick is as picturesque as they come. Following a disused railway route, cycle or stroll along the Camel Trail (3 miles), an 18-mile-long trail following the Camel Estuary from Padstow to Wadebridge before joining the beautifully wooded Camel Valley to Bodmin. Synonymous with Rick Stein, pick up some of the area’s best local produce in the harbourside fishing village of Padstow 3.5 miles away before sailing the River Camel on the pedestrian ferry to the quaint town of Rock, renowned for its fabulous sandy beach.
