Great girls weekend spot
I met my 8 girlfriends from college in central Kentucky. The Havilah House was the perfect location for keeneland and bourbon tours and halfway between the bluegrass and Louisville airports. The house is comfortable and well stocked. The host was very responsive and answered our questions quickly. I would highly recommend it.

Perfect location!
A great place to stay for a family get together. It was a great place to call home for the week. I was able to get some beautiful photos of the surrounding country side and some great family photos inside! The front door key did not work so we had to go in and out through the back door but that was not a biggie. Dual HVAC and Instant hot water was great! We would definitely stay there again.

Great stay!
My husbands 50th birthday trip to visit bourbon country. Son and fiancé came from one coast and brother and wife from another coast. What a great property to enjoy cooking meals in the gorgeous kitchen, relaxing on the big porch and just being able to enjoy time together! Hosts couldn’t have been better!

Great house, easy access to the Kentucky Bourbon Trail!
Four of us stayed here for three nights while working our way through the bourbon trail. The house was in great shape, the bedrooms were comfortable, bathrooms clean and spacious and there were even some snacks provided in the kitchen! I would definitely recommend this house to anyone staying in the area.

There are 8 of us … brothers, cousins, etc. and we’ve been coming to the Louisville/Lexington area for three years now and this was, by FAR, the best property we’ve stayed at. The house was clean and inviting and we had everything we needed to make it a great experience. We’ll definitely be back …

Vacation in Kentucky
The house was absolutely beautiful and clean. We liked the extra touches such as the snacks, games, bathroom soaps/shampoo. Having access to a hose for the kids to have a sprinkler/pool was great. We really enjoyed all the extra touches. The only concern was the 4th bedroom. It was listed as being in a common space with a queen sized bed. It never mentioned that it was a pullout bed (not really comfortable) and you had to walk through the room to access another bedroom.

Country living
This is a great property if you want to get away from it all. We were doing the bourbon trail and it was a perfect location to many popular distilleries. There was a nice outdoor patio with a dining table and grill, which made it perfect for evening dinner. There is a massive kitchen with bar seating that allowed everyone to gather while meals were prepared. Nice big screen, television as well, who wants to watch TV when you’re out in the country. Across the road is beautiful rolling countryside right out of a Grant Wood painting.

Fantastic Place to Stay
Thank you to the hosts for a wonderful location and house! We used it as a home base for our 13th annual Harley Trip. This place was easily in the top 3 if not the top place we rented for these trips! Communication with the hosts was quick and very helpful. The location is wonderful for visiting distilleries, so many within a close distance. The listing does not lie when it says it's in the middle of Bourbon Country. The AC kicks butt! The back deck is awesome!! The amenities are awesome! This place was the first time it felt like a home and not a rental. When we come back to the area again, we will rent this house again! Thank you for having us!

Nice, but had some issues
The house was really nice but the AC went out. They scheduled a repair, but they weren't able to fix it. An unexpected issue like that is hard to avoid, and they did apologize. But no discount was offered, so i had to dock them for that. The house isn't very easy to get to. Also, there are no blinds and a lot of windows, your in a fishbowl. However, the location is pretty remote, so take that into consideration.

Hello James, We always hate to hear that a guest was less than satisfied with their stay. This house in particular has 2 hvac systems and one of the systems was having. a part replaced but still worked, the other system was sufficiently cooling during your stay, so I was unaware that you thought there was no AC at all, when both systems were still operating. Also, most rooms in the house, definitely all bedrooms/bathrooms, have roman shades and curtains both. I am surprised you felt uneasy. This is a rural property with hardly any neighbors and we love the views and scenery. W have yet to have a complaint about no blinds in the front areas. GPS brings you directly to our home, we have exterior photos in the Check In Instructions tab and turn by turn directions located within the app so I am unsure on how to make that better work? Please share any ideas you have as we always expect a great stay from all of our guests. Take Care, Kelley & Robbie

Beautiful place with great location
The place was awesome, we had a great time. The fire pit ran out of propane and they brought more out to us which was perfect. Thanks for the stay!

Time to breath
No words to describe this place, it is amazing. We loved being away from the traffic of the big city. It was nice sitting on the back porch and watch the sunrise and sun set and listening to the birds and watch the deers. Thanks to Kelley for the Derby cupcake she left for us.

We couldn’t have been more thrilled and excited about your property!!! Everything was perfect with this house … modern farmhouse updated and decorated to perfection, the beds were soooo comfy, the house was so well stocked for all of our needs, the back porch complete with fire pit set in such beautiful country … it was all so amazing and we thoroughly enjoyed every minute - thank you so much - it is such an amazing property and you were awesome hosts!!!!!

Family weddings can be stressful, but coming back to this very lovely and inviting property was so soothing. All the amenities you could ask for - they have thought of everything. Peaceful and relaxing!
Loved the Havilah House! It was close to all the places we wanted to visit in Kentucky. We watched a deer and fawn every morning and evening out the back deck. We will definitely return!

We had a lovely experience staying at this property. It was clean and the neighborhood was quiet. We spent our days touring distilleries and tasting bourbon. It was the perfect location for our chosen activities. The only recommendation we would make is that it would have been helpful to have a toilet paper holder and towel rack in the bathroom upstairs.

Tour of Kentucky
Nice location for us as we toured all around Kentucky. Very comfortable. Host was quick to respond. We enjoyed seeing all the deer, turkey, and rabbit off the back porch. Snow was a bonus for us florida people.

House was amazing. Beautifully decorated. Lots of space. Our family spent a wonderful Thanksgiving break at the home. Kitchen is HUGE. Would highly recommend.

Great house and perfect for our plans for the bourbon trail!
The house was very remote, which the 4 of us guys actually loved, but it might not be for everyone if you prefer nearby amenities. It worked perfect for us though, the house was big especially for the rental price! The kitchen had everything we needed and the family room TV worked great. Didn't notice any problems at all and the house was very clean! The master bedroom downstairs is enormous and the 3 bedrooms upstairs had plenty of beds! The only confusion was the title 4 bedrooms but below in details it says 3+ bedrooms. The 3+ is more accurate. They are really 2 bedrooms upstairs and between them is a 3rd room that has as pull out sofa that could be used as a 4th bedroom. Overall though it mattered none to us we really enjoyed our stay especially with the close proximity to distilleries which was the whole point of our trip! We would stay again to visit the distilleries and have a great house to sleep in every night.

Perfect house outside of town in a quiet area.
Stayed here with friends for the weekend to attend the Keeneland fall race and visit distilleries. Loved the location being away from busy roads and noise. The house was spacious, had all the essentials we needed for cooking and grilling, and has multiple tvs throughout. Very pleased with everything, would recommend to anyone looking to visit the area.

Perfect getaway
This home is comfy country living. My family enjoyed the views. Kitchen was perfect for our family to gather. Online descriptions do not give the home justice as when you walk through the front door you get that welcome home feeling. This will be our go to rental when we travel to Kentucky as it fit all of our needs. Home owners are very responsive and some of the kindest people I've had the chance to meet.
