La Bricola Terrace Apartment
Come and chill out at our cute Castello condo! –
A fuss-and-frills-free zone with a clean-cut appeal (plus a spacious terrace to boot :) in the very heart of town!
Close to the lively Campo San Filippo & Giacomo moments from St. Mark’s Square, yet perched up on high above a maze-like setting where 4 ancient little alleyways meet in near silence and the crowds of the Piazza have gently petered out, the air-conditioned La Bricola sleeps up to 4 guests in easy-living accommodation on the 3rd floor reached by stairs*.
Designed for those who like their Venice well-groomed and contemporary, its location allows guests to be as active as they please!
Handy for the Biennale at Arsenale & Giardini and for discovering the many faces of this multi-faceted and fabled town, the cosy and compact 2 bedroomed La Bricola offers Wi-Fi, a washing machine and the essentials of home.
Boasting honey-hued parquet flooring in all its main spaces, accommodation comprises:
· An attractive open-plan sitting-cum-dining room with whitewashed walls decorated along a fishy theme courtesy of its eye-catching ‘shoal of fish’ wall art, a double sofa for snuggling up in front of the TV, a modern dining suite for 4 set beneath a series of botanical verdure prints, and a fully-glazed double door to the side leading out onto…
· A fabulously spacious furnished terrace offering a characteristic red-tiled roof-scape, a north facing aspect (so rather more shaded/cooler in summer), and of roughly similar dimensions to the main sitting/dining room indoors!
· A neat and well-equipped fitted kitchen in white - also with a fully glazed double door leading out onto the terrace and so ideal for serving breakfast, drinks and nibbles in the fresh air
· A pristine master bedroom to the side in pared-back style with a double bed, ample wardrobe space, a pair of windows looking onto the terrace and home to the Venetian wooden bricola** which gives the apartment its name
· A slightly smaller 2nd bedroom on the opposite side of the apartment, presented in a similarly relaxing and low-key style to the master and with a double bed and chest of drawers for storage
· La Bricola’s bathroom, shared by the 2 bedrooms and accessible via the main sitting/dining room, with modern white fittings and a large shower
* Although well worth the effort, please be aware that there are a number of stairs to climb to reach the apartment - and no lift!
** The Bricola/e – The enormous wooden poles that indicate the waterways for boats in the Lagoon
OUR COMMENT
A charmingly bijou bolt-hole - modestly attired - and with a terrace that would put many others in the dark!
Close to a host of famous sights and attractions including the atmospheric Venetian time-capsule that is the Querini Stampalia, the fabulous Palazzo Grimani just off Campo Santa Maria Formosa, the Church of San Zaccaria with its wonderful Bellini altarpiece, and to Vivaldi’s La Pietà …
