This suite was nicely located south of downtown just off a main road making easy access to the city. Hosts were available, communicated promptly, and had good info for the area! Nice little outside area to sit and / or eat. Suite was comfortable, with enough space for all five of us. Only, hard to change, issue was the shower is very short. Would recommend to others !

Was everything we wanted and needed for a five-night stay. Owners live upstairs and were readily available for questions and dining recommendations. Clean, comfortable beds, enough space, nice little outside area, great selection of restaurants, grocery, and liquor store in walking distance. Just don't try to turn left onto Granville Street. 😜 Surprisingly quiet for being on busy street. A few lower ceiling spots as others have noted, including shower, but manageable.

extremely convenient location
Harvey reached out to us with driving instructions days before we arrived. Very appreciated. A short taxi ride of ~CAD$50 took five of us from the airport to the house. Harvey and Jen welcomed us into the first floor of the house, where we stayed for 4 nights. The location was excellent, extremely friendly for people who love walking around, 1) a few steps to a bus terminal and easy access to a few bus routes. We took buses everywhere the first 3 days of the stay 2) many interesting and good Asian restaurants nearby to choose from. Red star seafood restaurant is particularly amazing. 3) Safeway, a local Chinese grocery and a number of little spa shops nearby 4) a very green neighborhood with big trees. Hawk watching at the end of the street was a new hobby I developed during the stay. The laundry suite is outside, which we only used once during our stay. The drier worked intermittently. There's also a restriction on how many time you can launder per day. It doesn't bother us. The place is very clean, and at least half above the ground. It does occasionally smell a bit of basement when one just entered it. Floors are a little creaky, especially at night, but we are all sound sleepers and so no issue for us. We only saw one spider during our stay and so I wouldn't consider the statement true that this place has bugs. Beds are very comfy, even the makeshift sofa ones.

Brown Family visit
Jen and Harvey are fabulous hosts and their garden suite was perfect for our family visit. We slept great! the location was centrally located! Enjoyed many great meals in the outdoor dining area. thank you again to jen and harvey!!

Nice appartment for 5-6 people
Very nice hosts and a very individual souterain appartment. Only be aware in case you are taller than 1,80m that the ceilling is max. 2m high and inside the bathroom even less than that. That really makes it a challenge for tall people.

BMO 1/2 Marathon
We stayed at this address for the BMO 1/2 Marathon that some members of our family were participating in, ease to get to transit was a bonus. Short walk to a great green space & playground for the little ones. Only downfall in the accommodations was the ceiling height, you had to remember to duck your head in a couple spots, otherwise we found it to meet our needs.

Friendly, clean and great location
Harvy and Jennifer were very nice, they even helped us with a problem with our rental car. Everything clean and in order Our trip had had many problems and Jennifer was so empathetic that she even took us to a nearby restaurant for dinner while Harvy waited for the mechanic outside the house. All this in the middle of a pertine rain.

Great place, exactly what we were looking for. Lovely hosts.
Had a great time at the property, close to lots of good food, close to lots of good trails to walk/hike, and just a short drive to downtown for some night life. Wonderful hosts, cute dog was definitely a plus!!

Christmas in Vancouver
The property - was in a great location for our visit as we were central to where we needed to be. We had 2 adults 4 kids and a dog. The property worked great for us and goats were very helpful.

Basement Suite in South Vancouver
Nice place. Nice location, however as it was a basement suite in an older home, we could clearly hear the activity upstairs, the floors squeaking and the toilet flushing, and it was very difficult to sleep. The ceilings are very low and the shower head was extremely low as well. The toilet wasn't cleaned properly.

Just what we needed
My husband & I plus our adult son with his 2 dogs were so appreciative of having a level entry (no stairs) 2+ bedrooms to stay while attending a celebration of life for my mom. The dogs are very old with arthritis and could not be left with anyone & can't do stairs Our Hosts live upstairs so were always available but not intrusive. Arrived later than expected due to terrible weather/drive. So we were all a little cranky. Our Hosts were most gracious. Beds comfy. Kitchen & bathroom nicely updated. All the mod cons. Yes..Our son is over 6ft so ducking your head required at some low ceiling spots. Otherwise...we couldn't have asked for a better fit

Comfortable and Convenient Van home base
This property comfortably accommodated 3 adult sons, one girlfriend and myself with ease. The location is perfect - close to the places we wanted to go, and plenty of shops and restaurants within walking distance. The suite is beautifully decorated, but a little quirky (which we loved). And the ceilings and shower are in fact as low as others have described! Most importantly, Harvey and Jen are warm and welcoming hosts. They are friendly, relaxed and full of helpful tips!

Great Vancouver Property
We had a great stay at Harvey and Jenn’s property. They were very hospitable and have a very nice place for a family. We were 4 adults and 2 kids with plenty of sleeping space for all of us. The location is perfect. Close to the airport and a short drive to many Vancouver tourist destinations!

Perfect for us!
We needed a location close to family in Vancouver and found this perfect spot just minutes away! Location was excellent! Close to several restaurants, food stores and amenity shops! The hosts were welcoming, gracious and very accommodating!

A Wonderful Stay & a Great Location!
This place was the perfect accommodation for us and we highly recommend it. Harvey and Jenn were welcoming hosts and very informative. The spacious, quiet and comfortable garden suite not only met our needs, but our dog’s as well. He was able to step outside easily and pick his choice of walks such as the greenway, the various parks (there is a wonderful off-leash dog park) or the quaint neighbourhood streets. We especially appreciated being able to walk to the grocery store and a variety of restaurants. The home is older, so some creaks can be heard and there are a couple of spots where the ceiling is low, but neither of these things bothered us. We would not hesitate to stay at this property again.

Dave, Donna and their family were fantastic guests. Accomodating, cheerful and very respectful of our property. And they were always happy to listen to our jokes! Highly recommended and would rent our space to them anytime!

Great location and hosts!
Close to bus routes, shops and restaurants. Parking is not a problem. Suite was clean and comfortable. Hosts were very nice! They were easy to contact and helpful if you had any questions.

Jumping Off Into Vancouver
The four of us came to experience Vancouver, and for that the apartment worked well. We didn't do any cooking (though we could have for the kitchen seemed well equipped). The apartment is on a busy city street with heavy traffic and in the midst of many small Asian businesses. The side streets seemed to be quite safe and the homes nicely cared for. We parked our rental car on the street overnight without any problems. We ate at a Chinese restaurant and a Pakistani restaurant, both across the street. Wonderful food. The apartment is great for a jumping off place to tour the sites of Vancouver, though probably not the place to settle in and spend a week living on site with little traveling. So it depends upon what one is looking for. For us, it met our needs - basic, comfortable beds, a TV that worked, and close to the airport. Harvey and Jennifer were most gracious and willing to help in any way we needed. For what we were looking for, I'd stay again.

Really lovely accommodation. Lots of space for our family of 4 and very convenient for the bus for downtown Vancouver. Lots of restaurants to choose from just over the road if you don’t want to eat in town. Harvey & Jenn were very helpful and answered all our questions immediately. We had a great time.

Great location!
Property is located very conveniently to the airport and much of Vancouver. The neighborhood has many interesting restaurants and a nice grocery store close by. The property itself is well laid out, and has all of the necessary amenities. This is the lower half of a residence (the owner lives above), and the ceilings are very low. Very tall people may have some trouble negotiating the kitchen and bathroom areas. Our family is short (5'7" and under) and were very comfortable. The owners are very friendly and helpful. Great communication.

This was a great place to stay. Very clean, lots of room, and in a great location. Only 10 minutes away from downtown. Harvey and his wife were very friendly and offered suggestions on places to see around Vancouver. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

Basement property, owners very helpful and apartment decorated with personal touches
Our hosts were very welcoming and ready with useful local information. The apartment was clean and comfortable, with personal decorative touches. The ceilings are low, but my 6 foot son managed okay. The apartment is situated about 20 minutes bus ride from downtown. The bus service is very good with the number 10 stop a few minutes walk away. It comes about every 10 minutes. There is also a good night service. There is an outside area where you can sit. We would recommend this property.

Harvey and Jenn are awesome! They make you feel at home!
We had a great time during our stay at Harvey and Jenns. The only down side is that my son and his friend both are over 6'2'' did not fit in the suite very well. I am 5'11" and had no issues. The suite was clean, well appointed, beds were comfortable and you could not ask for a better location! We were close to everything! Make sure to take a stroll in the neighborhood, the homes in the area are stunning! When I return to Vancouver, I will be sure to see if this lovely garden suite is available!

Lots of space compared to a hotel.
We really enjoyed our 3 night stay. The apartment had 3 bedrooms, a living room area, a kitchen, and an eating area. We were a family of five and to get all that space for the same price of a hotel was a big bonus to us. Located on the edge of a neighborhood just outside of busy downtown Vancouver, we were just a short drive away. We would definitely stay again in ever in the Vancouver area. Harvey and Jenna were great hosts and answered many sightseeing questions and gave suggestions.

Comfortable and convenient get-away apartment
Great location even without a car. Public transportation right across the street, supermarket nearby and quite a good Chinese restaurant across the street. Apartment was clean and well-stocked, owners are very friendly and offered helpful suggestions. My only caveat is if anyone in your party is tall, there are some low spots and a low doorway into the bedroom and I was saying "Watch your head" quite frequently.

Cozy Garden Suite
Well equipped, three bedroom garden suite apartment, suitable for short or long term stay. My husband and I came to Vancouver to visit family and found Jenn and Harv very accommodating hosts. We booked our stay without much notice and were made to feel very much at home for nearly three weeks. It is an older basement apartment but well lit and the cooking facilities are generous. the location is situated near shopping, transit and an easy drive to downtown Vancouver.

Clean and well equipped for our stay.
The location was great for us. We had a vehicle but if you do not have one transit loop is right across the street so you can get down town or in to Kerrisdale very easily. We really enjoyed our family time as there were 5 of us and our dog and we all had a great time. Thanks Harvey we really enjoyed the stay.

Room to spread out
Harvey and Jenn are gracious hosts. They both gave us helpful suggestions about making the most of our time in Vancouver. The basement apt. has three bedrooms and was adequate for my family of six. The kitchen is well stocked and is easy to move about in. Please be mindful, it is a basement apt, so ceilings, particularly in the shower, are low. This wasn't a big problem for us, though, as we didn't spend much time there other than to sleep. While we didn't get to walk to the restaurants across the street, we did like that the Safeway was less than 2 miles from the house. Downtown Vancouver is a 3 mile drive and a bus stop is right across the side street from the house. Thanks, Jenn and Harvey for your hospitality!

This is a very nicely decorated, well located vacation home. The nieghbourhood is quiet and easy access to shops, supermarket, etc. Owner is very responsible and responsive, we have been provided everything essential for our stay. Definetely an ideal place to stay in Vancouver:) Thank you for hosting.

Stylish, well located and so kind
Harvey and Jenn's home is so lovely. The apartment is in their basement with a separate entrance. It is light, airy and stylishly decorated - it doesn't feel like a basement! The apartment had been updated and has lovely amenities including comfortable beds and sheets. Harvey and Jenn even make sure there are treats and snacks in the kitchen. As far as location goes, this place is great. Easy access to downtown, Richmond and the airport. The biggest highlight was how helpful Harvey and Jenn were during our visit. They checked in on us to see we were ok and they also helped return important items that we mistakenly left behind. I give them my highest recommendation!

Homey, comfortable, and great hosts!
We were so lucky to find this well-situated place when our original accommodations fell through! The hosts are terrific and welcoming, even on short notice, and were able to give us lots of great suggestions for restaurants and things to do during our short stay. We had a first-rate meal at the Cactus Club Cafe in West End, and went to hear really fine jazz at the Revel Room. We loved exploring the shops and cafes along Main. The apartment itself is comfortable (great beds!) and well-furnished with all the essentials, and is located two blocks from a fine running/bike path. We would love to return to Vancouver and stay longer, and will definitely try to book with Harvey and Jenn again if we do. Two very small cautions: this is a garden-level apartment, and there is ductwork lowering the ceiling height here and there. At 5'6'' I was just fine, but my 6' husband and son had to remember to duck in a few spots. And because the owners live upstairs, there is a fair amount of noise from footsteps from time to time, which is only what you would expect and was not bothersome overall. Thanks again, Harvey and Jenn!

Friendly host and ideal location
The apartment is neat and clean. It is located at Vancouver and very close to Richmond with a lot of the good restaurants within 20 mins drive. The host are very nice and living upstairs, so we could ask questions and or ask for help whenever needed. Overall 5 stars and I will definitely choose this apartment again for my next visit.

Jimmy and his group were excellent guests. They were easy to communicate with, respectful of our rules and left our place in good shape. I strongly recommend them to any future hosts.

Great host, great place, lots of beds
Drove up with a group of 8 for a soccer tournament near Vancouver and stayed here two nights. The host was incredibly nice and easy to communicate with. The rental until had plenty of beds for all 8 of us and was very nice inside. There was also a small yard with chairs and a table, perfect for relaxing in. When we arrived the unit was stocked with fruit, snacks, coffee and even eggs for breakfast which was a nice touch. It's located 20 mins from downtown Vancouver and there is an abundance of restaurants just a few blocks away. We will definitely be staying here for any future trips to Vancouver.

It was good.
It was a nice and clean house. It had nice furnitures. The owner of the house was kind. I got a good discount from the owner. It was pretty close to downtown. There were a few little problems. It had a short roof. It had a lovely garden. They gave us some food including fruits. They gave tous to our kids. Vancouver was a really nice city. I had so much fun.

Lovely Home with Easy City Access
We spent 5 days in Vancouver with this rental as our home base and wished we could have stayed longer. The possibilities for exploration are endless. Every day was a new adventure in this incredibly beautiful setting which includes expansive and intriguing city, mountains, forests, parks and seas. Our hosts were friendly and helpful in suggesting places to visit and in getting us oriented. We simply ran out of time to get to everything on our list, including many more opportunities for multicultural dining experiences. Some of our favorite things were biking around the sea wall at Stanley Park, hiking at the Cleveland Dam, visiting Horseshoe Bay on a gorgeous blue day and touring and hiking through the picturesque UBC campus and trails. On the only rainy day we had, we enjoyed the aquarium at Stanley Park and Science World. The apartment is described accurately on VRBO. It is clean and pleasantly decorated and was comfortable and peaceful after busy days out. The space easily accommodated our group of 4 and we quickly felt at home. The windows allow for natural light and cooling and there is a lovely yard available with table and chairs. The kitchen functions well and we appreciated the washer and dryer access. The neighborhood offers grocery stores, shops and restaurants, all within walking distance. Just a couple blocks away we visited the Chinese Seafood and Red Star restaurants which are both excellent choices. La Patisserie is a wonderful bakery that uses sugar moderately and has many light, airy sponge cake offerings. We also visited Earnest Ice Cream while we were out and about. The lines are long in the evening but we slipped in easily in the early afternoon.
