"The Utopia River Retreat was just what we needed after 3 nights camping out in Big Bend. The cabin we stayed in (Kickapoo) was very clean and well stocked with everything we needed (cooking utensils, bath towels, linens). The grounds were peaceful and scenic and had a nice swimming pool and volleyball net as well as riverfront access. At this time the river on the property didn't look great for swimming (no deep spits, tree branches, etc), but if you want to swim, Utopia City Park has a deep...

"If you love the beauty of nature and a peaceful surrounding this is the place to be!! Sitting on the porch watching the deer, wild turkeys, hummingbirds, and an enormous variety of wild birds is wonderful beyond words!The hosts are magnificent. And by the way Utopia is a great town, Garner State Park and Lost Maples are very close and there is great golf! On Saturday eating a deluxe meal at The Laurel Tree is unforgettable!"

"The cabin is in need of repair. High speed internet was not true we could never get anything on the Dish tv to work The cooker was rusted, grill didn’t fit. The furniture on the back porch was rusted so we set in camper chairs we bought. The front door deadbolt didn’t work. Both porches Need major upgrade When we opened the back door a bucket of cigarettes butts greeted us. The grounds were filled with stickers and most grass dead.
