"From the moment we arrived the staff were attentive and friendly, after a 3 and half hour journey we had a lovely roast dinner and a beer which went down very well. We were then shown our room which was perfect, and matched the quaint pub, the bed was comfortable. tea, coffee, milk, biscuits, & water readily available, en-suite with shower and t.v. Breakfast was lovely all fresh and local produce. Final evening we had a lovely meal which coincided with my husbands birthday, the dessert came out...

"A Husband and wife run the B+B. They were very welcoming to us. You could order breakfast the night before, for anytime between 7-9. It was made to order as well. The room had a super-king bed which was fantastic. The bathroom was very modern. The Lounge/dinning area is full of wonderful antiques. The house itself is over 400 years old. Overall, a great experience, happy to stay there again and have recommended it to other friends."

"Could be outstanding but the kitchen lets them down. The location, hotel and staff are wonderful but the food is where the shine falls off. Decent menu but most of the food was bland, lacking taste or overly greasy (fish). Breakfast was wrong both mornings (even with simple request), kitchen needs to read the orders properly.. At the two dinners, both night people on tables around us were commenting on their food.. (which is such a shame for a lovely hotel..."

"Stayed in the 'Dunlin room'
Very poor lighting in the corridor. Wallpaper patched up poorly in the corridor by the bedrooms. Noisy extractor fan in our bathroom. Breakfast a little underwhelming, (overdone bacon and chewy sausage. Staff very attentive and polite. No signal on the tv celestial channels on two days. Limited bathroom amenities. Cobwebs on the windows in the breakfast area. "
