Mid Century Modern Home w/ Private Pool & Lake on 50 Acres

Stay Local but feel like you are MILES and MILES away from home!!! This is truly a paradise for the most private of parties. Lock the gate behind you and no one will enter unless you want them too! This home cannot be seen by the road and nobody knows you are here, but me! This was our private families home and now that I am widowed and a empty nester I am enjoying sharing this beautiful, inspiring home and property with others. You will experience the beauty of nature, the unique architecture of Frank Llyod Wright's teachings and a calmness here that is just unbelievable! Once you
arrive you will not want to leave!
Every day is a new day here with something different to see. I promise you, you will not be disapointed, you may not even want to leave, but you must because there are other guests waiting to experience what you just have!
Main Floor: dining - seats 8, kitchen - seats 6 at breakfast bar, walk-in pantry, sunken greatroom, laundry room, 2 bedrooms and 1 1/2 bathroom, the large bathroom has sunken tub on the main floor..
Second Floor: 3 bedrooms - 2 masters (1 king and 1 queen) the 3rd also a queen. 2 bathrooms 1 with 2 seated shower the other with large 2 person seated shower, double sink, and Jacuzzi tub. I have left you another full size mattress and a blow up mattress.

We reserved this home for a family reunion vacation. We had family visit from all over the country. When we arrived, we couldn’t believe how beautiful it was. Not only was the property huge, it was absolutely gorgeous. The home was beautifully decorated and was so cozy. The pool was perfect, and we loved kayaking and fishing on the pond. The game room had everything you could possibly need for teenagers. We also used the kitchen in the game room. Miss Donna the host was very sweet and great at communicating. Thank you so much for hosting this gorgeous property. We will be back.

FAMILY VACATION

We really enjoyed being together as a family at this vacation rental. There was plenty of room, the house and lake were beautiful and it was close to home in St Louis. We enjoyed fishing, the boats and even the game garage on a rainy morning.

A Real Dream Home!

Donna and her Mid Century Lake House were absolutely incredible! Elegantly furnished, yet comfortable and spacious, it felt like a true dream home, & was a fantastic NYE venue to host our themed murder mystery dinner for friends traveling in. Donna was friendly, flexible, & communicative. To top off, you can't miss the spectacular views of the lake especially at sunset and sunrise! Perfection! Thank you, Donna, for sharing your incredible lake home with us and allowing us to close out 2024 in such a magnificent place! We will definitely be back!

Fabulous!

Donna's home is absolutely gorgeous! She was a wonderful and communicative host. We had a blast! Would definitely stay again. It has anything you would need. We were blown away at the beauty of this place. Everyone had something to do at our celebration with the game house, the lake and the pool. The pool was perfect and the lights were a bonus at night. People wanted the info to stay there later. Didnt want to leave.

Family vacation

We absolutely loved this property! The home is large and gorgeous. The walk-in pantry had everything we needed. We loved that the pool had a deep end (6') and plenty of nice beach towels. In fact, we were never short on towels. We used the kayaks and canoe every day. We caught fish each day, but we threw them back. Our grandkids (ages 6-14) were outside all day - from early morning fishing to evening swims. They loved the game room, but it was too hot for us adults. Everyone slept well-beds and pillows are amazing. We loved this place so much that I booked it for next year already! Donna is great to work with as well! Thank you for sharing your beautiful home!!

A Glorious Week

Enjoyed the week here with my kids and grandkids. Such a beautiful place with so much to do. There is no need to leave. We swam in the pool, kayaked with kayaks provided, explored the beautiful grounds and amused ourselves with the closet of games. The host was extremely responsive when we needed to call. We would definitely stay here again.

Very pleasant stay

Let me begin by saying, how overly impressed with this property I am. Its spacious, gracious, extremely clean. Fully stocked with essentials. The owner is VERY pleasant, easy to talk to and just an over all joy. A true sweetie. This property makes you feel special. We will definitely revisit. And believe me, you, when I say, the property is priced right!!!!!! If you are not sure of what to do, you have my word, this is the right choice. Go do the rental NOW!! You will be glad you did. We celebrated our 15th wedding anniversary there. Truly happy

Best Vacation!

This was the most beautiful property! Better than we ever expected! Pool, lake, house, gardens—-everything was perfect. House had everything we needed for cooking. Just fabulous.

Unique house/great location

Can't say enough good about this place. Stunning grounds, very quiet. Our grandkids ages 8-14 enjoyed fishing, swimming and kayaking. They were never bored. Large selection of movies for evening entertainment. Plenty of room for all 12 of us. The only down side is some of the furnishings a bit worn. House could use a good airing out. Ran into some dishes that got put away dirty. Owner is very quick to reply to all questions. Had lots of recommendations for restaurants and ice cream. Only down

Great property

Pictures do not do this place justice. We just stayed with 6 kids and 6 adults. There were tons of activities to keep everyone busy, from swimming to kayaking to ping pong, we were never bored. The property is beautifully maintained and the bonus game room was a real hit!

Long House - Union Mo

The property was outstanding as advertised with great views; direct access to a fairly large "pond"/"lake" and swimming pool. The pool could use a handrail on the steps as the last step in and first step out is taller than normal and difficult for "older people" to get out of the pool. The owner was gracious; responded quickly to very minor calls for questions. The onlh drawback is the house is not HC friendly with steps up or down into virtually every room. Franky, it shows on the pictures but I did not scrutinize it sufficientluy to understand that. All in all, I would recommend the Long House with 4+ stars for groups of friends (5 BR) or a family.

Most Amazing Stay & Experience I've Ever Had on VRBO

As soon as you turn down the driveway, it feels like you're driving to a winery. Instead you pull up to this gorgeous property. You have to stop to just to take it all in. The lake, the home, the grounds, the overall setting is stunning. It feels like you're in a whole other world. I threw a surprise 40th birthday party & had about 30 guests attend. There was more than enough space throughout the manor as well as multiple places for people to mingle & sit outside & take in the beauty of it all. My fiance & I, plus 2 other couples stayed Friday & Saturday but several others could have stayed in the manor or RV on the grounds & nobody would feel on top each other. Every single person who attended the party was amazed at the space & beauty of all that it entailed & had rave reviews. Several couples ended up getting the VRBO information and said they will be booking this place for events & just a weekend getaway. The band said in all their years, they've never played in a space that gorgeous. I found a hidden gem by accident & will be making this an annual event to spend w/friends & family, & I'm telling everyone about the experience we had. Donna was amazing.I asked if I could take a look at the property before the party so I could get ideas for band placement, where the bartender would be setup, etc.& Donna graciously abided. Amazing memories were made. Thank you Donna for opening up your home for so many others to enjoy. Hands down, greatest experience ever. EPIC!

We had 5 couples and this was the perfect place for it. Plenty of space and tons of privacy. Donna was extremely responsive and very accommodating. There aren’t many properties like this one!

Perfect Getaway

This property exceeded expectations. Both the kids and parents had a fantastic time! The kiddos barely touched an electronic device and instead swam,fished, kayaked, or played games. The views are also spectacular! Would highly recommend!

Family Getaway

First annual family vacation to celebrate parents wedding anniversary. Siblings travelled in from 3 different states. Listing included incorrect access and Wi-Fi code but was quickly remedied after contacting host. Wifi and cell service are spotty in the area (great if you’re trying to disconnect, not so great if you need to get some work done). It was great to have the pool and pond- kids and adults enjoyed swimming, kayaking, canoeing and fishing. Bedrooms are small (aside from the master) which made it a bit challenging for those of us with young kids. Otherwise there were mattresses available to put in other living area for the older kids. Loved having the laundry available, only had one load to do when I got home! Lots of other amenities included. The kitchen is small which created some difficulty cooking for a large group. There is plenty of dining area and also outdoor seating- wear bug spray! If our family is able to get everybody together again next year we would definitely consider this place. Thanks Donna!

60 th birthday family get together

As advertised, the property is well located, beautiful views, peaceful and quiet. The owner, Donna responded very quickly to our questions and made the check in process very easy. She even offered us to use the game room for free as a birthday present. She seemed very nice, even though we did not meet her. However, When we arrived, the dishwasher was fully loaded with dishes that had grown mold on them. I tried to turn it on, but it was not working. I texted Donna and she told me that it should be working. She sent instructions, but it still did not work. We gave up. There were also spiders and dead bugs in the house and under the beds. I suspect we were the first renters of the year. As soon as we arrived, we had to hose the boats down and we had to beat the outdoor cushions for bugs and dust. Otherwise the house is well equipped, even though outdated. There was a lack of curtains in the bedrooms, but we invested in a few sleep masks and made it work. I usually do not give reviews, but I was very disappointed with the work we had to do as soon as we arrived to make the place look clean before the rest of the family showed up. I will admit though that after the initial workload, we did enjoy our stay: we fished, saw turtles, hiked, swam, kayaked and canoed...the connection with nature is amazing and we really enjoyed it. Even though the yard and landscaping are beautiful, I feel our stay could have been better, if we had not felt that initial disappointment

Relaxing and beautiful

I can’t express enough how much we enjoyed our stay. It was quiet, tranquil, and sitting and watching the geese fly over the private lake was exactly what we were looking for. Add to that we caught lots of fish in the private lake. Donna was perhaps the best host that we’ve ever experienced on VRBO and we have been renting for many years. She was incredibly responsive and caring. The house was beautiful and well equipped. Without a doubt we would go back, but perhaps during the summer months when all the trees are in full bloom.

Family party

Fabulous. Simply fabulous. I do wish the pool heater had been working, but everything else was great. Fantastic setting, generous, well equipped kitchen, IN-TUNE piano, lots of room to dance, sing and party inside, and out! We had a caterer bring out dinner, and after a LATE night, clean up was a breeze. Can't wait for a reason to go back!!

Incredible property!!

This place is incredibly private and beautiful. Being able to fish in a lake while sitting five feet from the pool was awesome. Donna, the property manager was great to work with. If the location and price works for you, book it! You won’t regret it.
