Perfect
The perfect cottage, between a church and the pub, in a beautiful village. A fully equipped, comfortable, quiet, relaxing break away from normal hectic life. Easy access to the coast and moorland with Gardens and National Trust properties not too far away.

wonderful cottage & location
A wonderful cottage located in the center of a beautiful village. The cottage was spotlessly clean with everything we required, the welcome pack was much appreciated too. 50yds from the village pub which is highly recommended but be advised to book in advance for a table especially at weekends. Central to all the tourist spots and all within each reach, the scenery in this part of the country is breathtaking. would highly recommend staying at prospect cottage.

A home from home
Moving to Chittlehampton,were looking for somewhere to stay for the first few weeks nearby and Prospect Cottage was perfect. We felt at home immediately, it has a cosy atmosphere with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The view looking out of the cottage onto the square is quite charming with the Church at the top the Bell Inn at the bottom and beautiful cottages in between. There is also a fantastic village farm shop, tea shoppe and post office just around the corner which can supply all your needs. We would definitely recommend a stay any month of the year in Prospect Cottage.

couldn't have asked for more
What a lovely cottage. Warm, comfortable and cosy and just right for our short break to Devon. It is so well equipped decorated and furnished that we wanted for nothing. The village is charming with its pub and community shop and a short drive took us to many attractions including the coastal town of Instow. We had such a relaxing time, and were even lucky with the weather, given it was a November break . Our thanks go to the owners who clearly want their guests to have a comfortable stay. We loved it.

One of the best
This cottage was one of our favourite VRBO rentals. Chittlehampton is a lovely small town; the cottage is right on the main square between the church and the pub; and the house is charming, clean, comfortable, and has everything we needed for a week’s stay. We would highly recommend this cottage to anyone who wants a base for exploring the SW of England.

Superb stay
A lovely cottage with everything you could need in it. Very cosy in the evenings and beds were very comfy. Communication was brilliant as were the welcome back and the overall location. A lovely, relaxing holiday.

prospect cottage
Wir hatten einen ganz wunderbaren Aufenthalt im "prospect cottage". Die Lage ist prima, der Ort zauberhaft und das Cottage einfach nur wunderbar. Uns fehlte es an nichts! Besonders herauszustellen ist, dass das Cottage sehr sauber war und bestens ausgestattet. In der Nähe ist ein Pub, in dem man gut essen gehen kann. Wir können diese Unterkunft nur weiterempfehlen.

North Devon Short Stay
Lovely setting in the square. Quiet environment with ample parking. We had a number of local activities in the square that livened up the evenings despite the dreary weather. Overall the stay was very comfortable in a well appointed unit.

Last evening it was wonderful hearing the church bells ringing — apparently the Bell Ringers practise every Tuesday evening. This is a great centre to investigate the surrounding area — lots of practice in driving on narrow country lanes! The house is well set out with comfortable furniture and ample supply of dishes and cutlery. We would recommend it highly.

Great in every way!
Really nice cottage, homely feel. Extremely well equipped. Welcome breakfast tray on arrival. Lovely location in the village square, with church, pub and village shop a few steps away. Great location and lots of great places to visit close by including the coastal towns of Ilfracombe and Lynton and Lynmouth, and fabulous beaches of Croyde and Saunton. Highly recommended.

Chittlehampton stay
We were lucky in our choice of staying in this village and at this property. It is accurately represented in the description and if you want to explore North Devon then it is an ideal location. The village is authentic, quiet and friendly. Both the owner and the property manager were easy to deal with. Would recommend.

Great part of Devon
This cottage didn't disappoint, it had everything that I needed except good weather. I loved the open plan layout which was ideal for the Bose radio. Lovely quiet village with plenty of good walks nearby. The "starter" food was appreciated as there is no local supermarket.

Lovely cottage in the heart of Chittlehampton. The cottage has everything you need including added extra's of breakfast goodies and milk on arrival. Couldn't fault it.

Delightfull Cottage
We thoroughly reccomend if you come across this cottage go head and book it, you will not be dissapointed.Spotlessly clean through out in a great location with a great pub just across the square. We would definately book again

Happy Days
From the moment we arrived we knew we had found a special place. Beautifully decorated comfy and I say again ‘comfy’ chairs and sofas (so often they are not!) a great open space well appointed kitchen lots of extras.. some arrival supplies which were amazing .. thank you just right . Bedrooms first class beds to die for!! bathrooms.. what a treat to have two! Everything was truly lovely thank you for your thoughtfulness 🌸

Nice location in a pretty Devon village
Very good stay. Only issue I had was where to dry clothes after washing/raincoats etc, but didn’t spoil our enjoyment.

Thanks for your feedback We use the boiler cupboard to dry clothes which is always warm. There is also a clothes airer available Pleased you enjoyed your stay

Perfect Cottage in rural Devon
A great place for a holiday on the edge of Exmoor. Perfect for a couple or small family. The pub across the square is great too! Also, it made a great base for cycling- I rode almost 100 miles on beautiful roads in the area during our stay!

Fantastic Cottage
The cottage was even better than we hoped for. It was immaculately clean and very comfortable. The owners were very helpful with a booking query. It was a lovely touch to leave fresh bread and breakfast cereals for us. We would definitely recommend staying in one of their beautiful cottages.

Great holiday
We would definitely recommend Prospect cottage it is such a cosy home, plenty of room for us. In a quiet area. It was clean and tidy and very comfortable like home from home, a great base for visiting many places. Everything you needed was there. A Lovely welcome pack of bread, milk, butter and breakfast. We shall definitely be visiting again. Added bonus of a few good meals from the pub. Thank you Chris and Jan for sharing your home with us.

Excellent family holiday cottage!
Prospect cottage was the perfect base for our family holiday. The living area downstairs was big enough for our family of 4 to unwind after a long day out exploring. The bedrooms upstairs were ideal with super comfortable beds, and having 2 bathrooms was a real bonus. The cottage was also so well equipped, it had everything we needed. The location was perfect for exploring North Devon. We all had a great week and look forward to returning. Highly recommended!

Lovely cottage, very comfortable and very well equipped. Impressed that owners provided bread, milk, tea, coffee, butter and breakfast cereals. Just across the road from the Bell Inn pub which provided adequate meals and a very quaffable Rioja wine

Cosy cottage
A fabulous cottage in a pretty village within easy reach of beautiful coastline and countryside. The cottage was immaculate and very well equipped and the Bell Inn opposite served great food.

Ideal home from home

We were originally booked to stay in this cottage in May but Coronovirus put paid to that idea but luckily we were able to rearrange to visit in September. It is a very comfortable, spotlessly clean and convenient cottage with everything we could need. Nice area although very hilly for walks! Thoroughly recommend.
