Negatives: Tiny tv English Bfast poor quality ingredients 10.30am booking out not acceptable ..particularly when paying £493 for 3 nights & then having to pay an extra £25 to book out at 12. A shame because staff all very friendly but obviously let down by greedy owners."

"Location is great for us. We stayed in Room 3 in the courtyard as we had a small dog with us and they are not allowed in the Main Hotel rooms. We have stayed in this room before - its an excellent size but on the first floor. It seems to have been modernised from when we were last there which was nice. We didn't have breakfast or evening meal there as it is "hotel prices". Within walking distance of the hotel is one of the best pubs in Derbyshire - The Hollybush Inn - great beer and grub."

"We had a fantastic stay at The Family Tree. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was lovely, clean and quiet. And the breakfast was amazing! Just a few minutes’ drive from the Tramway Museum, or a lovely 40-minute walk along the canal to the Hurt Arms in Ambergate. In the end, we were sorry that we were only staying the one night; wish we could have stayed longer. We will absolutely stay here again the next time we’re in Derbyshire!"

"My stay at Horsley Lodge was fantastic. From the moment I arrived to the moment I left the staff were outstanding . I stayed in the Barn cottage and I cannot recommend it highly enough, the same goes for the food that comes out of their kitchen. "Hotel was good overall well located for access to Derby center. The hotel car park is very small so thankfully you have the option of a multistory across the road which if you get the hotel to check you ticket is very cheap to use. Breakfast was buffet style and not too bad."

"Nice setting,friendly staff.What I didn't like that the full English breakfast was over cooked the fried egg was hard ,the black pudding and hash browns were rock hard and had no moisture in them There was no marmalade to go with the toast."

"Lovely property in countryside attached to a very well maintained golf course. No bath robes, slippers or safe in the room which I would have expected for a hotel of this type and price point. Very clean and well looked after. Helpful, pleasant local staff."

"We have stayed here several times although on this visit we felt there was a different atmosphere. Reception staff were very efficient and yet seemed less approachable. We usually enjoy the breakfast but this time it was really not worth the extra we paid for it as things like fruit and croissants ran out and weren’t replaced. The coffee machine also stopped working. The gym staff were very friendly and the workout equipment was good although the jacuzzi was out of action and the changing rooms...

"The property is very modern, wellmaintained and the staff are helpful. It is in a convenient location close to the train station and a 10 to 15 minute walk to the town centre. There is also a bus service from the train station. The area is quiet. There is a good buffet breakfast."

"The hotel is fabulous, the staff are incredibly friendly and the rooms are clean and luxurious. The only thing that could be improved is to fit air conditioning in the rooms. At night the room became quite stuffy and it's not possible to open patio doors at night. Apart from that - amazing"

"The room, a junior suite, was most comfortable but sadly lacking in air-conditioning, although the current heat wave has been exceptional. Lovely views, peaceful, apart from the noise of the butterflies, all that one could wish for. For the price the owners may want to consider replacing the square of soap with refillable pump dispensers and providing a loo brush! We had an enjoyable dinner served by the very friendly staff and were delighted to have our breakfast served, not a buffet,...
