This home is spectacular. It is spacious, charming and truly beautiful. It is equipped with every possible convenience. The grounds are lovely. Poolside is truly enjoyable. The vista is magnificent. The property is also located ideally for visiting any number of beautiful and interesting towns in the area. Cortona is a stone's throw away, but we travelled easily to San Gimignano, Sienna, Montalcino, Montepulciano, Spello, Assisi and Perugia (to name a few). We can also not say enough about our hosts: they checked in regularly, made sure the rooms were set up to our liking, offered assistance when a medical visit was required, offered sightseeing advice etc. We truly felt cared for and had a lovely time!

Beautiful farmhouse

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this beautiful home! The views were truly breathtaking—whether you’re sipping coffee in the morning or winding down in the evening, the scenery never disappoints. The kitchen was great for anyone who loves to cook. The home is spacious, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed, making it the perfect getaway.The host was incredibly helpful, responsive, and went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed for a perfect trip. Highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a peaceful, scenic and wonderful escape in the Tuscan/Umbrian countryside!

Absolutely Amazing

The house was absolutely lovely located at the top of a hill overlooking the countryside and the lake below. Our multi-generational family had a great stay, enjoying day trips to nearby towns, swimming in the pool and evening meals on the terrace. The house has everything you might need, the host is very responsive and gives lots of great tips and we would return to spend a another vacation there in a minute!

Loved Our Experience

First and foremost, the view from this property from the very spacious and well-appointed patios are exceptional. Then, the location in Umbria right on the border with Tuscany allows for easy visits to lots of nearby towns. We visited Cortona, the nearby towns on Lago Trasimino, Florence, Assisi, Montepulciano and Pienza. We enjoyed the amenities of the house, especially the spaciousness and kitchen. Finally, David, the owner, was super helpful and attentive.

Outstanding views Awesome place to stay

Dave and team were amazing from checkin to checkout. His recommendations on where to visit were spot on. He also recommended horseback riding at centro ippico san biagio which was a great experience. The house and views of Lake Trasimeno were awesome. We stayed during the summer so the pool was a great place to cool off. The ability to take day trips to the beautiful towns of Umbria were a plus. Would definitely come back when visiting the region.

Comfortable stay with exceptional views and owner help

We booked this property last-minute after our previous accomodation fell through, and we wish we had booked this originally. The house has an exceptional view perched high above Lake Trasimeno. The rooms are all very comfortably furnished and provided great spaces to hang out as a family when we weren't out exploring Tuscany and Umbria (the house is ideally situated for a wide range of day trips). Dave went above and beyond, not only providing trip advice that was spot-on, but also going out of his way to help us with last-minute arrangements when our planned accomodation fell through. Highly recommended, would stay here again!

Any statement would be an understatement: the house, the grounds, the view, the location totally filled with wonder. A beautiful place to celebrate with family and friends. Escape to the Umbrian hills

From the moment you arrive at this stunning property you will be blown away by the beauty and calm which surrounds you. A perfect place to unwind and find peace and relaxation, which is definitely what we needed in this particular year. The property itself has every comfort but it is the views of the lake and the surrounding hills which make it so unique. If you love Italian food there are plenty of fabulous restaurants to try and beautiful towns and cities a short drive away. We cannot rate it too highly.

Fantastic house and location.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Podere Nuovo.  We are a family group of 5 adults and all the group are keen to re-book next year.  The view of Lake Trasimeno from the house alone is a good enough reason to stay at Podere Nuovo.  We never got bored of looking at the ever changing view.  The house has all the facilities/equipment you need to make it feel like home from home.   Dave and Francesca have paid a lot of attention to detail and the house is extremely welcoming and clean. The location of the house is great for visiting beautiful towns such as Siena, Assisi, Arezzo and Pienza all under an hour drive.  Pienza has the most amazing views.  We also did a couple of wine tastings in Montepulciano and Montalcino. We enjoyed daily visits to the small town of Tuoro for post cycling coffee and pastries and became regulars in the very friendly Mocafe.  The pizzas were also a favourite.  There are a number of restaurants in the town and I would suggest booking in advance for a weekend visit. A number of the group are keen cyclists and found several beautiful routes from the house.  Dave and Francesca are extremely helpful hosts and made our stay at Podere Nuovo a good one.

Villa with breathtaking views

We had excellent communication with Dave and Francesca prior to our holiday. They met us at the house on our arrival and showed us round. The accommodation was perfect with large rooms and a great pool table for the kids. Good sized pool with huge grounds. The location in a national park was idyllic with great walks (and superb for trail running for some!). Views from the house were breathtaking. Within easy reach of Siena, Cortona and Perugia. Favourite trip to Montepulciano with stop off at vineyards for wine tasting. Thoroughly recommend Stefania Meloni from Toscana e Gusto. She came to the house with her team and cooked us an amazing meal with local produce....so good that we asked her to come back for a second time. Didn't have a chance to try her cooking school but maybe next time. Excellent venue for a family holiday. Thanks Dave and Francesca Jim, Bridget and family

Soggiorno spettacolare!

Il nostro soggiorno al Podere Nuovo è stato a dir poco spettacolare! La casa e gli spazi all'aperto sono proprio come si vedono in foto: una meraviglia! è tutto perfettamente organizzato e curato. La pulizia meticolosa, sia della casa che degli spazi esterni e della piscina. La cucina poi è super attrezzata, cosa che rende, se possibile, ancora più rilassante il proprio soggiorno. I proprietari Dave e Francesca sono super disponibili, così come i signori che si occupano della manutenzione della casa. Soggiorno consigliatissimo davvero, noi speriamo tanto di poterci tornare un giorno!

We’ve stayed in many places but this has to be one of the best, the house itself is serene (the photographs really don’t do it justice), the views fantastic , the area is one of outstanding beauty and the neighbours and locals are friendly and supportive... what more could anyone want!

Traumwoche am Lago Trasimeno

Eine wundervolle Woche in den Pfingstferien in Tuoro sul Trasimeno, mit 2 Familien (4 Erwachsene, 4 Kinder) in einer wundervoll gelegenen Landhausvilla hoch über dem Trasimenischen See, mit einem traumhaften Blick von Pool und Terasse(n) über den ganzen See. Trotz der hochsommerlichen Temperaturen über 30 Grad herrscht auf ca. 300m über dem See ein angenehmer Luftzug, und Dave ist ein exzellenter Gastgeber, der nicht nur alles bereitstellt, was man sich wünschen würde (u.a. ein hochwertiges, neues Barbeque, Bettwäsche, Handtücher für Pool und Bad, eine voll ausgestattete Küche mit amerik. Kühlschrank und jedwedem Equipment), sondern auch jederzeit mit Tipps bzgl. Aktivitäten, Restaurants etc. unterstützt. Wir kommen gerne wieder !

An amazing farmhouse centrally located for Sienna and Florence etc.

This property is superb. The rooms are all of a good size and beautifully decorated. The bedrooms have views of the lake and are akin to a top hotel. The pool and grounds overlook the lake and has plenty of shaded areas for dinning and drinks. The pool table was a great distraction. Even the supermarket a short drive away is excellent. The grounds are extensive offering a great walks in and out of trees. The case of wine ordered from the local winery should arrive shortly so we can reflect on the great week we had. We will definitely rebook this house.

Absolutely stunning house with jaw dropping view

The house was perfect. It was cozy and felt like home from the moment we arrived. The rooms were all very well kitted out, with tons of storage so you didn't need to live out of your bag. As for the outside. What can I say. If I could wake up to that view every day, I would in a heartbeat. There was plenty of space outside where everyone could sit and enjoy the afternoons and evenings, and watch the sunset, with cocktails in hand. We had plenty of BBQs and ate underneath the cozy, warmly lit gazebo looking at the beautiful towns below. The pool table gave the younger members of our group a great activity to do in the evening, and was a welcomed addition to this great house. During our stay we were able to see a couple of wonderful towns (Assisi and Siena) easily accessible from the house, and our first time to see some of these wonderful Italian towns. The hosts were fantastic and communicated with us throughout our stay ensuring we had everything we needed. We can't thank you enough, and will be back.

wonderful vacation

It was a lovely home, lots of space, and very relaxing. It accommodated our family of 11, and we did not feel cramped. Very clean home with modern amenities. Great base for visiting other cities in Tuscany and Umbria. A short steep drive up hill to get to the house, but result is a private home with great views. Grocery store, and few restaurants/bar nearby in quiet local town of Tuoro. Dave and Francesca were very helpful in giving us ideas on what to do in the area, and how to get around in Italy, from renting taxi, to driving and parking in other cities. We were there only for short time, but felt like we were locals. Would definitely stay there again.

A great home base to explore Umbria and Tuscany

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Podere Nuovo. It's a wonderfully quiet property situated atop a hill on the Umbria/Tuscany border. While the road up the hill is not for the faint of heart, once you arrive at the property you're greeted with fantastic views of the surrounding environs, including lake Trasimeno. There was more than ample space for the 10 of us, and lots of places to sit outside and take in the scenery. If you're considering staying in this area you're likely to be spending much of your time visiting nearby towns, but its wonderful to be able to come back home to this property after a day out and relax. David and Francesca are highly communicative and respond to questions quickly. Overall, a great experience.

A beautiful house in a stunning setting

We loved our recent trip to Tuoro. The house feels like it is on top of the world with fantastic views of the lake. It is blissfully peaceful and tranquil, yet has numerous amenities close by. The village of Tuoro Sul Trasimeno is 5 mins away by car and has a couple of good supermarkets. There are fabulous walks from the door and the house is extremely comfortable and well appointed. The location is a perfect base for visiting the beautiful and historic towns of Cortona, Perugia, Arrezzo, Siena, Florence etc. It is also good for cycling. We hope to return soon.

Stunning views and comfort

As two families (10 people) we found this house more than matched our expectations and provided everything we wanted for an August relaxing week holiday. House clean spacious and well equipped, grounds extensive and fairly private, loads of indoor and outdoor seating space, great pool and best of all the stunning views. Local facilities in Truoro 10 mins by car down the hill. Recommend a trip to Isla Maggiore by boat - very easy from lakeside pier. Loads of other towns to visit. Dave is a communicative and attentive owner and Paulo and his dog Barry next door are available for any emergencies. We would strongly recommend this house

Spacious, comfortable and great views. Does what it says on the tin.

This is a spacious and comfortable holiday villa. It is well appointed with all necessary amenities and provides an outstanding large family holiday venue. It commands exceptional views of the entire lake and surrounding countryside and is well positioned to explore the local area. Perugia 40 mins, Assissi 60 mins, Cortona 30 mins, the lakeside beaches 20 mins. Local supermarkets are 10 mins away and there a couple of ok eateries in the local town, Tuoro 10 mins. There is also great support from a well informed local neighbour who manages the property. Pool and surrounds are great. Barbecuing and dining al fresco is a real treat. One other great feature- often overlooked- is that it's height and exposed location takes the edge off the sometimes fierce Itslian summer temperature and makes it much more comfortable for a Northern European visitor ! Recommended.

Superbe propriété extremement bien placée et avec vue à couper le souffle sur le lac Trasimène

Nous sommes partis à 2 couples avec six enfants de moins de 10 ans pour 15 jours et tout le monde a immédiatement trouvé sa place dans cette maison extrêmement fonctionnelle et avec de nombreux espaces de vie pour pouvoir s'isoler. La vue est tout simplement époustouflante (depuis les chambres, les terrasses et la piscine...) bien qu’étant à qq minutes du village le plus proche. La piscine est plus grande que sur les photos et bien exposée. Le fait d’être en altitude par rapport au lac permet de dormir au frais (et sans clim ) et ne quasiment pas avoir de moustique donc c'est vraiment un compromis idéal. Dave et Paolo ( ancien proprio qui habitent juste à coté) sont aux petits soin pendant le séjour. Mis à part la maison et son cadre la proximité immédiate de la voie rapide permet de rayonner très facilement sur un nombre incroyable de villes historiques en Ombrie et Toscane ( celles autour du lac et sur ses îles sont très sympas mais il y évidement Pérouse, Saint francois d'assises, Montepulciano pour les amateurs de vins et toutes les villes de toscane comme Sienne, Florence.....). En comparaison nous avons tous préférés l'Ombrie à la Toscane, beaucoup moins de la foule en une très grande diversité d'activités et de visite. Nous sommes simplement et unanimement conquis par cette demeure et sa region
