Our family had a wonderful first trip to truckee/Lake Tahoe. Cabin had everything we needed and it was in a perfect location;close to downtown truckee & Donner state park & easy trip to Tahoe. The cabin had a bunch of games, books and a great backyard with spa,bbq and gas fire pit perfect for roasting marshmallows with the kids. The host was easy to reach and responded quickly to any questions we had. I would 100% recommend this cabin and our family would love to stay here again.

My son and I enjoyed our stay at the facility. The check-in was straightforward. It was clean and had all of the expected conveniences. The kitchen was spacious with a full array of cookware, dishware and condiments. The refrigerator was large enough to accommodate all of our food items. The outside jacuzzi was a huge bonus with strong jets and a hot water temperature. The only drawback was the lack of the facilityā€™s wifi. The owner mentioned that the problem might have been due to a recent power outage. Regardless, our own wifi source was sufficient.Overall, the price was reasonable & the experience was well worth it. The owner was very responsive to my questions. I would highly recommend it to our friends.

Family Trip to Truckee

My daughter lives in Truckee. My husband and I, along with my other daughter and her family visited Truckee to spend time together. This house was great. We spent a lot of time there just hanging out. It accommodated us all. We will definitely look at booking this house again on our return trips to Truckee.The house offered plenty of beds, the kitchen was well-stocked and plenty of games to keep my 4 year old granddaugher occupied. My only comment was that the games were is such disarray that if we had wanted to use them as intended, it would have required hours to separate all the pieces. However, my granddaughter used them but made up her own rules as we went along. Kept her busy.We will definitely stay at this house again in the future.

Ideal Truckee property

This property was perfect for our visit to Truckee! The kitchen had everything we needed to make meals for our family, including a propane grill on the deck. The beds were super comfortable and the house was spotless. We loved that this property was pet friendly so that our son, who lives in Truckee, could visit us there with his dog. A nice bonus is the hot tub and fire pit on the back deck! Mel was super easy to communicate with and responded almost immediately to any questions. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Truckee and staying in Melā€™s Donner Bliss home. Would highly recommend to anyone, including family and friends. We will definitely be back!

Nice layout of rooms Clean Quiet neighborhood. Close to everything. We loved our stay. We did alert the owner that the surface of bathroom tub was very slippery. It was very easy to fall when wet and soapy. Use with caution or use a tub mat. That being said, I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. Donner Lake is the place to be, and this place was terrific.

Excellent & cozy property for all ages

We booked Donner Bliss Cabin to get away the week of Thanksgiving and really wanted something close to things but away from the crowds of Tahoe. It was important for us to be able to bring our mini Goldendoodle Sadie. I chanced upon the Donner Bliss cabin hosted by Mel and Sal and it blew us away. It had EVERYTHING a family would need to get away and make memories. Itā€™s cozy, inviting, clean and comfortable. Each person had space and the ā€œkidsā€ room comes fully equipped with tons of board games, fooseball, a Wii and a hit was the piano. The kitchen is FULLY stocked with utensils, pans, etc so much so that I was able to comfortably make a Thanksgiving dinner we all thoroughly enjoyed. If you are in need of groceries or drinks, Safeway is about a mile away. There are so many awesome things to mention but The Hot Tub, fenced in yard, Wood Burning Stove, full washer and dryer and ample supplies really made us feel at home. You only need to bring your clothes to this property, they provide everything else! Plus, itā€™s very easy to get to from any direction youā€™re coming from. We cannot wait to come back and explore in the summer time when we can roast marshmallows or use the BBQ. Mel was fantastic at communication and we felt at home every day. Thank you for trusting us to use your home and we really cannot wait to return!

Amazing Cabin

We took are first family vacation with my niece. 5 adults, 1 kid and 2 dogs. It was a packed house but big enough that we had our space. I love that it had two backyard decl and one front porch. Super spacious. The neighbors were super friendly and so were their four legged fur babies. Mel was super nice and helpful. Always communicating. I would rent this again for another family vacation.

It's hard to find a house like this in Tahoe that provides all the amenities my family looks for, dog friendly, kid friendly, hot tub, fireplace and room for two families! Loved the place, hot tub and fire pit was used each night. I also took advantage of the hammock. My husband loves to mountain bike ride so he did that each day. Took our bikes to the Truckee River and rode to Sunnyside . Beautiful ride. Yes we would rent this place again for sure.

We had a great stay at your property. It was a perfect size house for our family. I enjoyed coffee on the back patio every morning and the kids enjoyed a hot tub dip at the end of the day. Location was a perfect starting point for our daily adventures.

Perfect family cabin

We loved the cabin! Warm cozy and clean inside. Perfect for our family of 5. The kids bunk room had a fun array of games for our teens. Kitchen had everything we needed for cooking. The hot tub was a great spot to relax after skiing! We really enjoyed snowshoeing and cross country skiing around Donner Lake Stare Park- just across the main road from the neighborhood that the cabin is in. Mel was so communicative and answered all my questions before and during our trip. Check in and out were easy!

We had a great time staying here and it had everything we needed for our family of five. The kids loved all the games that were there and the beds were comfy and warm after full day of skiing and sledding. Apres ski in the hot tub while the snow was falling was especially great. Magical snow escape

We had a wonderful time at Donner Bliss. We came to show our 4-year-old snow for the first time and she had a ball. We loved frolicking in the snowy woods and sledding in the neighborhood, tubing at Soda Springs and making sā€™mores by the cozy fire. The house is lovely; very comfortable, clean, and roomy. There is a really cute kidsā€™ bedroom with a piano and a variety of games. The neighborhood is beautiful and very convenient to downtown. We would absolutely come back. Perfect Cozy Setup

We really enjoyed this cabin because two families with kids had plenty of space to be comfortable. The kids bunk room was a highlight for our little boys and the fireplace and hot tub we're our favorite amenities! Location was perfect for easy access to Truckee and multiple ski resorts. We're already booked to go back again and looking forward to it!

Thanksgiving in Truckee

Property was nice. Cabinets were well labeled which helped find things. Firewood was under snow and hard to retrieve. Also would suggest fire extinguishers or at least one near the wood stove for safety. Owner did not know where matches were when butane lighter ran out. Also, would suggest supply of firestarter bricks to make lighting the fire easier and not have to use paper bags. Unit was well heated and hot tub grand. Would stay again.

Perfect Truckee Home

This was the perfect house for us( 2 adults, 1 son, and 1 4-legged son). Mel's house was had everything we needed. The fenced in back yard was perfect for our dog. It was centrally located to all of our favorite places: restaurants, hikes, and of course the Lake. I am currently at home already daydreaming of next years trip and booking our stay with Mel.

Quaint and charming house in a fantastic location

Melā€™s place was perfect for our week. We wanted to be close to Woodward and Truckee and this location was between them both. Also super convenient to get down to Donner lake. Mel has everything you need for a relaxing and confortable stay. We canā€™t wait to come back!
