Short stay at Hinton Lodge
We stayed at Hinton Lodge whilst visiting family and it made the perfect base. Everything was comfortable, clean and as described. Due to a last minute family emergency Clea was incredibly accommodating to some late minute changes, which was very much appreciated. Would definitely recommend a stay if visiting the area.

A Tranquil Retreat in a Charming Locale

Enjoyable stay at Hinton Lane
We were a family of 5 and had a great stay at the cottage. The hostess was very friendly and quick to respond to messages and accepted our request for early check in as we were flying in from the Middle East. The cottage was clean and kitchen fully equipped. The cottage is on a quiet lane and surrounded by the countryside. Lovely place to relax and explore.

Great Hinton stay

Excellent property in an amazing location.
Had the best weekend celebrating my husband's 50th Birthday in this 100yr old property located in a beautiful country side where you wake up to horses n deers. The property caretaker is an amazing lady who arranged the cake n balloons upon request n I can't thank enough for this huge help as I wanted to surprise my husband as he entered the property. Immaculately clean n neat property located within short distances to super markets, Stonehenge n Roman baths.

Peaceful bliss
This was just what we needed as a busy family, somewhere that feels a million miles away from the fast pace of life. Yet still a short drive to everything you could possibly need or want to do. The host was so accommodating and available along with the house keeper, nothing was to much. I struggle with pain on the daily but the beds and sofas in this place were so comfortable it really helped us as a family to slow down. Thank you so much for a beautiful stay would definitely go back again and recommend to anybody.

Birthday to remember
We booked this cottage to celebrate my 50th birthday with a small group of friends and family. It was fantastic, the location is amazing, and the cottage is lovely. The outside space is great and it was magical when the white horse came over to say hello. The owners are great, very friendly, easy to contact and helpful.

A slice of rural heaven
We've had the loveliest time, and neither of us wanted to leave. The cottage was very Cute, and having a roaring fire every night was a treat. The horses and dog were an extra bonus! A delightful little place to recover and "reset".

Hinton Lodge was a really comfortable and clean cottage located near to lots of places to visit. We enjoyed visits to Longleat, Westbury White Horse, Bath and Bradford on Avon.

Lovely accommodation and great location!
We all loved Hinton Lodge - a really sweet, unusual property, clean and well-kept and with wonderful views from the garden to enjoy. We thought the location was excellent for walks and visits to places such as Stonehenge, Bratton Camp and White Horse and Bath, and plenty of castles (we enjoyed Old Wardour(£) and Nunney Castle (free). We also seemed protected from the worst of the weather by the hills around the area - despite rain and a storm being forecast most days we enjoyed sunshine. Contact from the owners before we left gave us all the information we needed, and the housekeeper dropped by to check all was okay. I feel confident that had we had any further queries or problems they would have been dealt with quickly and helpfully. We had a really lovely stay, would definitely recommend to those seeking balance between peace and quiet and having things to do.

Very quiet
Very quiet. Pretty garden. Good place to stay during corvid-19. The kitchen was very well equipped. Low water pressure on the shower. Most of the window didn’t open and very hot during the day. A lot of insects.

Lovely property - Peaceful Location
Had a great stay at Hinton Lodge. The lodge was well located for visiting Bath, Salisbury, Longleat. Even in these Covid times there was plenty open to keep us occupied all week. It is located in quiet countryside with a lovely garden to sit out and chill in an evening. The house is nicely decorated and just big enough for a family of four. The owner/housekeeper is friendly and someone even brought our washing in off the line when we went out and it rained! Thanks for a great stay!

Wunderbarer Urlaub!
Hinton Lodge ist ein sehr schönes Cottage, schön möbliert, ruhig gelegen, alles da, was man braucht. Besonders nett war der Besuch des weißen Pferdes, auf der Koppel nebenan. Uns haben nur mehr Haken im Bad zum Aufhängen der Handtücher gefehlt, da man pro Person ein großes und ein kleines Handtuch hat.

Lovely quiet break
A really lovely little cottage in the countryside - we were astounded at how generally quiet the whole area was in terms of traffic and noise! We loved seeing the horses in the field each morning and found the cottage a really comfortable space for a couple of days away. Great location for lots of little villages and Longleat, as well as conveniently close to amenities. Thanks for a lovely break.

Excellently appointed retreat
We went for a long weekend and stayed in this lovely property. It is well situated to get to a number of locations, and is nicely isolated if you wish to just relax. Although it was cold, I can imagine the little terrace and nice sized garden areas are really great in the warmer months. We had no complaints about this property; it was very clean, nicely decorated and had all of the equipment that you would want and more, with a dishwasher, washing machine, grill/microwave and cooker. There is a lot of equipment for cooking (pans, and suchlike) so you could probably do a full roast dinner should you wish to. A lot of places only have the basics. It was also nice that the crockery wasn't just the cheapest possible option, but something quite nice. That said, you are close enough to Trowbridge to get take-away delivered too if you're in full-relax mode. Tea, coffee and milk in the fridge were very welcome on arrival! Plenty of towels, beds were comfortable. It was cold when we got there but as the instruction book said, it warms up in 15 minutes - and that was correct. Nice and warm quickly, and you have the added bonus of a fireplace to use. You're advised to bring your own firewood in advance, which is no problem. Lots of private parking at the front - could get three cars on there easily if needed. You are next to a road, but the traffic is so infrequent that it is hardly noticable. Pretty much everything you'd need for a nice break in a quality package. We'd stay here again.

Very nice.
A lovely little property. Some lighting in the bathroom and dining room needs some improvement. The gutter leaks badly when raining, so needs attention to preserve fabric of building. Saturday night was noisy from a loud party nearby. Otherwise great.

Our Stay at Hinton Lodge
Sweet little place which acted as a good base to go to Longleat. In lovely surroundings . The cottage was warm and it was useful having WIFI. The box of toys came in very useful and the way the cot was made caused great excitement when my grand daughter arrived. ( Very bright and welcoming) Cannot fault the communication between the owner and us before hand. Cleo was so welcoming and warming in her messages to me. The only matters I would bring to the attention of the owner is below. This is not criticism but hopefully helpful points for the future and to make other potential clients stay a successful one ( I DO NOT FEEL THIS NEEDS TO BE PRINTED BUT TO ACT AS AN AID MEMOIR TO THE OWNER) : The dishwasher contained dirty crockery on arrival. Even the frying pan was in there and was dirty. This meant there were no spoons to use so we had to wash up what was in the dish washer before eating. The single beds creaked so every time my husband and I moved we woke each other up. In need of new mattresses and a few tightening of screws.Not good for those with bad backs. The shower was hard to regulate so someone with thick hair found it difficult as temperature kept changing and it trickled. There were only 4 dining chairs initially. We had to ask for another as my Granddaughter needed one to put the booster seat on. This was given to us in a timely manner but the fact there was a cot provided I would have expected the owner would have known we would have needed a chair to put the booster seat on. As I said we had a lovely time and I am hoping my comments above aid to help for the future renting of the place.

Lovely, well equipped cottage.
We stayed for 4 nights at the cottage & everything was excellent. The kitchen was well equipped, the bed in the master bedroom was super comfy! The weather was quite cold but we were snug & cosy in the cottage. We met the owner briefly, she is lovely & was helpful & informative regarding things to do in the area. I only have positive things to say. We hope to return one day!

Charming Cottage
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hinton Lodge. The accommodations were 5 star. Very clean and comfortable. Location was ideal for visiting nearby sites. Welcome bottle of wine was very nice. Highly recommended!

Victorian cottage in rural location
A very well equipped cottage, providing all the essentials for a pleasant stay. There's even an open fire for chilly evenings. The hosts very thoughtfully provided items such as milk, toilet rolls, coffee pods, few tea bags until you could buy your own. Even a bottle of wine was available, which we have to say was so delicious that we need to find where to buy it. The location was rural and quiet with great views around. We explored Somerset, Wiltshire and the Cotswolds so it was a convenient base from which to travel. We will certainly want to return one day.

Lovely home in a beautiful setting
We loved our short stay at Hinton Lodge! The home was clean, beds were comfortable, and the setting was amazing. It was very convenient for touring Stonehenge, Bath, Cotswolds and Stratford-upon-Avon, but was also a very quiet and peaceful place to be at the end of the day. Take the footpath across the street for a wonderful countryside walk.

Beautiful cottage.
Hinton Lodge was the perfect home base for exploring the area with our two grandsons. It has the ambiance we were looking for and the journal had other interesting sites we weren't aware of. Wonderful memories.

A peaceful retreat in the countryside
We had stayed here five years ago, and on our return this month were thrilled to find it just as we remembered. Spacious, clean, and oh so quiet! Surrounded by horse pastures and woods, it offers a welcome respite after a busy day of touring Wiltshire. The location is great, being an easy drive away from so many sites: Stonehenge, Avebury, Highclere Castle ("Downton Abbey"), Bath, Glastonbury etc. And just down the road is the charming village of Steeple Ashton, with its village shop that still makes fresh-baked croissants every morning. We truly hated to leave.

Magical cozy cottage!
My family and I spent two special days at Hinton Lodge. The location was perfect - close to so many places we wanted to visit, such as Bath and Stonehenge, and situated in a gorgeous setting amidst fields and bridle paths. The house was comfortable and charming, well-equipped for cooking, and we made good use of the fireplace one night. We slept very well in the beds, and appreciated the peacefulness of this lovely home. Our host and housekeeper were very responsive and helpful. We highly recommend this property.

Really lovely, well equipped cozy cottage
We stayed in Hinton Lodge for a couple of nights over the Christmas period. We were very impressed by the standard of the cottage. The cottage is very well equipped too, with everything we needed for our short break. The only slight aspect we found to be a small issue was storing food/drink as the kitchen is small and is already full with everything. This didn't cause us an issue as we were only staying a short time but longer stays may need to consider this. Hinton lodge is a great base for exploring Longleat and surrounding areas. Overall would thoroughly recommend.

Perfect Victorian getaway!
We had a lovely Christmas at Hinton Lodge and could not fault it. Beds and bedlinen made for luxurious nights, and classy crockery and fittings added to overall comfort. As a veteran of rental cottages I give this one top marks.

Charming two bedroomed self catering unique property
two couples had a five day break here while one couple had a weekend course of Glass Blowing at the Glass Hub { info@theglasshub.co.uk } the far side of Trowbridge Hinton Lodge has everything you will need ~ fully equipt in the kitchen { including dish washer } ~ spotless inen and towels ~ clean comfortable warm and snug ~ plenty of hot water ~ rural views ~ friendly local horse ~ local pub { about a mile } good ale and sensibly priced pub grub ~ the only down side is that one of our mobiles had restricted reception. The owner was very pleasent and obliging and we would have no hesitation in recommending Hinton Lodge to anybody.

Gorgeous cottage
Wonderful detached character cosy cottage. Real fire was great to have and warmed whole house. Very friendly horse and pony in field next to house - our children loved them. Really lovely friendly owner.

Great stay
We had a great stay at Hinton Lodge. Quiet and rural are in fact the best words to describe the location. Perfect for visiting the area's assets. Lovely inns around, but making reservations is advised. Very useful folder in the cottage with lots of practical information. According to the description, there is a Dolce Gusto coffee maker, but this is not true. We bought capsules in advance and regret it now. But overall great place to stay!

Lovely
Beautiful property and location. The inside was immaculate and a 3 year old/5 yr old were enchanted. The bedrooms are right off the main sitting room, so early sleepers will get telly/living room noise, but that need not be a problem. Very well kitted out for 2 grown ups with 2 small children.
