"I have no complaints, it was very clean and above my expectations, staff was friendly very friendly and also very helpful. They told me the heat in the room I was given possibly didn’t work and had provided a heater which actually wasn’t needed since heat was indeed working. Overall my only complaint is there a few spots that I don’t think are cleaned often such as windowsills. Bed sheets towels and everything else was very clean. "Very quaint and cozy. Harry, our host, was amazing. Provided great fishing and a complimentary bottle of wine. It is an off grid cabin with exceptional service. Would definitely stay again!"

"My cousins and I very much enjoyed our 2nd stay at the Matteson’s rental cabin. It’s the perfect home base for a trip to Old Forge. It has everything you need - comfy beds, a nice bathroom with shower, kitchen with fridge, microwave, and regular coffee maker, and a fire pit. We were grateful for the air conditioning too. Bridget is a kind and responsive host. We hope to come back ASAP! :)"

"The house met all of my expectations. Plenty of towels were provided and extra linens were available as well. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook and make coffee. The house is exactly as pictured. The neighborhood is a nice quiet neighborhood, I felt safe. "The area is all antique homes. Alot of farm land. I always thought New York was just cement and high rises."

"very nice stay and even nicer host. was very responsive and answered every question. property is very clean, and a stones throw from the lake. perfect place to decompress and enjoy nature. i highly recommend this chalet and host. Will definitely use them again."

"Beautiful cabin in a rural NY setting. Lindsay was an excellent host, with a rapid turn around response for my inquiries. Due to car trouble we needed to stay an extra night, which was available! The cabin was clean, the fire pit was wonderful, there was lots of birds and I also saw 2 toads. Would absolutely stay here again."

"The home is in great shape with a beautiful view of the lake. It is a little challenging to actually use the lake from here."

"I had a last minute family emergency and needed a place to stay, quick! This Caroga Lake location was available and it worked out wonderfully. The location was great and the size was perfect. Communication with the host was wonderful. I accidentally locked myself out (whoops 😂) and the issue was resolved within a reasonable time. Would definitely stay here again"

So many great kid friendly hiking trails near by, clean swim area and a clean and comfortable cabin to rest, read and play games. Location was across the road from the lake so no private access but state run access about a mile down the road. The beds/bedrooms are on the smaller side so if you are over 6 feet tall your feet might hang off the end of the bed but shouldn't be a dealbreaker.
