Place has potential to be great, however there are several misses on the property. Great deck to the lake, nice parking and lots of room. But lots of things are falling apart or are broken in the house, including many outlets in the basement. There was a challenge with the hot water, and when we had told the owner, they did not really care as they didn’t respond. Things that were broken: window, coffee carafe, hardware for bathroom hooks, microwave handle, dishwasher not mounted to counter and falls out, pool table pockets falling out, smoke detectors pulled off the ceiling, Wi-Fi doesn’t cover the whole house, hot water was a challenge, and finally 5 forks in the whole house!

Unresponsive host

The place had great potential from the photos. The town of Bobcageon is only a 14 drive and it has a cute little town for groceries, ice cream and shoes! We arrived on Friday at 4pm check-in and the cleaner was still there so went to the town until 5:15pm. The bathrooms and showers need a proper scrub. The microwave door handle was broken, the dishwasher was clogged which was pooling with an inch of water. On top of that the Smoke Detector kept beeping every 30 seconds which indicates end of life. We tried connecting with the host and no response back. A bit frustrating but on Sunday morning before check out he finally picked up. Just think if they fixed these issues and gave the bathrooms a good clean it really has good potential. The lake was nice and warm and we used the canoe/kayak which was nice and life jackets provided. Bring cutlery since there isn’t enough spoons and forks :)

The cottage has some very nice qualities BUT there are a number of things that are unacceptable. For instance backed up toilets that don’t get fixed, refrigerates that don’t work, screens that are ripped and you get a raccoon in the middle of the living room staring at you, a dishwasher that is not secure , no garbage tags or instructions and that is just a few.Also not told about cameras outside

Our family and friends really enjoyed the house and all the amenities. The house is beautiful with lots of room for our 3 families. But the best part was the 2 tiered deck and dock right on the gorgeous lake. Sunsets were mesmerizing as well. We loved our stay here and would give it a solid recommendation.

Not worth it

The property has so much potential but unfortunately it isn’t well maintained or properly managed. When we arrived there were dishes in the dishwasher, leftover laundry in the machines and the coffee maker was broken. There was also garbage and old furniture all over the yard. We stayed in July and the air conditioner was broken - we tried contacting the host several times and received no response. We ended up having to contact VRBO and it took them several hours to get a hold of the host, who eventually offered us a discount. There were also no check out instructions. I wouldn’t recommend staying here! It’s unfortunate, because the cottage/water view is beautiful.

A Great Place to Stay With Some Slight Room for Improvement

A wonderful home with enough space to comfortably accommodate many adults wanting to spend a relaxing time by the lake. I think any group that books this place will have a good time.I would recommend being aware of how much hot water is being used. A lot of our group couldn't take a shower that wasn't freezing.Some clearer instructions on how to deal with the garbage would also be appreciated. Nothing is listed as part of the checkout instructions, but attempting to follow the steps listed in the listing (ie drop the garbage of at the transfer station) will lead to the attendants (assuming you went to the correct transfer station for this cottage, which also isn't specified) telling you that a sticker is needed to allow you to dump your garbage.

Excellent property with amazing view and location

Went over a weekend with couple of friends and absolutely enjoyed our stay. All my friends were pleasantly surprised with the location, view and overall arrangements that were made by the Host to accommodate us. The property had everything to offer and we left the property extremely happy, positive experience and looking forward to come back again.
