The Villa

Thalia Getaway is private self-contained luxury accommodation for couples / families, and can accommodate up to 6 people with three Queen size beds and two single beds. (3rd Queen size only by arrangement) Located 8 km out of Murray Bridge towards Mannum on the Adelaide side of the Murray River in South Australia's Riverland Region.
Within walking distance of the river.

The Villa is on 6 acres surrounded by 100 year old peppercorn trees, pines, and gums, it offers an unusual retreat from modern lifestyle.

Thalia Getaway offers a blend of country living with the luxury of modern comforts. The house has been extensively renovated with modern kitchen, Luxury bathroom (With double bath), reverse cycle ducted air conditioning and wood fire, but still retaining its charm of yesterday.

Continental breakfast is provided for your first morning, along with a complimentary bottle of wine for your arrival.

Entertainment:- 44' TV with DVD player, iPod / I phone dock player, in house DVD's books.

Cooking:- Well equipped Country kitchen, with electric oven / cook top. Microwave oven, fridge freezer, and out door barbecue.

Linen:- Linen supplied with luxury Alpac quilts and electric blankets.

Comfort:- Reverse cycle ducted air conditioning, slow combustion wood fire, double bath, and rainforest shower.

Laundry:- Washing machine, and ironing board

Other:- Under cover parking

Custom:- 6 acre private property for your exclusive enjoyment, 2 double bed rooms with Colonial Queen size beds, ( a third double can be made available by arrangement) One double bedroom with 2 single beds, Lounge room. dinning room, Family kitchen area, Out door setting with barbecue.

Our stay was awesome. The house is beautiful an it had everything we needed.Not far to travel to the speedway or back into town.. easy to communicate with Richard & dianne. (The dog didn't visit so we went an saw him.Can highly recommend this property. The cranston family through the fence

Perfect Country Getaway

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Thalia. From the welcoming bottle of wine, yummy breakfast supplies and friendly blue wrens and abundant bird life, we could not fault our stay. Access was smooth and easy, beds were comfy and the outdoor aesthetics absolutely charming. Would highly recommend.

Spectacular place to relax and unwind

Thalia getaway is a wonderful property steeped in character and history and surrounded by nature. My partner and I stayed for two nights and we were sad to leave! Richard and Diane were warm and welcoming hosts and made the remote check-in process smooth. On arrival we were instantly in love with the beautiful home and surrounding garden hosting a range of friendly bird life. There were many added touches that made the stay convenient and comforting such as the wood fire and supplies stocked, the breakfast foods and local wine. The DVDs made for a nice evening entertainment. There wasn't a single thing we thought the place was missing or we wished we were supplied by the hosts. It was truly a comprehensive service. Like other reviews, it's worth repeating that the photos simply don't do it justice. The architecture and renovation of the home has been done in a great way that balances a mix of modern and heritage - some of the interior pieces reminded me of the home I grew up in as a kid. We thank Richard and Diane for sharing their magical getaway and appreciate the love and care that has gone in to the place. Cannot recommend enough to others considering staying. We look forward to visiting again, hopefully for longer next time!

Wonderful heritage home in beautiful rural location

Highly recommended. Thalia was even better than the pictures. Everything you could need is provided. Generous fresh breakfast supplies, cooking implements, lovely heritage furniture, great big bath. Spacious. Lovely outdoor areas. Close to the river. Feel like you're in the middle of nowhere even though you're not far from Mount Barker or Adelaide. Lovely hosts. Thanks for having me!

A wonderful in a beautiful, tranquil part of the Murray

My friends and I had a wonderful weekend at Thalia. The house has all the modern conveniences and has peace and tranquility from arrival to departure. The wood fire and excess of wood was greatly appreciated in the cold weather. It would have been helpful if we were asked how many rooms we required, as to have one locked was frustrating for a group of friends (not partners). Also the rain shower head was broken, but at least there was another to use.

Wonderful escape from the city
