I’m sorry that you had this experience. We have over 600 5-star reviews across multiple platforms and in over 3 years of hosting I don’t think we have ever had anyone be so unhappy while staying in our villa. What I find most perplexing about this situation is that out of the numerous things you mentioned negatively in your review, you only messaged me about two items. You asked whether we had cable TV and said that the screen door was difficult to move. Other than that, we had little to no communication during your stay. I checked in with you on the morning after you arrived and I followed up again that afternoon to ask if everything was okay. You did not respond. It says on our listing that we have Netflix but not cable TV. It is best if you read the listing before booking so you know what amenities are offered. In addition, typically it is considered unfair to the host to give a bad review about something specified in the listing since you were informed about it before you booked. We repaired the screen door upon your check-out in order to make it easier to move and to minimize any disruption to your stay. Sorry for any inconvenience that may have caused you. The heater is a mini-split system with AC and heat, so the mode on the remote control must be set to heat in order for it to work. Had you messaged me, I could have provided that information. The heat does work and no other guests have complained as evidenced by our numerous positive reviews. In Mexico, the plumbing is not designed to accept toilet paper and the toilet will clog if you flush it. You’ll find that throughout Mexico, toilet paper is placed in trash cans next to the toilet so that is not unique to our villa. We ask guests to keep the cover on the shower drain as a precaution to keep any bugs/pests out of the villa. There is a hair dryer and beach towels in the villa. There is also an extra blanket in the top of every bedroom closet. If you had messaged me to ask, I could have told you where those items were located. The beach certainly has sand. Whether it is packed down or loose is dependent on the tides etc. and unfortunately that is something outside of our control. In the future, I would recommend messaging your hosts about issues/concerns in order to give them the opportunity to help. It is disheartening to read such a review where many of the items you mentioned could have easily been remedied with a little communication.
