"The accommodation was absolutely spot on and I cannot recommend it enough. Easy to find, central location with parking round the corner. Joseph the host was attentive and gave clear instructions of check in etc. The room was beautifully decorated and clean. Super dog friendly too. The staff at the Seadog pub were brilliant. We even had dinner and drinks there, such a nice pub. If you’re staying in Hastings definitely book yourself in here."

Sauberkeit im Zimmer was gut, aber im Badezimmer hätten so einige Sachen mal gesäubert werden können, die wahrscheinlich schon ewig keinen Putzlappen mehr gesehen haben. "Room, bathroom and bedding were very clean. Room had lovely sea views as it was on the 4th floor. There are no lifts so the hotel might not be suitable for the elderly or disabled. The TV didn't work in our room, we were offered a different room but we refused. We were, however, able to watch TV in an unoccupied room. The staff were friendly but quite often nowhere to be seen. "Very nice location, the hotel is just next to the beach. The room is not that bad great view from the room (sea view). The room is hot during summer time and if you are not used to the weather it’s very bad, no electric fan. The hotel doesn’t have parking and that makes life more difficult."

"There were some lovely touches about the general accommodation such as pretty chandeliers, nice artwork and grand mirrors. We were in room 6 which was advertised as lacking natural light, this was fine, but the decor was so dark and such a dull lightbulb, it made the room feel so dingy. There was no plug point near the mirror, so doing hair was difficult. On the plus side the bed was very comfortable and there was a lovely big fan in the room to help combat the heat. "I stayed in the middle of a heatwave, the bedroom had paper thin curtains so was woken by the light at 5am. The room was also boiling, tho they gave me a small fan. The chef had left so no food available in the evening. Breakfast were adequate (tho somehow unable to do poached eggs???) The shower was great, but the whole hotel is extremely tired and needs a huge amount of updating. It had an air of Fawlty Towers about it"

"The grounds are stunning with so much potential but it feels very much a work in progress. We used paddle boards on the lake, which was fab but an additional charge on top of a very expensive room. The sauna wasn’t quite up to heat, we stoked the wood burning hot tub for a dip, tried the lake to cool off and the cold plunge was unfortunately empty. The room was nice and clean. I booked the junior suite but ended up getting a suite. It didn’t feel any more special than a deluxe room elsewhere...

"What a beautiful location! Lovely hotel in a perfect spot. The staff were all so freindly and helpful, especially the extremely polite dark haired gentleman at the bar when we arrived. He took the trouble to show me to the room and explained everything. The breakfast was also very good, great choice and lovely to sit with a view of the Abbey. Would love to stay here again and would highly recommend."

"We enjoyed our one night stay in this historic pub, with free off street parking. Battle is a wonderful village full of history and we really enjoyed the evening exploring the town and enjoying the vista. The hotel is small, old and quaint. The room was small,but comfortable with a private bathroom with shower,along with complimentary tea and coffee. Would recommend this Inn for exploring this historic area of East Sussex."

"Lovely Hotel at the top of Rye close to the church and the castle. Staff were friendly and helpful the breakfast was excellent with a large choice of items from continental and cooked food avaliiable plus hot drinks or juices.Our room was clean and comfortable perfect for our long weekend stay. I would highly recommend this Hotel."

"Quaint town, great location. Staff very helpful, took my bag to the room, necessary given a twisty set of hallways (charming) which entailed 3-4 step sections. Bar open until 11:30pm a plus, breakfast good. If you are there in the summer and it’s hot, ask for a fan. They have them and needed as there is no a/c."

"Lovely hotel, restaurant, bar, in an excellent location for shopping etc in Rye. Very good value for money. There is no free car parking but the pay & display/RINGO is immediately next door and less than a tenner a day. We can highly recommend this hotel."
