    The Umundumhütte, our comfortable holiday home in alpine hut style, is situated on a meadow at the edge of the forest, in a quiet location, on a mountain road with little traffic and only one neighbouring house. Beautiful, extensive hiking trails lead right behind the house up into the woods, past a lonely church and abundant mushroom patches. The small village of Katsch is only 3 kilometres away and there is also a small supermarket and the district town of Murau with its many shops is only 10 km away.
    The Kreischberg, Lachtal and Grebenzen ski areas can be easily reached in 25 minutes.
    For motorsport fans, the RedBullRing in Spielberg is just 35 minutes away and attracts visitors with its many interesting events.
    The surrounding mountains are a paradise for hikers as you can be in the centre of the most beautiful hiking areas in just 30 minutes.

    With its 80 m² of living space on two levels, the hut offers enough space for four people in 2 separate bedrooms. On the ground floor, you enter the cosy kitchen-cum-living room with dishwasher and coffee machine, electric cooker with oven, a tiled stove and a seating area for six people through a small entrance hall with cloakroom. Right next door is the bedroom with a cosy pine double bed (2.00 m x 1.80 m). In this room there is also a Samsung flat screen TV with satellite TV as well as a country-style wardrobe and a chest of drawers full of board games. From the kitchen/living room you can access the beautiful conservatory on the mountain side of the hut. In this bright space, a table and a bench made of light-coloured pine wood invite you to linger and relax. A staircase leads from the entrance area to the lower part of the house. The WC with underfloor heating, mirror, washbasin and boiler is immediately to the left. Next to it is the large barrier-free shower with underfloor heating. There is also a nice chest of drawers in the hallway with lots of interesting books for bookworms. Then you enter the large twin bedroom or "star room", furnished with a four-poster bed (2.00 m x 2.00 m), bedside cabinet, country-style wardrobe, Bluetooth radio, Samsung flat-screen TV with satellite TV and a washbasin with mirror and hairdryer. There are therefore two flat screen televisions in the holiday home. The entire cottage is heated by central and solar heating, as well as a cosy and very efficient tiled stove. WLAN is available free of charge in all rooms.

    From the conservatory, a door leads outside onto the terrace with wooden furniture and you are already in the fenced garden that surrounds three sides of the hut. Ideal for families with small children and dog owners. On the right-hand side of the hut is the wooden hut where the firewood is available for free use. Next to it, built into the slope, is the spacious garage with room for a car. The rubbish collection area is also located there. There is enough space in front of the garage for one or two more cars. Wooden benches around the hut invite you to linger and rustic wooden deckchairs make you want to take a midday nap. And on beautiful summer evenings, the charcoal barbecue is of course used and you can enjoy a barbecue in the midst of nature.

    The special charm of the hut lies in its proximity to the farm, which is only 200 metres away, behind a hill. So you can retreat and enjoy the peace and quiet or hike up into the woods behind the hut.
    The farm is also home to many animals, including horses, dwarf goats, ducks, chickens, pigs and playful kittens as well as three cute cocker spaniels.

    Katsch is only three kilometres away. Katsch is a small village with 600 inhabitants at the end of the beautiful Katsch valley where the Katschbach flows into the Mur. There is a small supermarket with freshly baked bread rolls, a few businesses and many farms. The old Katsch ruins watch over the idyllic village. Many mountain farms are located up to over 1200 metres above sea level on the slopes of the surrounding mountains of the Murtaler Berge and Wölzer Tauern, in the middle of a wonderful hiking paradise with many alpine pastures, mountain lakes and the most beautiful mountain valleys.

    If you are looking for action, Spielberg at the RedBullRing is just 45 kilometres away. There you can become a racing driver yourself or visit the most interesting events almost every weekend. Playworld with its large trampoline park and race restaurant is also close by.
    The fairytale forest in St. Georgen is a hit with children. Hidden in the forest, there are many little houses with moving fairy-tale characters to discover as well as a modern indoor mini-golf course.
    There are three ski areas within a radius of just 20 minutes. The Kreischberg, the Grebenzen and the Lachtal offer great skiing fun for young and old.
