Wander through to the kitchen to make a cup of tea to enjoy with a fresh scone from a bakery in town or to prepare the next meal using the Devon ingredients you have sourced. The family bathroom is also downstairs and there is access to the utility room. When eyelids begin to droop and it is time to turn in for the night, climb the stairs to your inviting, cottage-style bedrooms on the first floor. These include a standard double bedroom and a smaller double, with an en-suite shower room. Spill out into the lovely, English country garden on spring and summer days. Dine out here as often as possible and keep your eyes open for visiting feathered friends. Parking for the cottage is on the road, subject to availability.

Amble just over 0.5 miles to browse the colourful stalls of Tavistock Panier Market. Plan a trip out to the National Trust’s Buckland Abbey, 7 miles away. Here, you can explore the house where Sir Francis Drake once lived and walk through the Elizabethan garden. Surround yourself with beauty at Lydford Gorge, 8.5 miles away, too. With a 30-metre-high waterfall, there are different wooded footpaths to follow here.
