West Yankee - In Town - Pet Friendly - Satellite - Washer/Dryer - On Main Street

West Yankee is a beautiful three-bedroom, three-bathroom home that is located on the west end of Red River, New Mexico. This home has just been recently upgraded with all new furniture, flooring, countertops, etc. We love our pets and we know that you do too! West Yankee is pet friendly, please contact our office staff for any questions or pricing! There are no steps to the entrance and once you walk into the door you will see the large open kitchen. Here you will have the ease of a gas log fireplace, and above that is the large flat-screen TV with a DVD player giving guests the option of watching satellite or movies brought from home. The living room also has a sleeper sofa that can be pulled out to make a double bed. The kitchen has plenty of counter space and cabinet space to store things brought into the home. The appliances are all new and all stainless steel. Guests that choose to stay in the West Yankee are able to enjoy several amenities such as a washer/dryer, and a gas BBQ grill(gas cylinder provided, courtesy of Red River Real Estate) that can be found at the front of the home. The first bedroom is equipped with a king bed, a flat-screen TV, and access to a private bathroom. The second has a queen bed, a flat-screen TV, and access to a private bathroom. The third bedroom is equipped with a queen bed, a flat-screen TV, and access to the hallway full bathroom next to where the washer/dryer is located. There is a small semi-private sleeping area towards the entry of the home. There is a set of twin bunk beds in this little area.
$75 per pet/2 pet max, charged separately by the property management company after booking.

Not as Advertised…

This property is advertised as a 3 bedroom. It is a 2 br with a sunroom with a double skylight that makes this room uninhabitable in the Summer, therefore our sleeping situation was bad. Management could not even change the direction of the fan to Summer, which also worsened the situation. This room does not have windows to vent the hot air. I have grown up coming to Red River. I understand it is hot, no AC, but the sunroom is not a bedroom, would work in the Winter! Also we did not have a living room light. Management said it was a special order bulb. This made it hard to see cards etc.. Fix that in between guests! The rest of the property was nice. The owner of the company was nice, and tried to help, but honestly needed relocated. The no 3rd br thing was a deal breaker. Also, ON Main! I thought it was more set off. However Red River remains to be our favorite mountain getaway for many generations!

Communication was not very good , but we made it! Once inside there were quite a few things that were broken! Not enough pots and pans, skillets for the group! Bugs and ants In one of the bedrooms so the teenagers had to sleep in the living room!

Great House!

This is a great house to stay in! We had plenty of room. The kitchen, dining, living area are good size. It was nice having 3 bathrooms. The only problems we ran in to were, check-in was 3:00. We didn't get to check in until around 6:00. That was very inconvenient! We had plans when we got to town to check in and hit a trail. We waited around awhile, then went up a trail and got the text our place was ready, so we had to come back so we could get checked in. Also the pin on the website is actually on the wrong house. It's on a private property which we went to and the lady was really nice and told us where the correct property was. After the first night the washing machine wouldn't spin out the water. We notified the property manager and was told it would be looked at while we were riding. It wasn't looked at. They don't supply fresh towels because there is a washer and dryer. It says on the papers that there is laundry detergent there but we looked everywhere and couldn't find it. Needless to say, we needed fresh towels. Otherwise, the property is great! It even has more parking than I expected.

Red River is our favorite place to vacation. We love cool weather and fishing

The cabin was a big disappointment. It smelled like urine. The bedrooms and bathrooms were small and were add ons to the cabin. Red River Reality did not communicate about check in or anything else before we arrived in Red River. I had to call them. They were very short and unfriendly on the phone .
