Sorry Jon. Our home is a multi-million dollar estate. As such, we greet each of our guests, personally, to ensure they understand how our home works, what to be aware of and how to operate everything so to minimize/eliminate any possible problems they may encounter, to answer any questions they may have regarding our home, neighborhood, and the surrounding area, make sure they can connect to the internet, provide them keys, and inform them on how to be bear safe in our home. Many homes and cars, in the greater North Lake Tahoe area, have been broken into by bears, some while occupied. It would be remiss not to inform a guest how to minimize and/or avoid that potential danger.

While Andrew and his guests, that were many, seemed nice enough, they left our home in poor condition. Enough so, that their deposit was not refunded. Regarding the occupied studio: the studio quarters are usually occupied by the owner when guests are in the home, as Placer County mandates that a designated responsible party is able to respond to any issues within an hour of notification. Our description is now clear. Thank you for bringing that to our attention. We did give Andrew the opportunity to have us come in and water the plants, if he so desired. He declined. This has never been an issue with any of our guests in the past. Watering the plants takes 5 minutes. The couch and coffee table Andrew claims is not present is a false claim. Both items are in the great room, and are placed as pictured in the photo of the entire great room. The nuances to maintain the property? Watering the plants, once during their stay? Our home did not feel private as hoped. Is that because you threw a rager and there were complaints or because you had so many others coming and going during your stay? Not sure what Covid had to do with this, but I did notice that none of you wore masks when I was asked to check out the internet connection. Andrew, we've had enough. Due to your antics, we have decided not to rent our home for quite a while. Your behavior reflects poorly upon the generation of Millenials and is another reason why it's earned its reputation as "the generation of the entitled." Do us, and the world-at-large, a favor. Grow up. Be respectful of another's home and property. We spent 2 years of our lives creating this home and do our best to keep it maintained property so our guests can relax and have the best experience possible when they stay here. We are fortunate that most of our guests recognize this and are respectful and caring of our home.

Steve, while the damages caused weren’t created with malicious intent, the way you're trying to resolve it is. Virtually everyone’s provided 5 star reviews and now our home deteriorates to a "tired" facility of 1 star from the previous guest's stay to yours? Some statements in your review are False & Slanderous: 1. We did not refinish the entire 2,850 sq.ft. of flooring, nor even the entire wood floor areas of the home. 2. We returned more than 2/3 of your deposit. 3.a. Our rental agreement, which you accepted, clearly states that "The Garage, Office (4th. bedroom) and Art Studio (Separate Space, sometimes occupied occasionally) are not included as part of the rental property, or the aforementioned sq. ft. calculations of the home." b. You were informed there was no access to the garage. c. You were informed the Art Studio was/could be occupied. d. I stayed the first night and awoke early to clear the driveway and brush the snow off your vehicles, so you could drive away at your leisure, without having to do anything whatsoever. Since it wasn't supposed to snow any subsequent nights, I left for the remainder of your stay. Is this what you refer to when you say I have "strange habits?" Yes, I guess it's strange to receive service like that these days...isn't it? Check the other reviews, you'll see you're not the only one for which we performed that service. 4. "The owner supplied the box of Legos." Also state that it was the adults, in your group, that picked that box up, carried it downstairs and placed it on the great room floor where your 20 month old was at liberty to push it around the floors, which created the damages. 5. About the sticky notes - mention that it was only in the master bathroom and that you had two other drawers available for your use, as well as the two areas below the sinks. 6. We asked you to "find another place to stay for any of your future visits to Tahoe because of the damages your party created.” That is why you’ll never stay here again. Your inattentiveness & lack of common sense tainted your good time. Is abiding by the rules & having common sense an "unrealistic expectation?" Once informed of the damages, your email response to us threatened you'd write a bad review if you didn't get more of your deposit back than the repairs cost. Lying about our agreement, and speaking poorly of our home, in your review after sending us that email, speaks volumes about your intent.

Hi Pete, I'm glad I was there to help you with your car and charge your battery overnight, so you didn't have to spend 1/2 a day driving back and forth to exchange your car for another one. It is dismaying to be docked a star for not having cable, when it is specifically stated, up front, in the rental agreement for your review before making and paying for a reservation. We purposefully have no cable for the TV (only DVD's) so our guests can focus their time on being with family and friends. We're glad you enjoyed your stay here and that you took such good care of our home.
