Originally a pineapple farm owned by a buddhist, you can experience peace and quiet at this serene, secluded retreat. Just 10 mins drive from Montville and 25 mins from Maleny. Fire up the wood-fired pizza oven for pizza, soak in the hand made outdoor bath or enjoy the abundant bird life. Includes free wifi, premium linen, firewood and Nespresso coffee. Into the Woods is a cozy, fully-equipped couples' retreat set in the heart of the hinterland, offering everything you need for a memorable getaway. Roast marshmallows by the outdoor fire pit and soak under the stars, make your own wood-fired pizzas or drink a wine at sunset overlooking the dam and stables.

The cottage has a full fledged kitchen including a Nespresso machine for your daily coffee fix. We offer a starter pack for breakfast which includes tea, Nespresso cups, small milk, local honey, butter, eggs, sugar, and a seasonal treat. Do let us know if you have any dietary requirements and we will accommodate this. We offer a gas cooktop, Our Place Wonder Oven, outdoor wood fire pizza oven and gas Weber BBQ (Note: we do not offer a microwave). We provide all the necessary equipment to make your own home-made pizzas with the exception of the firewood.

The living area includes a linen sofa, which is perfect to relax on. You can access Netflix through the Smart TV or read a book. We offer a four person dining table where you can also play games or do some work if needed.

The bedroom has a comfortable four poster canopy bed with premium linen and lush garden views. The cottage has air-conditioning and fans to keep cool during the warmer months. An additional duvet is also offered during the cooler months if required. The bedroom connects to the bathroom which includes a full size mirror, river stone basin and shower.

Two outdoor seating areas are exclusively available for our guests. One of the outdoor seating areas includes a fireplace, adirondack lounge chairs and a hand-made outdoor bath tub. The outdoor bath tub includes both hot and cold water for all seasons and comfortably fits two people. The other outdoor seating area overlooks the dam and includes a wood-fired pizza oven and gas Weber BBQ. Make sure you look up at night as the sky is often covered in stars!

We offer a package of firewood which includes a lighter, firelighters, marshmallows, marshmallow forks and firewood. If you would like more firewood during your stay, you can purchase this at $20 per bag.

Guests have full access to the entire cottage and its surroundings including the scenic dam. The outdoor areas, including the fire pit, wood-fired pizza oven, and handmade outdoor bath, are exclusively for your use. Enjoy complete privacy and seclusion during your stay.

Into the Woods is close to several cute villages (Palmwoods - 5 minute drive; Montville - 10 minute drive; Maleny - 25 minute drive) where you can shop locally. Put on your hiking boots with Kondalilla Falls a 15 min drive away. Or if you get tired of the rolling hills, you can escape to the seaside to Mooloolaba (25 min drive). You can of course venture further, experience Noosa within 45 mins.

We are spoiled for choice in the hinterland but we have a few treasures only a 5 min drive away in Palmwoods which you won't want to miss. Our favourite brunch spot close by is Homegrown Cafe. This cafe is set in a beautiful garden with simple, home made produce. Make sure you try the eggs in spiced beans with goats cheese and coriander. Looking to have some drinks? Check out Ricks in Palmwoods for a unique experience. A transformed garage with retro memorabilia, its own whisky bar and yummy burgers. We also love The Shed, a bank of rustic old railways sheds where you can browse an extensive range of vintage treasures. Enjoy a drink or some nibbles as you watch the trains go by.

Into the Woods is less than 5km from the Palmwoods train station (6 minute drive). There are direct trains from Brisbane to Palmwoods. We can pick you up at the train station if needed. Sunshine Coast Airport is less than 25km from the cottage (22 minute drive).

We do however highly recommend having a car to enjoy the beautiful hinterland. We offer free parking in front of the cottage. Please bear in mind that this is not a covered parking space. We have a covered parking space a two minute walk from the cottage if preferred. We have plenty of space to park a trailer for surfboards canoes, mountain bikes or a boat if needed.

Other Details to Note:

- Privacy: You’ll have complete privacy during your stay, though we live next door in a separate dwelling.
- Amenities: All amenities are listed; if something is not mentioned (e.g., microwave, iron, or iron board), we do not provide it.
- Pet: We have a friendly dog who loves attention. He’ll be kept on a leash and away from the cottage if you’re not a dog fan.
- Nature: The property is surrounded by natural bushland, and you may encounter insects or reptiles (e.g., spiders and snakes). We have a snake repeller near the dam and recommend wearing enclosed shoes when walking.
- Wildlife Sounds: Expect occasional distant sounds of cars and motorbikes, but mostly the peaceful calls of birds and frogs.
- Outdoor Fire: We provide firewood, fire starters, and marshmallow forks for your outdoor fire. Extra firewood can be purchased for $20 per bag.
- Septic System: Please be mindful of the products you use as we have a septic system.
- Mobile Reception: Telstra offers reliable mobile reception; other networks may be limited. Free WiFi is provided.
- Children: No children are allowed due to the dam on the property. We are happy to accommodate infants (under 1 year old), provided you bring your own baby gear (crib, blanket, etc.).
