Secluded Mountain Cabin with Spectacular Views- Hiker's Dream

4WD/AWD REQUIRED!!
This newly constructed cabin is extremely secluded and has unbelievable views of the Shenandoah Valley from the top of Great North Mountain. The cabin features a sprawling deck with 2 porch swings, an outside dining space and a grill. The upstairs of the Cabin has 2 bedrooms with a bathroom off the master as well as an additional full bathroom. The kitchen is fully stocked for cooking with seating at the island as well has a dining room table. Finished basement features a desk, pull out couch for additional sleeping, full bathroom, and dart board. The game room has a pool table and air hockey table. This cabin is a hikers dream with private access to the Tuscarora Trail and near many amazing hiking spots, including Eagle Rock.
**Please Note: You MUST have an All-Wheel drive or 4-Wheel Drive vehicle regardless of weather conditions. The route to the cabin is very long and steep. We highly recommend that you get there before dark and if you will be arriving late we ask that you let us know so we can prepare accordingly.

INCLEMENT WEATHER. Safety is a huge priority for us and we will be monitoring for icy or snowy conditions. If this occurs, the driveway could potentially be too dangerous to travel. If the driveway is unsafe to travel, we will inform guests as soon as possible and discuss their options.

We will block the months of January until April on VRBO but feel free to reach out if you are interested in booking during these months. Because of weather, we will take it on a case by case basis based on road conditions and the weather forecast.

INSECTS. Since the cabin is in the woods, certain times of year there can be more insects than normal, primarily stink bugs and ladybugs.

Amazing!

If you need a time off and relax this is the right place just to be by yourself and family. The place is beautiful the details in the house are perfect. They provide you with everything you need. We had a great time just relaxing, talking, eating, drinking coffee and playing games. I would highly recommend it as I am looking forward to come back again. Thank you.

Amazing views from the mountaintop

The perfect Thanksgiving family venue! This place has amazing views, the backyard is a hiking trail, it has a huge fireplace that we kept going our entire stay, plenty of games, plenty of space for your own fun or relaxation and a huge deck with swings to enjoy the views!! Would highly recommend this to anyone with AWD or 4WD!!

Spectacular view

This was the most perfect place to stay. The entire home was incredibly clean and had everything we needed. The view is stunning, and the outlook was a perfect place to watch the sunrise. The host was very responsive and helpful. I would not have changed a single thing about this trip and we will definitely be back.

Secluded and perfect!

Fantastic stay! Our host was great and there were no issues or hiccups but if there had been I'm sure they would have been resolved quickly. I cant say enough about this place. Clean, high end and just as peaceful as it seems in the pictures. The decks and views are AMAZING!! Highly recommended and we plan to be back there again!

Tranquil, Quite, Refreshing

This is a beautiful property with amazing views and privacy. The house is very well equipped and the host is very responsive. We saw lots of deer, turkey, grouse, and lots of other birds. The view of storms rolling through we great and even had full view of a double rainbow in the valley. I also hiked over to Eagle Rock and enjoyed the spectacular view from there. The kitchen had most everything needed for cooking, baking, and grilling. If youā€™re going to cook a lot I would suggest bringing your own knives. Iā€™m pretty picky in this area, so if you like to cook youā€™ll know what I mean. If you decide to visit Almost Heaven you wonā€™t regret it!

Secluded, quiet and very well designed.

The cabin is a recent build and everything is very well designed and laid out. It is very welcoming and cozy. Everything about the cabin feels intentional and thoughtful. For example the new upper deck lookout off the cabin deck obviously took a lot of work but adds a beautiful 360 degree view of the horizon and a view of the sunset. The views are stunning, pictures can't do them justice. The host was perfectly attentive to checking in with us and helping with some weather related questions but not at all intrusive during our stay. An enthusiastic 5 stars for sure! It is secluded but not far from town. In the week we were at the cabin we only saw 1 car drive past the cabin, it is THAT secluded. We loved it! It was by far the most quiet and peaceful stay we have ever had. This was the perfect place to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary.

Amazing Views

Fun ride up the mountain brought us to a jaw dropping view of this beautiful home . The views from everywhere were amazing and make sure you take a couple chairs up to the new lookout point. Will be back

Exceptional Views - Secluded and Perfect for a Quiet Vacation

We loved our stay here. I cannot emphasize how gorgeous the views from the cabin are. The drive to the cabin takes a while but the views make it completely worth it. The cabin was perfect for our quiet family vacation as it is far from other cabins. The cabin was extremely clean and well appointed. The check in process and directions were clear. Overall this helped us enjoy our vacation. Definitely looking to be back!

Peaceful Motherā€™s Day weekend on top of a mountain.

The pictures and description are 100% accurate, but being there in person to take in the peaceful surroundings and views of nature with the family was a great experience. The hostess was responsive from the moment we booked and provided all the info we needed to make it to this mountain top cabin on the VA/WV border. We drove up on a Friday and after getting out of DC traffic we were on our way to Almost Heaven cabin. When weā€™re about a mile or so from the cabin we saw a black bear crossing the driveway/pathwayā€¦amazing! The hostess advised that we bring everything we needed and this was great advise as it is about 20-25 minutes off any main roadā€¦probly 40 minuted to nearest gas/store. The cabin was extremely clean with a recreation room on first floor (tons of board games, cornhole boards, billiards and air hockey) w/full bath and a pullout couch. Upstairs had 2 bedrooms, beautiful kitchen, living, dining and a huge covered porch that wrapped 1/2 of houseā€¦it was a bit cold, but we still spent a ton of time on the porch taking in views of mountains and valley.. lots of birds and nature to take in! Saturday we went for a hike (trails right behind house) and did some cornhole on the porch and board games during a late afternoon and then an evening rain storm. We cooked on grill both night, although the se and night there was a rain storm for a few hours that made grilling quite the adventure. Peaceful, relaxing time. Would definitely repeat! 10/10!

Unforgettable View!!

Our drive up to the cabin was adventurous! It was late, dark, rainy and the roads were very windy! At the end of the gravel we saw the cabin amongst the clouds. When we walked inside it was so beautiful! The aesthetics and design were stunning, modern, simplistic and beautiful. In the morning when we woke up we saw the mesmerizing view. It is the most unforgettable view you'll ever see. Our whole stay was perfect! With cooking family meals in the fully equipped kitchen, to playing family games, to watching sunset and sunrise on the huge deck! This cabin is worth the stay! Loved it so much!

Amazing cabin

Beautiful cabin on a peaceful ridge in the mountains. My husband and I spent the weekend with our friends and had an amazing time. The cabin is decorated very tastefully with a beautiful kitchen. The bathrooms are very nice and I will be copying them in my own bathroom remodel :) There were plenty of fun games at the cabin like corn hole, pool and ski ball. My favorite were the porch swings looking over the mountain. Breathtaking in the morning!!! Will definitely be coming back :)

Beautiful

If you need a place to stay in the Winchester/ Shenandoah Valley area this is a must. All around it is a beautiful place, decorated to perfection and incredibly clean. The cabin is located at the very top of Great North Mnt, with a view to die for. They should hang signs inside that say welcome to West Virginia and Welcome to Virginia. Pretty sure it is situated smack on the state line. Hahahaha!!!!!
