"Room didn’t look anything like the picture. Plain gray room with cement walls. No pictures hanging. Floor was extremely dirty. We were traveling with an 11 month old and after being in the car all day I let her crawl around for a few minutes in the room. Within minutes her pants and feet were almost black. No bathtub which was showed in photos. We were put in a joining room next to a room that had 5 grown men yelling at each other and slamming doors. Also they advertised free breakfast but...

"Literally right off the exit, the Wingate was surprisingly quiet. I was greeted nicely and carts were by the door to bring luggage upstairs. The desk clerk was helpful in sharing directions and breakfast was very good. It was an overall great stay and if the pool heater is repaired next time I travel through, I'll stay again."

"Eventhough we booked through Expedia, a warning about the train horns, and noise at wee hours of the night would help with planning to choose this hotel, coupled with paper thin walls. Breakfast was pretty good. Room size, and double sinks were good."

"Parking was limited. There was no drop off/pull up to front door. We are seniors,and there was no elevator, but front desk was able to get us a room on the 1st floor. We changed out from a King to 2 doubles. That was fine."

We stayed here due to limited options with graduation weekend at Virginia Tech happening the same time we had a wedding to attend. Our bedspread had a red stain on it. The carpet had several white stains strewn in different areas. The chair in the corner was stained and filthy. We didn’t use it at all. The overall condition of the property was dingy. "We were there for a family reunion, in a total of 3 rooms. Loud people next door and below us kept us all awake until after 1:00 am. We were talking about it at breakfast and some other guests were commenting on it as well. "

"While I was staying for a few days and the rooms were clean I had to request my room to be made and towels to be changed as it was not done automatically. Otherwise, hotel is quiet and clean but far from downtown. Good breakfast. Pretty good stay overall"

"The hotel is undergoing renovation. Though it is nicely done, if you have sensitivity to new carpet smell or new paint, then I would not recommend it. Everything is new including furniture, bedding, pillows. Check out is noon but housekeeping came around at 9 AM knocking on doors."

"Nice little older style hotel that has been renewed. Room was clean and comfortable. Only complaint was it was noisy beside the old main road with traffic but that eventually settled. Definitely would recommend. Budget friendly"
