Step into a bright and colorful island hideaway at The Castle’s Garden Retreat, located on the third floor of the property in historic downtown Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas. With sunshine-yellow walls, natural wicker furnishings, tropical accents, and a cozy cottage-inspired atmosphere, this one-bedroom apartment offers a distinctive place to unwind while exploring the island. The apartment accommodates up to two guests and features a queen bed, a full bathroom, a kitchenette, and direct access to the courtyard garden.

Living Area

The inviting living area is full of tropical character, with woven wicker seating, warm wood accents, and a patterned rug that brings the space together. Settle into the cozy chairs with a book, enjoy a quiet evening watching TV, or simply relax after a day exploring St. Thomas. The cheerful yellow walls and colorful details give the apartment its own unique island personality.

Bedroom & Sleeping Arrangements

The private bedroom features a queen bed for two guests, dressed in crisp white pillows and complemented by a warm, earthy bedspread. The sunny yellow walls and soft bedside lighting create a cozy place to recharge after a day at the beach or discovering downtown Charlotte Amalie.

Bathroom

The apartment has one full bathroom with a walk-in shower, providing a convenient space to freshen up and get ready for the day.

Kitchenette

The kitchenette includes a compact refrigerator, microwave, sink, coffee maker, and other kitchen essentials shown in the space. It is well suited for preparing simple meals, storing snacks and drinks, and enjoying your morning coffee before heading out to explore. Please note that this is a compact kitchenette rather than a full-size kitchen.

Courtyard Garden

One of the special features of The Castle’s Garden Retreat is its direct access to the courtyard garden. Step outside to enjoy this shared outdoor space, surrounded by the character of the property. It is a lovely place to pause, enjoy the tropical surroundings, or take a quiet break during your stay.

Explore Downtown Charlotte Amalie

Set on Snegle Gade in historic downtown Charlotte Amalie, the apartment provides a convenient home base for discovering St. Thomas. Explore the area`s colorful streets, browse local shops, enjoy nearby restaurants, and visit the waterfront. When you are ready to venture farther, the island offers beautiful beaches, scenic overlooks, and opportunities for boating and other island adventures.

Whether you are visiting for a romantic getaway or a relaxing island escape, The Castle’s Garden Retreat offers a colorful, comfortable place to experience St. Thomas.

Guests are welcome to enjoy the courtyard garden during their stay.

Upon arrival: Head to the staircase on the left side of the building and walk up approximately halfway. You’ll see a blue gate on your right, with a lockbox mounted on the outside. Walk up the flight of stairs immediately passed the gate. Continue walking up the second flight of stairs to the left and the front door to the unit is on the left.

Transportation, Parking & Getting Around

Parking at The Castle`s Garden Retreat

Please note that parking is NOT guaranteed at the Castle. There is an area outside the building where guests may be able to park, but these spaces are not reserved for our property or its guests. Parking is strictly first-come, first-served, and availability is not guaranteed upon arrival.

If the available spaces are full, public parking may be available in downtown Charlotte Amalie. The Fort Christian area and the Havensight area are options to investigate, depending on your destination and current parking availability. Public parking can fill up quickly during busy periods, so plan ahead and allow extra time.

Rental Cars

Renting a car is a great option if you plan to explore beaches, scenic overlooks, and other parts of St. Thomas at your own pace. We recommend reserving in advance and confirming pickup arrangements, rates, and insurance directly with your rental company.

Keep in mind:

· Driving is on the left side of the road.
· Roads can be narrow, steep, and winding.
· Parking can be challenging in downtown Charlotte Amalie.
· If you plan to take a vehicle to St. John, confirm with your rental company that it is permitted on the car ferry.

Taxis & Open-Air Safari Taxis

Traditional taxis and open-air safari taxis are common ways to get around St. Thomas. Taxis are generally available at Cyril E. King Airport, and private transportation can also be arranged in advance.

Safari taxis offer an open-air way to travel around the island, while traditional taxis may be more convenient for direct trips. Confirm the fare and payment arrangements with your driver before departing, as prices vary by route and service.

Airport Transfers

Cyril E. King Airport serves St. Thomas. Taxis are commonly available outside the terminal, or you can arrange private transportation before your arrival. If you arrange a pickup, confirm the meeting point and fare with your driver in advance.

Exploring Downtown on Foot

The Castle is located in historic downtown Charlotte Amalie, making it a convenient starting point for exploring the town on foot. You can stroll through historic streets, browse local shops, visit restaurants, and discover landmarks such as the famous 99 Steps.

Wear comfortable walking shoes, as some streets and stairways are steep. Be mindful of uneven surfaces, hills, and traffic while exploring.

Ferries to St. John & the British Virgin Islands

Planning a day trip to another island? Ferry services connect St. Thomas with nearby destinations.

· St. John: Ferries operate from Red Hook and Charlotte Amalie. Schedules, crossing times, and frequency vary by departure point and service.

· British Virgin Islands: International ferry services may be available from St. Thomas, depending on the route and schedule. Bring your passport and verify entry requirements before traveling.

Check current ferry schedules, departure terminals, fares, and any required travel documents before setting out.

Ride-Sharing & Other Transportation

Do not rely on Uber or Lyft as your primary transportation plan on St. Thomas. Availability can be limited or inconsistent, so taxis, rental cars, and prearranged transportation are generally safer options to plan around.

Boat rentals are another way to explore the coastline and nearby cays. If you`re interested, book through a reputable operator and confirm boating requirements, safety equipment, and any applicable licensing rules.

With a little planning, getting around St. Thomas can be part of the adventure. We recommend arranging transportation ahead of time whenever possible, especially during busy travel periods.

HOUSE RULES
1) All Communication must be through the chat feature on the app.
2) Due to a health hazard to the owners and others who manage this property, this property is NOT Pet Friendly. DO NOT bring any type of animal. If any type of animal is brought onto the property, you will be required to pay an additional cleaning fee.
3) Primary Guests must be 25 years of age or older to rent this property.
4) NO PARTIES ALLOWED. Any guest that has a party will be asked to leave without a refund. ANY Parties will result in a minimum fine of $500.
5) Absolutely NO SMOKING is allowed on the property including Vapes, Marijuana, and Tobacco. Smoking will result in a $250 fine.
6) If there is anything damaged or missing from the property, you will be responsible to replace and/or pay for the repair.
7) Quiet time from 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM (even on weekends, no loud music or any loud noise during quiet time)
8) Checkout is at 10:00 AM. Check-In Time 3:00 PM.
9) A Late Checkout Fee of $250 will be charged to the payment on file if you checkout late without prior approval.
10) There is a lost key fee of $100 for any key that is lost and not recoverable.
11) No Refunds on reservations canceled due to a violation of our House Rules.

REPAIRS:
We do our best to provide each guest with the best vacation experience possible. However, just like in your home, sometimes issues might occur that require attention. Some issues do not interrupt nor disturb your stay and can be dealt with once your vacation is over. Other issues will require immediate attention and must be reported as soon as they occur.

The time to report them is NOT upon or after checkout of a multiple-night stay as there will be no compensation in those instances because we will consider them livable according to your standards. If you are experiencing a stay-altering issue with the property, we will get you moved to a different location immediately. Clear and Concise Communication is paramount.
