Beautiful house in a perfect location!
The house comfortably accommodated our group of 6 and was perfectly situated within the town. Just a couple minute walk to the beach and shops. Not all of the bathrooms were perfectly cleaned but overall everything was very nice and tidy. Would definitely recommend this place if you’re looking for a great spot to stay in St. Simons!

Wonderful place for a family vacation!
I was a little hesitant at first because the price was much lower than what I found for other properties I looked at. But Papa's Place is exactly what was shown in the pictures in the advertisement. Wonderful, big open home with large bedrooms and comfortable beds. Big kitchen, great room, dining room and outside deck all connected and great for family gatherings. Great TV with comfortable furnishings. Plenty of hot water and lots of towels. Everything we needed for a great vacation!

St Simon Get-Together
The house was within walking distance to the pier and the great restaurants near it. Plenty of space for a large group like ours. The property manager resolved our request immediately after contacting them. Great value!

Great location
We recently stayed at the house with four of our adult children and spouses while my husband and I got married on East Beach. The house was large enough to fit us all comfortably. We were disappointed in the amenities and service. The house came with ONE trash bag, ONE dish towel, 4 coffee cups, etc. For a five bedroom house, we would expect at least a few trash bags! The ice maker did not work. One of the toilets upstairs did not work. We reported that it needed a new handle/flapper assembly at 10:30 AM on the first morning of our stay. A handyman showed up a few hours later, said he could not repair it then and would come back. He did not show back up until noon today when we were checking out (we paid for late checkout). If it is raining, as it was during our stay, the front outdoor steps are very slippery. There was visible mildew on the stairs and the entire outside front of the house. I wish the owners would check out the current condition of the house, including the poor collection of cookware, glasses, etc. Very disappointed in the Vacasa management if this house.

Convenient location, good house for family gathering.
Walking to the beach and restaurants was terrific. The master bedroom and bath very nice. The other beds were only so, so. There was a leg missing on a dressing table and stained upholstery in the office room. The garbage disposal and the vent for the stove didn't work, but otherwise the kitchen was great for cooking. We would stay there again.

We were very happy with Papa’s Place. Very nice home with EVERYTHING you will need . It is within walking distance to beach / shops/ restaurants/ parks( 5 minute walk). The home is large and beds are comfortable.. Communication with rental company was easy with quick response . You won’t be disappointed if you rent this home!

Papa's Place Overdelivered
Papa's Place was amazing! We had everything we needed; and our questions were answered within minutes. The house was lovely and HUGE! We had plenty of room. Friday evening, we had guests for dinner; and it didn't even feel crowded. There was room for everyone to chat, play games, laugh...it was simply perfect! Many thanks to everyone who made it such a great experience!

Would not rent this house again. Was deceived about things in the house. Love St Simons Island and visiting! Definitely loved other properties rented through you all but this one just didn’t match up.

Nice Property Close to Great Beach
My family of 7 (all adults) enjoyed our week on Saint Simons Island at Papa’s Place. The house location is excellent as it’s a short five minute walk to East Beach and also walking distance (10-15 minutes) to the Pier Village area that has many restaurants (Must Go to Georgia Sea Grill), ice cream (recommend Saint Simon Sweets), shopping, and the Lighthouse Museum. The house was clean, comfortable, and definitely roomy with its 5 bedrooms (2 on first floor and 3 on 2nd floor) and 4 bathrooms. The kitchen has quality working appliances and everything we needed to cook-in a couple nights and prepare breakfast in morning. We used the gas grill a couple times which was fine except the grill grates needed a good cleaning first. The house could use some updating overall, but the central A/C keeps the property very comfortable inside. The floors were a little dirty in spots and the beds were okay; not the most comfortable, but overall very livable for a short stay. Communication with the property manager via text was good as he responded pretty quick to my texts. Only issues we had were that the front door sometimes didn’t lock easily (several attempts required), a couple lights in the bathrooms didn’t work, and the back deck is pretty much useless because it’s so hot and humid. For future renters of this property, the Vrbo listing states a hair dryer is included but it is NOT as confirmed by the property manager when I asked. Ladies, bring your hair dryer. The property also does NOT provide beach chairs which would be nice since the property is so close to a great beach. Recommend the property include beach equipment (3 or 4 foldable beach chairs and umbrella) along with the beach towels which are already provided.

Excellent location in St Simons
My family had a great weekend on St Simons Island. The location of the house was perfect, within easy walking distance of the beach, restaurants, and pier. The house was clean, comfortable, and spacious enough for our large family. I enjoyed cooking in the well stocked kitchen. Communication with the property manager was excellent and he got back to me right away when I had a problem locking the front door. The floors were a little dirty and the beds were not the most comfortable, but otherwise great property.

Old friends reunion
Our gang of eight get together every year, 4 couples who worked together years ago. The house worked fine for us. It is in a great location, easy walk to lighthouse, pier and beach. Beds were comfortable, kitchen worked fine. Elevator and hot tub are off limits. Could use bedside lights. Lights in our room all ceiling mounted and controlled by the switch at the door. Good spot for a large family or group of friends.

We were looking for a home to celebrate our 50th anniversary. This home was perfect for us. We had plenty of room and it was so clean. We really appreciated the hand soap at every sink & the scattered boxes of tissue. The rental staff was so easy to work with, too. We thank you for everything.

The house was very nice. Plenty of room and loved the large dining area. Kitchen was nice for preparing meals. Mattresses in 2 of the guest rooms were not comfortable and guest had trouble sleeping. The outside backyard was unusable due to extremely large dog poops which literally covered the entire area. We looked for a shovel to clean it up but there wasn’t one. We did enjoy our stay and it is a perfect house for a family getaway. I do think a 10am check out is a little early to get up have breakfast, clean up after breakfast, get the family all ready to leave and finish packing the car. 11am is much more reasonable considering the pricepoint for this house. Overall we had a very good time and enjoyed the house and our time there.

Perfect family getaway!
We loved staying here. It was big enough for our multigenerational family to meet on the island. It was conveniently located just away from the hustle and bustle. The fenced yard was fabulous for traveling with our puppy, and there was more than enough space for all our needs. We used the kitchen quite a bit, and main floor master suite with a sleep number bed was perfect for my folks! The elevator was a nice plus for the elders in the group. I would absolutely go back!!

Size Matters
Ample sized rooms, great patio and high ceilings gave us room to exhale. Large formal dining room and nice dishes made beautiful holiday meal possible. Cool to have a separate wine cooler along with other nice kitchen appliances. Dogs loved the back yard and we loved the high fence, especially the lights along its perimeter. Wish we could've parked in garage or used the hot tub, though. Double sinks in kitchen super handy and layout makes non-stop socializing possible. Wish the display on the microwave worked and that we'd had access to a broom and vacuum, however. Surprised there was an elevator (even though it didn't work).

Good, neutral large house
Close to the beach. Easy to access. Good for well-behaved pets. Clean and plenty of appliances and kitchenware. Enough privacy for an extended family to stay comfortably. Some mattresses could use an upgrade but bringing a foam cover would solve that easily. Would recommend.

Beautiful and large
The house as a whole was beautiful but unfortunately the cleaning crew is not doing their job. In the master bathroom toilet was full of old urine and stunk from day one. The jets in the master tube did not work as well for my new bride and i. If those two things along with fixing the hot tub outside, the house would be 5 star rating. Plenty of room, beds are wonderful. Accommodations are excellent and the elevator was a bonus.

Family vacation
Papa’s Place is in great location. It’s a 5 min walk to the beach and short walk to shopping and restaurants. The house is large enough for everyone to gather together but enjoy quiet time too plenty space for kids would definitely go back and planning next trip already ! Moo Cow and Wake Up coffee we miss already Staff were very attentive and quick responses

Family Visit
My family, my sister's family, and my parents all stayed at Papa's Place for a much needed vacation. Positives: 1. Location near beach and Pier Village. 2. Plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms and places to escape each other when we needed to. 3. Elevator for the parents. 4. Blow dryer in each bathroom. Improvements the owners might consider: 1. Extra blankets in the bedrooms 2. Some art work or beachy decor would add a lot to a pretty bland decor. 3. Some general repairs including paint touch up, not broken recliners, a working ice maker. We would totally stay here again. It fit what we needed, just think it could be so much more! Advice: bring some beach toys and a pop up tent and head to 5th Street Beach. There are 2 low sitting Beach chairs in the garage that came in handy. Bring your own if you need more than that. And rent a golf cart or 2. They were so handy getting back and forth to the beach, the Pier Village and reatraunts.

My girlfriends and I were blown away with the location and convenience of this property. There was more than enough space and the home was so comforting, beautiful, and beachy. Close to everything, we even walked to dinner one night. Would definitely recommend.

So Much Space!
This house has tons of space! My best friend and I traveled with our combined 5 kids and this was a great place for everyone to spread out. The furniture was comfortable and the kitchen was well appointed. There were beach towels, extra kitchen towels and sheets, trash bags, dish and laundry detergent, both a keurig and coffee maker. It is centrally located and an easy bike to the beach, pier, putt-putt, lighthouse, shops, restaurants, park, basketball courts etc. We are both clean freaks which is why we rated it a 4 out of 5. There were some dishes that weren't clean and some floor space that wasn't up to our standard but we would definitely stay there again. The oven didn't close all the way and there is no curtain in one of the bathrooms. We notified the property manager and they worked to fixed our concerns quickly and we were satisfied with the resolution. The property across the street looks unsightly but the occupants seemed nice. The back yard is a nice space but not well cared for and could use some TLC. The hot tub is not in use but that would be a great benefit. Overall we were pleased and would stay there again!

The house is large good for families. It is in desperate need of some repairs. The backyard is unkept and patio was dirty and not brought furniture. The back gate is broken, couch and chairs ripping, oven won’t close all the way, need new mattresses, master bathroom shower broken , doors creak, kitchen utensils rusty, and front porch dirty and no chairs to sit on.

Great Big House
Nice house with plenty of room (and rooms) to spread out. Some of the furnishings were worn and some not so clean, but it suited our needs. The lot across the street is "interesting" and something you need to see to believe. Shout out to the property management group, upon arriving we noticed there was no hot water and within 20 minutes of our call they had a maintenance man out to resolve the problem

We loved all the bedrooms & baths. Each of us had our own. And there was an elevator for those of us who have trouble with stairs. The kitchen was large. We spent a lot of time on the deck. Finally, it was in a very nice neighborhood close to downtown.

Amazing Stay!

Covid New Year's at Papa's Place
The deck is a great place for social distancing of about 10 but you could use the backyard for many more. The garage is also huge should it rain. Great location-6 minute walk to the 5th street beach access.

mattress in the master bedroom was horrible .
My only complaint is the mattress in Master Bedroom was flat. It had no padding . I called and was told someone could meet and look at it but I was already out and exploring the area . I can’t believe no one else noticed . Otherwise house was lovely , but I will need to see a chiropractor.

Property manager was quick to answer my calls and Jeremy, the maintenance man, responded immediately to request for help with elevator and a/c operation. The property description on Homeaway needs to be redone - better pictures and more pix of the rooms, less pix of the island. I had to call for specific info on bed sizes - 1 king, 3 queens, 1 double. Some repairs needed to property: broken dining chair, tub faucet in upstairs hall bath stands 1” away from the wall, wide cracks in corners of showers/tubs, bed comfort subpar, control panel on microwave doesn’t light up - just have to guess, screen around hot tub loose in several places (the hot tub wasn’t available to us which wasn’t a deal breaker). Outside stairs very slippery when it rains and need non slip surface. No info book on heat/cool system (it was a Nest, I think, which we weren’t familiar with and not easy to figure out) no check out info in rental. I called the property manager for instructions. The positive is the elevator which I didn’t go looking for when searching for a rental. It came in quite handy with luggage. Early check in was appreciated. Good location within walking distance of beach and restaurants. Mullet Bay has good food. Nice neighborhood. Big t.v. in living room. Only other t.v. in master bedroom. Listen: spend some money to make repairs and get rid of the odd pieces of furniture (what is that behind the door in upstairs bedroom?) and chairs with shredded arms. The 2 sofa were comfortable and the large dining table was great for the 9 of us.

Great place but not for sick folks
We had great accommodations that provided as much space as needed for a 3-family vacation. Unfortunately, four of the 10 people ended up sick (not because of the house or location, just chance) and had to leave early for medical treatment. Healthy, it was what we expected and wanted.

Beautiful home
Great place but toilet was leaking in master bath. Maintenance responded promptly by shutting off toilet and not returning before we left. Lots of bathrooms in this place but lack of attention to this matter was very unprofessional and disappointing for a rental in this price range.

We had a great visit until we got sick.
The property was awesome, I just wish it was closer to my family and friends. I should have taken into account travel time to my loved ones because we spent the majority of our time traveling to them and less time with them coming to us. It’s disappointing because we traveled 3000 miles to get here and it was like pulling teeth to get others to travel 30-50 miles. I know this has nothing to do with the rental but I hope more rentals open up closer to our loved ones. A few suggestions: laundry basket to transfer laundry, for this specific site an additional garbage can in the house to separate the recycling in the house. We have lived in Seattle an California where recycling is not only encouraged but enforced. Possibly a composting Receptacle. It was also a bit cumbersome bringing multiple luggage cases and grocery bags up 14 steps access to the garage and elevator would be helpful and justified in the price of the rental considering the distance to the beach. Please fix the master bathroom toilet I messaged the Vacasa people but they never responded about this it is quite annoying to use the half bath off the kitchen and climbing a flight and half of stairs is beyond inconvenient. There was also dog poop two steps off the circular drive way which was unpleasant. Possibly check for black mold because everyone who stayed has gotten really sick even the ones who visited just on the weekend. Oh and please have them place the carbon monoxide detector it is still in the package in the laundry room with a house this size four would be advisable.

We greatly appreciate you taking the time to tell us about your stay. We are looking at adding an additional trash can for recycling; the master bathroom toilet is currently working; the elevator is also operating correctly; the owner does not allow guests to park in the garage, but guests can take the elevator down to the garage to bring their bags in the home; we were unable to find any signs of mold. We are sorry to see you tried to reach us about some of these things as we have no record of hearing from you. We hope to have another chance to impress you in the future!
