I would stay again

I will start by saying that despite the issues I will outline below, I would stay here again as everything BUT the cleanliness/maintenance of the actual unit was superb. Fantastic views, plenty of birds/dolphins/manatees visible from unit/beach. Clean property (not unit). Quiet when we visited despite it being a pretty full property. Well apportioned kitchen and beach supplies. Great location a block from Johns Pass for bars/shops/restaurants/ICE CREAM/water sports. The not so good: Despite being called at 2:45 on check in day that our unit was cleaned and ready, the only things that were clean were the sheets/towels/bathrooms/ kitchen. Thick dust was everywhere on surfaces, couches were full of sand, air vents are caked in dust and air filter in ac is packed with dirt, screens are bad and some windows dont open. I actually gave most of that a pass, but the floors were just disgusting. I did significant cleaning Sunday morning following a 27 hour drive. If you wore socks, you had to have unit socks and outside unit socks or your shoes would be disgusting. It was a thick black sludge of soap/sand/dust/hair/sunscreen. I first dry mopped with all the towels to get the upper layer off then got the unopened wet mop out of the closet. Clean water was causing the grime to bubble and 2 dunks in the bucket was all you could do before changing the water. I finally used wet towels to pull it all up and wipe it all down and life was good after that. emailed mgmt but never heard back.

Pretty disappointing in my opinion

Outdated, dirty, obviously only superficial cleaning occurred. Rude housekeeping when complained about hair and grime in the bathroom. Dryer very old, took forever to dry clothes/towels. Management didnā€™t seem concerned about dirt/grime. Wouldnā€™t stay here again.

Madeira Beach Stay

The location of this place was perfect. We could walk to John's Pass and of course direct access to the water. The condo itself is dated and could use updates especially in the kitchen and bathrooms. Overall we enjoyed our stay!

Awesome sunset

Condo was as described. The view from the balcony was awesome, sunset was spectacular Only complaint is that if you are planning on doing any cooking you will have to buy everything including salt and pepper butter. There was no garbage bags for kitchen or bathrooms so you will need to buy tall garbage bags and we used our plastic shopping bags in the bathroom. They truly only leave one roll of toilet paper per bathroom and a roll of paper towel you only get one dish cloth and towel, so you have to wash them.There are numerous towels and washcloths for bathroom that was no problem. I thought there was no smoking from the balcony but maybe that was just the rules for this particular one. The condo to the right of us was constantly smoking and the condo to the left of us which was a whole separate condo also had someone smoking so it was hard to enjoy the balcony at times. The pool was nice to enjoy after being down by the beach. The beach chairs were in not good shape so we bought some and left them there. There is a small cooler to take to the beach, that was nice. Walking distance to Johns Pass, Julieā€™s cafe across the street has good breakfast. There are maps and other information in the basket by the TV. We used coupons from them. We loved the area cause it was busy on weekend and then super quite during the weekdays. Not sure if we would stay here again but definitely in the area.

Perfect!

Our condo was perfectly placed right on the beach! The balcony was our favorite place to sit & watch the dolphins in the morning when we werenā€™t down on the beach. Food and fun where within walking distance, and had plenty of options! Beds where extremely comfortable & area was nice and quiet. 10/10!

Property bldg amazingly beautiful The unit is getting a bit tired. Needing upgrades NO proper beach chairs, I asked for replacement but NO luck We have stayed in this unit many years when we rented directly from the owner !! Just figured we would get better response when we mentioned about the beach chairs were basically falling apart !!! Most likely will be reconsidering staying at this particular unit ?

Read before you book!

Location was amazing. The property was clean the unit itself was the worst Iā€™ve stayed in to say the least. Carpet is 20+ yrs old and filthy, 1 of 4 burners worked on the stove, the oven didnā€™t work, maintenance never came back to replace the supposed part (yet per the reviews itā€™s been broke over a year), kitchen pans were horrific (you may get Teflon poisoning) ice machine was broke (maintenance did fix( multiple outlets did not work, ceiling paint hanging from ceiling, patio furniture is old, ripped with foam hanging out, duck tape on ripped screens, ceiling fan in living room didnā€™t work, no beach towels, broken rusted beach chairs, moldy bathrooms, 3in of sand in the closet, horrible mildew smell, everything is sticky with vinegar smell. Needs a complete remodel and deep deep clean! Paid the same amount as updated units. Would never rent this unit again! Read the reviews before you rent.

I would not recommend this condo.

The condo is dated. Nothing has been updated from the original and the building is more than 30 years old. Cabinets in the bathroom falling off. The sliding doors very dirty. Rusty bathroom and kitchen sinks. Itā€™s is a terrific location and the pool area is very nice. On site staff/ management were excellent. Very helpful.

First time using vrbo

I have stayed at this building before (4 times)in a very nice condo which was unavailable this time so thought I would try vrbo. This condo needs help!! First it smelled mildewy which never really went away. The bathrooms are so outdated. The counters are only 24ā€ from the floor and my husband is 6ā€™1ā€. The walk-in shower had black mold in the corners and when I tried to clean it the drainage didnā€™t work properly so we only used the tub shower. Not even a soap dish was provided had to keep it on the countertop. And the kitchen. We like to cook fresh fish but the stove was unusable. The electric burners sat so uneven we couldnā€™t use them and needed a good cleaning at best.. the kitchen cabinets were so old and dirty they were sticky to the touch and we were provided 1 dishcloth and 1 dishtowel nit even a potholder. Ugh. Wonā€™t be staying in this unit ever again. For the price I expected a better kept property.

Great pool, building nice and clean. Great location! Owner needs to do a serious deep clean of all surfaces and hvac. There were broken hardware, old decor and tile pieces stored on top of fridge, every closet. The pots and pans were so old and dirty we did not cook. Carpet had dirt tracks. Looked like every item of decor was randomly picked out from goodwill. Low end package for the tv service. Bed was good.

Beautiful beach! Great time!

We had a lovely week here. Check in and out was easy and management is very responsive. Beach is beautiful and within walking distance to shops and restaurants (although during a pandemic, I didnā€™t get to enjoy those). The photos are accurate- if youā€™re looking for high-end finishing, this is not the place for you. But if youā€™re looking for a comfortable beach condo with everything you need for relaxing, cooking and sleeping, then absolutely book! Iā€™d stay again for sure!

Much needed time away

It was quite obvious the property had been clearly disinfected prior to arrival. You could smell cleaning product the moment you opened the door. My family needed quiet time away & this rental allowed just that. Quiet, uncrowded, relaxed, clean- the beach, the pool & building itself. The kitchen utensils could be improved for ease of dining in, especially with covid precautions. Bathrooms could use an update-if you are tall the vanities are knee to mid thigh- took a little getting used to. The balcony furniture could be improved upon or made more welcoming- we spent majority of our time out there, not in the living room watching TV. No beach towels but chairs & mats were in the closet which was nice. Would I rent this space again? Yes, I believe I would. The proximity to Johns Pass is within walking distance, close but far enough away to not be bothered by the activity. My family enjoyed the treasures that this area had to offer.
