"Little hidden gem! Absolutely stunning property. As soon as you walk through the door it’s like stepping back in time. Stunning decor with lots of character and interesting items to look at around the property. Host was warm and welcoming when I arrived. I will definitely be visiting this hotel again and have already started recommending to friends."

"Lovely staff, excellent restaurant and pub. Unfortunately, my room (The Periwinkle Room) had a not so good smell. Combined with no air-conditioning it made my stay fairly unpleasant and it was very hot inside the room. There is a fan located high attached to the wall but it really didn’t help much at all."

"The room has no lock on the door; locks are only available outside the two rooms. There are many flies in the hallway, and they are appearing throughout the rooms. There is a lot of dust everywhere. In addition, although we were given the Wi‑Fi password, we’re unable to connect."

Special mention to Chiara (hope I’ve spelt that right) who was on reception 1pm Saturday 30/5/26 and Sunday morning: Thank you for sorting out our early check in request so we could attend a family event on time. The breakfast service staff were a delight too as were the vegetarian options with some clearly marked as vegan (croissants) which was perfect and having plant-based sausages without having to wait for them to be made to order was...

"Very friendly and welcoming staff. This is a five hundred year old building so don't expect a Premier inn with nice even floors and shiny paintwork, however if you want a pub hotel with real character this place is a gem. Every member of staff was great and couldn't do enough to make the stay perfect. Unfortunately we didn't get to have a meal there but the breakfast is absolutely worth getting up for. We will be back. "

"Stayed at the Windmill before and accommodation is excellent. Had 2 wonderful evening meals. Pet friendly. Only let down on the last day was a boiler failure which meant no hot water and only a dribble of cold water. So no shower I’m afraid! Had to boil kettle to get hot water for a wash of sorts. Staff very apologetic but couldn’t sort the issue before we had to leave."
