The Carriage House

The Carriage House is a charming converted barn close to the town of Southwest Harbor. Multiple Acadia National Park access points are within 2 miles of the cottage. Bar Harbor and the Park Loop Road are 20 minutes away. A perfect hideaway for 2 people looking for a quaint retreat. The cottage was recently renovated and updated and is super cute. The perfect spot for a getaway. 3 night minimum stay.

Perfect for 2

The property was exactly as described and it was perfect for the two of us. It was exactly what we needed. The kitchen and sitting area was great and we loved playing chess and the other games when we had some down time.

Wonderful and very well appointed ā€œfarmhouseā€ rental in southwest harbor . The owner was very informative of the area and quick to respond in communication . The king size bed was very comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed . I would happily return and recommend to my friends to stay there .

If you don't want to read the entire review, just book this place now--you will not be disappointed! Ingrid sent us check in instructions and info about the property, what was included and what was not included at the property. The instructions were very clear and we had plenty of advance notice-pretty much bring your own toiletries, including soap and shampoo. Everything else is there. Wonderful little house! The house was VERY CLEAN, no odd smells, water pressure was good and hot. Everything worked just fine, including the coded entry locks, trash take out was a short walk, had grills and a firepit available, quiet for the most part, several stores within a mile (check out Gotts for the best homemade cookies!), we did not use the heat or the TV, but we assume they work, fridge was clean and worked great, washer/dryer combo was great and there is extra storage in the entry way to store shoes and coats, etc., shower was big enough for me (6'3"/220), no bath tub, plates and utensils provided, no dishwasher, plenty of parking even for a trailer and easy to get to and from. We spent most of our time in Acadia, which is 20 minutes away and around Bar Harbor, which is about the same distance. We were so glad we stayed where we did (Southwest Harbor) and not near Bar Harbor. This place is top notch, and really only good for two people. There are a few similar cabins behind and beside but there were no issues. This cabin is not super secluded. 5 stars for this one!! :)

A Wonderful Getaway

The Carriage house was a quaint and homely building, perfect for a couple looking for a place to stage many Maine adventures! It had plenty of space and everything we needed to live comfortably. The fans were well placed and it allowed for a good circulation of fresh air in the mornings/evenings! Each window having it's own shade meant that you can allow as much natural light (which was beautiful) or have as much privacy to kick back and relax. Ingrid is very responsive, she answered all our questions in good time and she's very detail oriented! A great host for sure! Recommended for any couple looking to be close to the Maine attraction but feel at home!

We had a fantastic experience staying at ingridā€™s place. She was very welcoming and provided clear instructions for check-in. Ingrid had clear and timely communication. The place was very clean and nicely decorated, and had all the amenities that we needed for a comfortable stay. The location was perfectā€”close to local attractions and dining options. I especially appreciated the thoughtful touches like the welcome note and bottle of wine on the kitchen table. I highly recommend this VRBO to anyone looking for a cozy and convenient stay.

Great Place!

Very nice country style barn like (smell of the old wood) home that is perfect for a couple. Not very far from Acadia and bar harbor. We went in the fall and it was beautiful.

The house is adorable, big bed wonderful sheets. If you plan to do much cooking you will want to bring a few things but there is a skillet and pasta pot. Tiny cutting board, more like a bar board. Bring your own shampoo. We didn't get the email saying it's not provided until 10 minutes before check in.

Awesome Farmjouse

This is a really neat old farmhouse with ceiling beams and an old barn door with all you need. Convenient to Bar Harbor(10-15 min) and a grocery site just down the road. Acadia National Park is all around.

Comfortable Stay in Acadia

We had a comfortable stay at the Carriage House, which was in a short distance to town. We had an anniversary dinner at Red Sky which was delicious. Although close to the main road, we heard little to no noise at night. Everything was provided at the cottage and it was perfect for two people.

Lovely cottage

This cottage was immaculately clean and very comfortable. We loved the location- away from the chaos of bar harbor but within walking distance of several great restaurants. It was very convenient to everything we wanted to do on our visit. Great, clear communication from the host. We really enjoyed our stay and highly recommend!
