This home is situated right on the South Fork Rio Grande, offering easy access to several fly fishing waterways. Access world-class skiing in Wolf Creek only nine miles south, or visit the lovely town of South Fork nine miles northeast for dining, shopping, entertainment, and outdoor sports galore.

Check in was difficult as another family accidentally thought our cabin was theirs and had already unloaded their belongings (and dog) into our cabin. Took a bit of time to figure this out. Garbage disposal needed to be plunged upon arrival as sink was plugged. Starter firewood was not there but local host said we will be refunded for that. Rest of stay was great and cabin was very comfortable. Hot tub was wonderful, beds were comfortable and having a washer and dryer was very nice.

Overall cleanliness & home was amazing. Accommodated a family of 6 & 2 dogs just fine. Plenty of extra bed linens & towels available to use. However none of the amenities were available as listed. The hot tub fuse was completely blown, leaving us with no access to the hot tub. (One of the only reasons we booked this stay) We were guaranteed maintenance throughout our stay for the hot tub, they never showed or called. Along with the grill being completely unsafe to use. We spent at least an hour cleaning the grill itself (as expected from previous tenants) however, as soon as we lit the grill, it started up in flames. It was faster to cook inside because the flames on the grill were too small to cook much of anything. Lovely stay, not so lovely amenities.

Perfect Location

Loved this little cabin. It’s the closest rentals to Wolf Creek Ski resort that we could find. It was enough space for our family of 4. The living and dining room could be bigger, but it worked. The only complaint I had was there were no coffee filters. Seems small, but that needs to be noted if the coffee maker is listed as provided.

Drafty windows/ Heater issues

All, The place was in a great location and very clean. The windows are very drafty need to be replaced or sealed. One room had no heat (not even an electric heater) and there were no extra blankets. The temps during the weekend were around -12 to 12 deg. It was very cold.

Ponderosa in south fork

Overall a pleasant place to stay for a few nights. The little cabin was clean and cozy. The down side is the traffic on Wolf Creek pass can be heard inside the cabin. There is a black widow living under the wood burning stove. The bathtub is very slow to drain. I would book this for a weekend getaway again.

Terrible communication

I left my laptop there on accident (yes it’s my fault) reached out to Vasca, they could not give me any update on whether it was found or shipped back or what. Finally one day my computer shows up in a package, screen shattered from not shipping properly even after I offered to pay for fragile shipping, and it’s been over a month now and no one has reached out or been able to give me any information on whether the shipper purchased insurance. I’ve been asking them daily for months on an update about what to do and no one can tell me anything. HORRIBLE communication and the pictures are very deceptive. There is no little creek right in front of the property. It’s a grown up creek with grass everywhere, and we killed 2 snakes right in front of the cabin from that little grown up creek! It barely had water in it.

I loved the quiet mountain views. The hot tub was a nice touch as well. We had a great time there! The cabin was very clean and friendly with lots of space. We brought some DVDs and had some movie nights with the fire it was a good time. Would recommend and even come back!

Nice place, misleading description, mice problem

Cabin itself was nice. Backs to the highway (maybe 100ft away) so you'll hear cars and exhaust breaking all night. Storage container and trailer full of broken garbage right up against the cabin, and a mouse problem that definitely needs addressed. Bed sheets had moose droppings on them, came back from a day out to moose droppings on the kitchen counter, then started seeing them running around the kitchen/living room. Run by a third party company so you get a pretty veiled service experience that's obviously AI based.

Will not be back.

First of the property is NOT secluded at all you are in the middle of a mobile home campground. The “river/pond” in front is nothing but moss and dirty. The BIGGEST issue we had was some random guy walking around the property around 3am woke up to trash on our deck and all in the fireplace. We were SO thankful it was our last night. To top it off we reached out to the “host” which is really just a company and they thanked us for letting us know. No refund no offer to make things right. Nothing. Very disappointed.

Cute cabin misleading location

The cabin was cute very comfortable! The description and pictures make it looks secluded which it is not. It is right next to other cabins we were very disappointed to show up to basically a cabin “campground”. Also, the pictures show a pond right in front of the entrance. While there is a pond it is on the back side on the cabin and cannot be seen from the cabin. The pots and pans were subpar. Outside the back door to the cabin was a porta potty, conex box, and a bunch of random junk on a trailer. Very unflattering. While the cabin inside was cute and clean we didn’t spend as much time there as we had planned. We were really hoping for a quite secluded vacation which this cabin failed to offer.

terrible and deceptive.

this place is low level, not up to vacasa standards and deceptively advertised. no way is it worth the price. i stay at vrbo and vacasa properties all the time and have never complained once. i had a 6 day reservation and only stayed 1 night. had to rent another place. my messages to vacasa have done no good. i got ripped off.

Good but misleading

The cabin was very well stocked and had great views but the online listing was very misleading. The cabin is NOT secluded as advertised. To us, seclusion means away from the road and not beside other cabins. It sits right beside the road with car lights coming into your cabin all day and night. Also, you are right beside other cabins. Otherwise, the cabin was a great stay if you're not looking for seclusion.

Great location

We enjoyed the location there are a lot of things to do in a 30 mile radius. The only drawback is that it’s too close to the highway so you don't have a secluded feel if that’s what you are looking for. Otherwise it’s a nice little cottage and you will definitely enjoy staying there
