This is an amazing structure built on Gros piton. The view is stunning from any level in the house. We love how the home blend in with the mountain as one and some rocks are incorporated in the building. Just really cool structure that you may never seen anything like this again in your life time. Yard is also well taken care of. The housekeeper Mary, caretaker Pious and gardener Lawrance are very attentive and friendly. The downside is the drive to the house is challenging. We rented a truck from the airport and it took us a long time to find the home. The road on the island are narrow, rocky and uneven so be prepared to take a long time to get anywhere. The bedrooms and living room are open to the outdoor so make sure to bring bug spray. Since the home is open to the nature, you can hear dogs, goats and roosters from distance, so if you enjoy animal sound, then it would be perfect. If you are not, then be sure to bring ear plugs. Also island store and restaurant hour can vary. And supplies are limited. We arrived on Sunday and we had hard time to find a restaurant that was open. Be sure to communicate well with Mary and Pious as what you want them to do and get. And be sure to bring enough cash to cover all the expenses. Overall, gorgeous property with stunning views.

We loved our stay at the house of the stars. When we arrived, Maria had made us a wonderful dinner St. Lucia style. Pius was a lifesaver for us because our rental car that we had booked months ago was not available. December is high season and all rental cars have been spoken for once we had arrived at the airport. Luckily, Pius was able to take us to restaurants and anywhere we needed to go. The house makes me feel one with nature. What a great escape from our normal hustle bustle that we have in Houston, Texas. Thank you so much for a wonderful accommodation, and hosts that went above and beyond for us.

Wow! This "House of Stars" was beyond expectations. The host was very helpful, answering any questions. Don't be concerned about open air concept. No bugs, only critters were family of little lizards prevalent all over Caribbean. Pius and Mary were jewels in the crown of this awesome place. Major tip..we always rent a car in our travels and did so this time. We wish we had skipped that and just let Pius drive. He's excellent. Villa was well equipped and clean. Views were breathtaking and majestic! Has to be seen to be believed.

Here is the letter we left in the guest book at the end of our stay in August 2025, from Tim.Dear David and Patricia,Thanks for making your wonderful house available to us. It was the best place I have stayed on vacation. The view is fantastic and the things we did were exciting and special. Pius and Mary were great. Pius was an excellent driver. We went snorling three times and Chester down in Souffriere was an excellent guide. The Mango Tree restaurant was excellent. The chicken dish that Mary made us was delicious. It was fun making our own chocolate at the Chocolate Factory and the Sulpher Springs was very interesting. Best vacation ever. I also read Patricia's book about your sailing around the world. What adventures! I am an anthropologist and have been involved with development work for the last 43 years and have visited more than 40 countries. Many places you mentioned I have visited. I really enjoyed the read. You both are pretty special people. All the best.Adding in here (from Lisa): We enjoyed hanging out with the nearby tethered farm animals... the goats and a special cow who had a bright white egret on her back as we left to go to the airport. Tim was somewhat annoyed by the early morning bleating and chicken crowing, but I just put earplugs in ... I really enjoyed special moments alone in the swimming pool looking up at the clouds going by. And we found lots of very sweet mangos on the ground ready to be enjoyed!

Family of 6 adults

Interesting house, gorgeous view from observation deck. But way too many bugs for my family. My husband and son slept in the air conditioned TV room for relief from the heat and bugs. Don’t think I’d ever do an open concept house again, but it was an interesting experience. Check-in was easy, Mary and Pius are there to help.

Spectacular!

Just book it!A unique property that went far beyond our high expectations. I am surprised this one hasn't been used in a VRBO ad yet, it's really that amazing. We'll never forget what it was like to wake up, listen to the wind and birds and look out at the Piton. Our only disappointment is that we are unlikely to find as nice and unique of a property ever again!

Amazing stay at Maison des Etoiles

Our family of 5 stayed at Maison des Etoiles for 2 nights (kids age 3, 5, 8). The house is amazing! The views, the open air, the staff - so peaceful and relaxing, truly special. My favorite part was the master bedroom and waking up looking out to the Petit Piton - so magical. Only caveat for little kids: you do need to keep a close eye on them as building codes in St Lucia are not as strict. Mary was wonderfully welcoming and cooked a tasty meal for us on arrival day. Pious was so helpful and drove us around on our day out. We hope to be back soon!

What a view

The house was perfect! My wife and I felt at home from the moment we arrived. The view was unbelievable, nestled between the pitons. I was worried about the open concept, but after the first night, I was left waiting to fall asleep to the sound of the night in St. Lucia.

Living outside, differed maintenance

We stayed at Maison des Etoiles for two weeks the end of January 2025. Reviewing this facility has been challenging because while it is a spectacular place in a picturesque setting, it is more open to the elements than we were accustomed and, sadly, suffers from differed maintenance.When we first arrived, the design of the house was awe inspiring. Built with its high back to the prevailing winds and with shutters that can be propped open for ventilation as desired, the open interior of the house, with its multiple levels, varnished surfaces and mast-like support poles, seemed like being on board a large sailing ship. The view from the house toward Petit Piton and the blue-green bay below is spectacular. Sailing vessels were ever present in the distance. During the day, a light rain would send rainbows arcing across the sky. The pastel hues at sunset were quite photogenic, especially from the observation porch perched well atop the main living areas.Mary, the housekeeper, and Pius, her son, were delightful and quick to do whatever we asked. They seemed ever present, yet careful not to intrude. Mary fixed us a delicious Carribean dinner the night we arrived. One evening the internet went out and Pius had it fixed as soon as we mentioned it the next morning. He offered to drive us wherever we would like, but we had rented a car. Absolutely stunning

As multiple others have stated, while the listing pictures are beautiful, the actual property & views are better - simply spectacular!The owner answered all of our (many) questions quickly & was great to work with.Selecting the option of a house car driver during our stay was the best decision we made. The roads in the area are challenging at best; Pius (the driver) navigated them with skill & ease. He was incredibly polite, unbelievably prompt, & had great restaurant suggestions as well.While we did not utilize Mary (housekeeper) for any cooking, she too was incredibly polite & kept the property spotless.Simply an amazing place to stay - highly recommend!

Amazing stay

The villa is perfectly situated on the side of Gros Piton with a beautiful view of the ocean and Petite Piton. Mary prepared a wonderful welcome dinner and Pius was available to help us with any needs around the property. On clear nights the view of the stars from the tower deck is breathtaking. I would recommend this home to any and everyone looking to enjoy a peaceful retreat in Saint Lucia!

Remote but world class view

This house is so unique and special. The views of the pitons are indescribable. The things we most enjoyed- the view, especially yoga from the crows nest, also the stars, having evenings to watch TV in an air conditioned media room, pool days, meeting Mary and Pius and enjoying Mary’s cooking and Pius driving, naturally waking up to the daylight coming in. We ate went out for dinners at Ladera and close by soley kouche. Both were awesome. Things to know- we drove and also had Pius drive some. Wish we had gotten a 4 wheel drive but we made it without. Also adding Pius to rental insurance. The roads are rough and steep getting to the house and all over the island. The house location is awesome but know there it is highest house on mountain and not much close by. Thankfully Mary and Pius check in often and Pius answers what’s app quickly. We had some mosquitos and lizards but not many other critters. Just take bug spray. It is humid in St Lucia and even with the fan above the bed I was glad I took a portable small fan for night. Sugar beach is closest beach- I would personally not have wanted to walk there- very steep road. We drive down the road and parked on the side of the road closish to the beach. The beach is public, but the resort staff and bar aren’t the most welcoming if you are not staying at resort. Overall this place is so unique and amazing especially for the nature lover and we had such an adventurous but also relaxing time.

Back to nature

We enjoyed our time at this house. The view is amazing. We loved being away from the crowds at resorts and really appreciated the alone time. I recommend hiring Pius to drive you around. The house is hard to find and the roads are tricky. Mary is a great cook and makes the house welcoming. The pool was a huge benefit and I think we used it every day. We went diving 2 days and used Chester at Action Adventure diving. Chester was recommended in other reviews and made the dives perfect. Dive the wreck if you can. It rained almost every day very hard but only last a short time and then it’s sunny again. There was a nice breeze so it was never too hot. We are from Florida so we are used to the heat. It’s an open air concept so don’t book if you are afraid of a few lizards. We were never bothered by bugs though. If I had to find a negative it would be the bed in the primary was a bit hard and uncomfortable. This was by far the most memorable vacation and I’m glad we choose this house!

Hidden gem with abundant views

We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and couldn’t have picked a better location to stay. David was quick to respond to all communication. Mary & Pius were a true pleasure and very helpful during our stay. After a long day of travel, Mary’s welcome dinner was simply amazing. We wish we would have reserved another night ahead of time to enjoyed more of her cooking. The pics simply don’t do this place justice. The architecture, & attention to detail that went into building this place is incredible. We weren’t sure what to expect with the open air concept, but we were pleasantly surprised and had no issues with bugs. The evenings were cool and comfortable once the sun set, & the pool was refreshing after spending the day hiking and snorkeling in the sun. The view from the master bedroom & the observation tower is unreal, but there isn’t a bad view from anywhere here. The bathrooms with all of the stone and rock were the coolest! Many people spoke of needing ear plugs due to the sounds of nature at night, but we normally sleep with a white noise machine & didn’t need one and didn’t mind the noise at night. With the sun rising earlier here, & no way to block out the light we were always up way earlier than typical so if I had to do it over again, I would bring a sleep mask. I would MOST definitely recommend going to Soley Kouche for dinner one night. The view was great, drinks were yummy, & the food was spectacular!!

One of a kind - wonderful stay

Echoing much of the themes of previous reviews: wondeful, architecturally intriguing house, Mary and Pion are great, walked down to the Gross Piton trail, as well as to a beach. Had a wondeful time, and would not hesitate to book again! But a couple notes that weren't negatives for us, more like tradeoffs to keep in mind: - open air is great, but middle bedroom doesn't have as consistent airflow as other main bedroom, and is subject a little more to humidity. Half our nights were great - half were less so, had to move a fan from unused bedroom and/or sleep a little in the downstairs room w A/C to cool down before going up to bed. - will be a 15-20 min drive away from groceries / restaurants, and most any activity. Island is very geared toward serving guests at resorts, day-trips from cruise ships etc. so things like roadside stands, local gathering spots etc for independant travelers were not common here, so we're at house more than what we planned - which is not a bad thing! Like I said everything at the house was as-shown/-promised, if not better! If the house interests you, and can handle moderately bumpy roads with British-based driving, do it!

One of a kind view/house

The house has an incredible view. Features an open house concept which was both unique and enjoyable. Bedrooms had fantastic views. Pool was nice. Good kitchen to cook, the grill is propane and no longer requires charcoal so while we purchased some as the description stated to, it was not necessary, I wish that was updated. Home caretakers were friendly.
