Love the location! Disliked the elevator not working and the we were on the 4th floor…. Luggage was a nightmare. Our room had one toilet paper roll and no one to call for more, they charge for towels to be switched out. Was not that impressed with Rimfire.

Decent weekend--but with lots of concerns
Groomed slopes were decent, even tho it rained a bit--without snow-making equipment, there would've been no snow in mid-Feb. Lots of unannounced lift closures. Not "Ski-In/Ski-Out" by any stretch. It was a 2-3 min slightly uphill walk to the first lift and meeting area--But not a bad walk either. There is no "front desk" at the Rimfire--so if you were locked out of your room, or needed something hands-on, you had to go to the Top of the Mountain Check-in (1/2 mile up the road for almost anything. RFID keys keep riff-raff/non-guests out of buildings, so they're secure. But don't lose it! Ski lockers were TINY. If you had a few people's skis or boards, no way you're putting everything in there. I was told they needed to swipe my credit card for a deposit and incidentals. No problem. Upon checkout, I found an ADDITIONAL $50+ daily "resort fee" was charged to my card. So beware...

Everything was great accept the shower head was not working correctly. It just trickles so that was frustrating after a long ski day. You need a good hot shower.

We've been going to Snowshoe for years and decided to try a new place because the price and hot tub facing the sunset. We were a bit let down with the room, also got hit with an additional $206 resort charge once we arrived. The room was tiny, but the worst part was all the dust in the air. Weit was clean when we got there, but within a day everything was covered in a fine dust. I think they need some new air filtration.

Very disappointing upon check in. They added additional fee which they said was $25/day. I showed them my receipt and they said there was no mention of this additional fee. They took a copy of my receipt and said they would speak to the manager. They said they needed my credit card again for a hold. "Don't worry, nothing will be charger until we call you" I suddenly got a $200 dollar charge ($80/day) and no phone call or explanation. Disappointing, especially after this is my 6th year visiting.

Loved the room, perfect for what we needed. However, we had a room attached to a junior sweet. Took me two hours and three tips to the check in desk to get cards that worked. Did dishes Saturday morning and water drained all over the floor under dishwasher. Had to pay $40 to park in a resort we were staying at. Meanwhile GNCC had the parking across from us taken

Beautiful Resort, lacking in service
The room was clean and comfortable and the resort was beautiful. That being said we were placed directly under the construction on the roof and there appeared to be no one else in the resort building we were in. I had communicated with someone at the property regarding our reservation and she assured us the hot tubs and gym were open but they were not. There was an alarm going off in the adjacent electrical panel the entire time we were there, we called it in 3 times with no response. We were given a village view of construction instead of the gorgeous Mountain View. Overpriced for what was open, available, and the service we received.

So-So
The property was OK. The bathroom fan made a loud noise that had to be readjusted to quiet and one of the blinds could not be opened. I did not realize my booking actually was made through Expedia-whom I would NEVER choose to use-and I spent over 1 hr trying to adjust my reservation 1 month prior to the reservation to no avail. I would say the unit was too small, but it was chosen for the price.

Multiple folks had issues with the garage door not activating well with the card, so they may want to service that mechanism - I finally got out of the car and played with the keycard to get the door activated. The room could have used another light or two. It was dark in the kitchen area. Better directions about where the ski lockers were and what goes in them (boots or not) would be helpful. We had a dud of a coffee maker and service folks were great in quickly replacing it. Coffee filters would have been helpful, but we made due with paper towels. Overall, nice place and I'd happily go back.

Weekend getaway
Activities in the area are awesome! Zip line, chair lifts, bars/restaurants, entertainment right at the front door. The mattress on the bed was horrid. That mattress felt nonexistent, the springs feel as if you are sleeping directly on them. However, the resort itself for summer activities is awesome.

Overpriced, dated, no response from the front desk. Mold in the bath. I am used to luxury for that amount of money. Fell way short.

Comfort and ease!
The studio unit was quite spacious. The fireplace added a great touch. We have stayed elsewhere in Snowshoe and this was our favorite so far!

..be aware ..hidden fees ....
So ...first ...im not exactly sure whats the way to communicate with the owner ... i tried and i still haven't receive answer ....also its confusing the check in routine ....the other surprise was that i've owed $$ even tho i payed in full right away ,when the reservation was made ... so during check in i was informed that i owe $55ish resort fees .. which is not described on the listing .. ????!!!!!! The room itself is ok .. very small ... carpet is outdated ... looks filthy ....and you need to have engineer degree to be able to light up the fireplace .The basket for the coffee machine was missing ,i had to go look for housekeeping to find me one ....Location is good ...but once again ... on check in the surprise with the extra fees lives you with bitter taste right from the start ...

Photos were a little lacking. The condo is probably 12 x 30. There is a Murphy Bed and a pull out couch, which means when you sleep 4 you have to pack up both beds every day to have any space to move around at all. It's do-able, but inconvenient. Murphy bed was on the lower end of OK in comfort, while the pull out couch mattress was springs covered in fabric and not comfortable at all--for adults or kids.Bathroom was nice and large, very clean. The microwave made soup boil in 45 seconds...usually a sign in my experience that it is at the end of its life. Location was ideal, ski lockers available free of charge for poles and skis. Walk to slope and village. Interior of unit could use a facelift, but it worked for our shorter stay. Recommend this for two people...four is a squeeze.I would consider this unit again, but would look for other available options as well.

It was such a hassle to check in . Room wasn’t ready till 5pm. When first arrived in room there was a dirty wash cloth in sink. The fireplace in room didn’t work. The bed was uncomfortable

Great location for skiing
Great location for skiing. Close to shops and restaurants. Room could have been a little cleaner. The lockers where you have to keep your equipment are a pain but overall the stay was good.

Convenient, but typical ski condos
I've stayed at Snowshoe several times, I always like Rimfire because it has nice outdoor hot tubs, a Starbucks, and it seems to be shielded from the brutal winds that sometimes blow up the face of the mountain. These studio units are tiny, but they work for two people. I wouldn't try to put more people in one, though. Most of them don't have an actual bed, but a "murphy" bed, the ones that fold out from the wall. The "deluxe" units usually have a gas fireplace, which is nice, but if you turn it on you also have to run on the air conditioning. The units are small enough that the fireplace will heat them up to 100 degrees in a matter of minutes. We ended up in unit #144 this time, which was pretty typical of other Rimfire units, except it is located directly across from the elevator. It wasn't crowded this time of year, but I could see this unit being incredibly noisy during peak season.

I didn't appreciate an unknown "resort fee" imposed on me at check in. Hotels.com should have added this fee in or made me aware of it. I mostly likely won't use your site again for this reason.

A bit tired looking
The studio was fine. But it was small and worn. When we had the pullout couch in use there was hardly enough from to walk around the room with our suitcases / ski gear. At over $200 a night I was hoping for better than this. The resort in general is in a nice location but looks like it is ready to be spruced up.

You can't judge this book by its cover - horrible!
Like basically everything at Snowshoe, looks great on the outside and horrendously dated and filthy on the inside. Our "deluxe junior" studio (what an oxymoron) condo unit has a Murphy bed which was poorly placed and barely fit in the unit. Unfortunately, you have no say in which rental unit you're placed in so some are better than others. Combined with the lack of accessible wifi, poor customer service in restaurants, lift attendants literally asleep at the controls and unfavorable snow conditions, it's a wonder why we ever drive 4.5 hours each way to Snowshoe. Intrawest is failing this market and doesn't seem to care.

100 yrd walk to slopes is awesome.
Only at&t service avail. No verizon. So be prepared to be out of touch. And 2-1/2 hours of winding road switch backs and hairpin turns once you get off i64.

Outdated, old hotel room.
We had a very bad experience with this hotel stay. Check in was supposed to be at 3pm according to Expedia but when we arrived the hotel told us it was at 5pm. We requested to be checked in early because of a sick child but they were not very accommodating and we had to wait to get checked in. We booked our lift tickets for 1 day in advance but were charged almost triple that at the hotel for just a few hours.

Clean lodge, nice surrounding area. Awesome view
The only complaint was that we had no idea we had to check in at another location. Having never been in that area before it would have been nice if when I booked it I got that info up front. Otherwise room was nice and clean and it was easy access once we got our room keys. We would stay there again.

Compact but complete for 2 people
There are pros and cons to this place (just like anything). Great price, at the heart of the village, close to everything. The junior studio deluxe suite is very compact which we did not realize. The pictures do not convey that the dining table folds up and a bed pulls down. The room is not super spacious. That said, it has everything 2 people could need. We were here for wanderlust, and it was nice to have a kitchenette and pots and pans and silverware and plates. Everything we needed was here. No way is this space big enough for any more than 2 people though.

Worth it
Hotel is right in the village of Snowshoe and allows easy access to all Snowshoe activities. It's a bit dated, but it definitely feels like a ski lodge. Wish the stay could have been longer, definitely recommend it!

In the center of it all
This is a great place to stay. It could stand a little updating but overall it was wonderful. It's right in the center of the village, close to all of the shopping and restaurants and also a very short walk to ski lifts.
