Sunshine on The Sound offers comfort, tranquility and adventure. Something for everyone. Walk a couple of minutes to the beach, drive to the only drive-on beach to fish and swim or just take in the breathtaking views from your sunroom overlooking the marsh, the intercoastal and bird life followed by a soak in the screened hot tub. This 3 bed, 2 bath single family home is newly renovated and comfortably appointed for your perfect vacation experience. Book now! You will not be disappointed. The house is surrounded on two sides by remarkable panoramic marsh views. The great room has high ceilings which provide light and plenty of seating for watching movies on the large screen TV and making family memories. The sunroom has massive windows for your enjoyment of the outside. breathtaking. The kitchen is fully stocked and large enough to make full meals or quick beach snacks. There is a large table for family meals or puzzles and game time for the inside days. For more time outside, you can relax with a cup of coffee and watch the sunrise or a cocktail and watch the sunset on one of the many balconies with seating. There is also a great screened in hot tub area and an outdoor shower as well as a fish cleaning area for the big catch. Ready for some down time? There are 4 smart TV’s as well as many games, puzzles and books for some awesome family time and competition! You have a large table and chairs for enjoying a meal outside. There is a beautiful screened in hot tub area and changing room for your enjoyment. There is an outdoor shower to rinse off after a day at the beach. There is also an assortment of beach chairs and other beach gear available (varies at times what all is available as we try to keep things updated and remove anything too worn or rusted). There is also a fish cleaning station for those that make a big catch so you can clean and enjoy your rewards. Access is super easy! No need to keep up with keys as you will have your own unique access code good for the duration of your stay. There is parking for 4 to 5 cars, there is no parking available on the street as you will get ticketed. There is a Ring Doorbell for safety, but no cameras inside the property for your privacy. We are very responsive to any guest communications! Communication is preferred through the AirBnB app. We are local to the Island and here to help in any way. Must be at least 25 years of age to rent and there must be a guest of that age staying during the entire length of the stay. ✓ This is a NON SMOKING home. ✓ Dog friendly with fee. Please let us know the breed and size of your dog/dogs. Bring your dog and let them play in the beautiful back yard. We allow 2 dogs under 50lb. or message us about an exception. We also have some breed restrictions so message us. We enjoyed our relaxing vacation in this beautiful and very clean home. Cute coastal decor and the king beds and couch were comfy. The beautiful views were the best part! Pictures don’t do it justice…so much better in person! We also enjoyed sitting outside on the high quality deck furniture. We loved the serenity and seclusion of this location! I also had the pleasure of meeting Jim who was very helpful and friendly.

August 2025 Vacation

My wife, a mutual friend, and I stayed here for roughly a week. We brought along our two pups, and had a blast! The outdoor shower was perfect for washing off the sand (for dogs and humans alike), and the balconies were perfect for allowing the fabulous view of the sound to be truly appreciated. Several times, V-280s flew overhead and their presence was a welcome add to our dinner conversations. The kitchen is spacious, the fridge is the perfect size (large), and the beds were extremely comfortable. The washer and dryer came in clutch, as did the beach chairs. Although we did not end up using it, there is also a hot tub in a screened in porch. All in all, we had a great time at this spot and would definitely go again!

Sunshine on the Sound

Simply put, it was great. I stayed three nights and it had everything I needed. The hot tub and the grill were an added plus. The location at the end of the street but right behind the marsh was perfect. This last comment had nothing to do with the owner, but be prepared for the loud boom sound that happens throughout the night and sometimes in the day. It woke me up in the night and shakes the house. This may be in part to the close proximity to the military base. Overall it was a wonderful stay.

For the Family who Walks Together

The atmosphere of your stay can be easily taken in from the drive. With its beautiful placement at the end of a slow going; end road, and its stilted design distinct to that of coastal homes. You are welcomed to this private beach by home, with an elegant walk around porch. Overlooking the inner channel and its elegant botanical parodise and all of its wildlife to behold with three distinct vantage points to choose to view. A comfortable and private heated outdoor shower and spa area, and for the anglers a easy spot to work and clean your day's catch. However the family can rest assure the inside has all the needs from home already to be put to use. Take a minute to familiarize with the home and you'll find most everything is waiting. From blenders in the kitchen to wifi on the television to plenty of shampoo and conditioner in the showers. This three bedroom 2 bath is a fantastic place to spend you've vacation. Just a short walk and a good conversation to the beach and you'll find that Mom and Dad can take comfort in the family friendly speeds of the dead end roads. Just mind the tide. Just because you're stuff was in a dry spot when you went for that beach walk, doesn't ensure its dryness..or placement upon returning. However in case of the inevitable laundry run. No worries the washer and dryer are there at your convenience and with detergent at the ready. Just be sure to rinse them out well of any beach debret before running a load. Enjoy, we did.
