It was an excellent place to use as home base for our family of 2 adults, 2 teens, and a bonus teen exchange student! One spacious king size master and one queen size bedroom upstairs with ac units and a full bath upstairs. Downstairs was another bedroom with two twin beds and another full bathroom. Also downstairs included kitchen with full appliances (including coffee maker and microwave), spacious dining area for eating and for board games, cozy living room with couch, armchair, and tv (and small coffee table that can be moved out of the way if you need to get a morning Pilates workout in!), and a laundry room with washer and dryer. Outside areas included front patio chairs, upper balcony lookout, and a backyard firepit - and a trail we didn’t end up getting to since we already did so much hiking this trip to waterfalls in the area! Adequate dishes (could use a few more tupperwares for leftovers), plenty of spare linens and towels, good toilet paper - and they even left a couple of frozen pizzas for our first night there so we didn’t have to scrounge for dinner after a long drive! No ac downstairs but the windows and cool tile actually kept downstairs pretty cool most of the time—we only needed the upstairs on a couple days where it got to 78. Not far from Munising, where we did our grocery shopping and some of our activities (like the sunset Pictured Rocks cruise) started off. This gets a 10 out of 10 from me and I would definitely stay here again!

Cabin is just the right size fr a small family vacation! Hosts were amazing! My only complaint is that it didn’t have air conditioning n the main floor. Room air conditioning units upstairs…

Snowmobile Paradise

Booked the property and Dennis and Diane messaged me shortly after introducing themselves. This was the first weekend after the warm spell in the UP 2024/2025. We were nervous about snow totals and trail conditions but Dennis assured us everything will be okay and gave us updates by the day which was really nice reassurance for our trip. Access to the trail was amazing and the property was in the absolute perfect spot to ride on that side of the UP. Plenty of places to park trucks and trailers and plenty of room to turn around a pickup truck and a 25 ft trailer. The house was very clean, cozy, and spacious. They even provided pizzas and a case of water for us which is very thoughtful. We had 6 guys in our group and there was still plenty of room for more if you bring an air matress or two. We will be coming here every single time we ride this way in the UP. Thank you for providing such an amazing spot for any kind of UP activities!

The perfect weekend getaway

Wonderful Property

My wife and daughter stayed here for 3 days and loved the property. Hosts are extremely hospitable and even provided a frozen pizza for them upon arrival. Not all hosts are so thoughtful. Property was stocked with everything they needed for the stay. My wife has stayed at several properties and this one by far was one of the top ones she stayed at with respect to what the property provided, cleanliness, layout and everything working in the property. We will definitely look to book here again in the event we are in back in the area. Can't say enough how great this property is.

Our daughter’s destination wedding nearby.

Welcoming. We were very close to all the activities we needed to get to and still had a peaceful place to unwind. Especially loved the fire pit and the ripening blackberries we found. I can imagine how perfect the property is for winter fun!

Everything and More!

Thank you, Dennis and Diane! The Island Pond Lodge was the perfect home away from home. Spacious, spotless, welcoming, well stocked, with close access to Munising, we looked forward to relaxing when returning from a long day of sightseeing. Our daughters loved the chance to fish, roast s'mores at the fire pit, and view the milky way from the front yard. The parents appreciated being able to put the kids to bed and still enjoy some visiting time!

Quiet, wilderness cabin

Our stay at Pond Island Lodge was great. Close to all the surrounding communities, clean and everything you might need. We loved the snacks, water and pizza in the freezer upon arrival. No need to run to the store if arriving late. Finding the location was a little difficult in the day time so I would recommend arriving in daylight. It is tucked back off the road. We had a link for the address but cell service might be spotty. Have that handy incase. Overall it was delightful and we'd rent again. Thank you!

This is a beautiful piece of property!

We went to the Sand Beach Point for the day. A need to visit if you have time! Came back and relaxed. The visit was short but sweet!

There aren't enough stars!

If we could give more than 5 stars, we would! Very nice property, fully furnished, and the owners even provided pizza, a bunch of snacks and bottled water. Even though our bonfire plans were rained out, we had a great experience. Love the communication!

UP snowmobile trip

Great quiet location. Property was really clean and spacious. My son and I went snowmobiling for the weekend and we will definitely be back here. The property is really close to the trails and restaurants. The host Dennis was great and really helpful with information about the area and made the trip great!
