Shasta 7 day stay

Though we like the fact we had 2 acres to stay on, and a quiet neighborhood all the amenities were not functional. We could not access the front door, after the first Night. We had to get the owners to remotely let us in. They gave us the code to access the house through the garage, but the door going from the kitchen to the garage fell off.(we could obviously not lock it after that) The owners offered to send a handyman, but since we could not be there when he was coming we declined. The last night we stayed, the front door would not lock either, It is a older house but not in the best of shape. The pool sweep did not work, pool was somewhat dirty, we did not use it. There were other things but no need to go any further. The owners did give back 100, but hardly enough to justify the issues we encountered. The owners offered to give us a 25% discount for future stay, we will decline the offer. Do not feel that it was worth the money. Made the vacation difficult to relax.

Fleas, lies, and not so many butterflies

We were incredibly disappointed with our stay at this rental. Shortly after arriving, we discovered the property had fleas, which completely derailed our vacation. Instead of relaxing, we spent the majority of our time cleaning, vacuuming, and trying to avoid getting bitten.We reached out to the owner, who initially promised to ā€œmake things right.ā€ Unfortunately, that promise fell flatā€”we were only refunded 125, which doesnā€™t begin to cover the inconvenience and discomfort we endured. To add insult to injury, they offered us 20% off a future stayā€”as if weā€™d ever return after such an experience.We expect basic cleanliness and hygiene from any vacation rental, and this one failed on both counts. Save yourself the trouble and book elsewhere.

Relaxing and spacious

The host was understanding and helpful, the home is well appointed and it was lovely soaking at night. We made the mistake of thinking we were booking closer to Mount Shasta so had long drives since it was a ski trip, so next time we will be more careful. It was a good spot for family and friends to cook together and relax in a comfortable neighborhood and spacious home. Thank you!

Good house and location for group trip

The location and size of the house was great. There are many toys and activities for all ages. It was close to Shasta Lake, Caverns, hiking, and Redding. There fires and smoke in area, but this is not the fault of the hosts. Just bad luck. I would come here again.

Great location for boating week on Shasta

We were a family of 8, 4 adults and 4 kids. We had plenty of space and the house was well stocked with all of the amenities. We brought our boat and ended up parking on the street, it felt safe and fine. Great location to Centimudi boat launch (10 minutes door to door). Lovely hilly community.

Place was very clean, comfortable and well stocked. Communicated with the host throughout who was very friendly. We were here for boating and rented an inexpensive slip at Bridge Bay for the week which worked out great. There is a Dollar General and small market near the property where we could restock up as needed.

Relaxing spacious property surrounded by greenery.

Spacious, clean and above all very well stocked house. We travelled with kids and parents and the house was perfect for us. There was ample things to do for the kids (hot tub, pool, game room, TV) and for adults to relax. The house is in a quiet neighborhood surrounded by greenery. I had multiple decks/patio and a screen room to sit outside and relax. We really appreciated that the house was very well stocked. It had everything you may need from pool towels to extra blankets, baby chair, video games, board games to a well stocked kitchen with spices, oil and even some canned food/soups and fruits. We didn't really need much help from the owners but they were very responsive to our messages. Strongly recommended.

Beautiful and peaceful property

This house was perfect for our stay. We used the hot tub a bunch :) Easy access to Lake Shasta and the 5. We traveled up to the Shasta Ski Park, out to Weaverville and drove around Redding. The only unfortunate thing was the rainy weather. We will be back and would love to stay at Kokanee Grove again.

A great time hanging out at Kokanee Grove

I would highly recommend staying here! The house was great, clean and smelled nice. We enjoyed the pool, hanging out in the large living room and the game room was a fun bonus. Its close driving distance to Lake Shasta and we also explored WhiskeyTown Recreation Area. The host was quick and responsive to any questions we had.

Family vacation

My brother and I had both our families staying for a vacation in the Shasta region. Very nice place, quiet, clean, spacious. The pool was great for these hot days, and the location is central which allowed us to discover Shasta Lake, Mt Shasta, Lassen park. Would certainly come back if we plan another trip in the region.

We stayed at the lake house for 3 nights. We visit Shasta primarily for the lake, so the location was perfect, it was less than 10 min drive to Centimudi boat ramp. The house was spacious with absolutely everything we needed. Easy self check in. It was very clean upon arrival and even pre-cooled during the hot summer weather. We used pool which we loved when the sun went down. Didnā€™t use the hot tub due to high temperatures. I liked the fact that we could feel private, we never saw the neighbors around. Just heads up for those who are looking for a privacy, there is a small cottage sharing the same front yard. We got lucky and it was vacant at the time of our visit. The host was very thoughtful about everything in the house to make her guests comfortable. There wasnā€™t anything that I needed that I couldnā€™t find in the house. There were couple things that didnā€™t work during our stay but we got notified ahead of time and didnā€™t have any problems. Things happen when people rent your house, something can be damaged or broken, but itā€™s all fixable. We had excellent communication from the host, quick response and right to the point. Thanks again for sharing your lake house with us, we made good memories and will definitely recommend your place to friends and family.

Disappointed

There were several issues with the property. The washer and dryer were not usable. The guest bathroomā€™s shower was clogged and not usable. The pool, hot tub and outside areas were not clean when we arrived. All of these items were listed as amenities but they were not usable. Be careful, not child proof.
