Wonderful Place to Enjoy the Area
The location was excellent and the property was very well suited for our group. We couldn't have been happier with the house, and the area was very convenient to the Cayuga and Seneca Wine Trails. We would happily stay here again.

Hops, Grapes and Lakes was Spectacular!
We rented this beautiful home for a 70th birthday party for a twin sister and brother. 8 people stayed for the long weekend and 5 more joined for lunch to celebrate. Everything was perfect! The layout is such that everyone could find a place to sit and chat, share a glass of wine, or enjoy the beautiful lake view from the porch. The house is very convenient to so many interesting places to visit that are within 10-20 minutes. That, of course is only if you can tear yourselves away from the house!! Beds are comfy, furniture is too…. Bathrooms are spacious… it was just Spectacular. Thanks so much for letting us rent it! We’ll be back!

Wonderful front porch & lots of space for everyone
Great house! 5 beds plenty of Space for teenagers. We had a great time celebrating my husbands 53rd birthday. Went to the park down the road to out in our kayaks twice. Rented a pontoon boat in Seneca Lake for the day-20 minutes away. And did a lot of reading and relaxing on the front porch. Kitchen was well stocked and we used the puzzles they had. Never turned in the TV. It was a great long weekend stay. Thank you for letting us use your beautiful home!

Loved it…
The house was spacious and had everything we needed. The front porch was an awesome area, comfortable …we played guitars one evening on the porch, went boating, visited wineries, saw dozens of waterfalls, hiked…was just what we were looking for in a summer vacation!!

Great house and location
This was perfect for our family summer week together (5 adults and 3 children). The house was very comfortable and roomy for everyone. The location was central to our activities, which included wine and cheese tastings, the Sciencenter in Ithaca (excellent for kids!), a boat tour, bird watching, waterfalls, great food and drink, and the beach and playground just a half mile down the road.

A Little Slice of Heaven
WOW! Just - WOW! This home and location were fantastic! We were more than surprised by the size of this home (the pictures simply do not do it justice). This home and property were very well maintained. It had everything that you needed for a week’s stay. The bedrooms were much bigger than we thought, the living room was huge, the dining room was just as impressive, and the butler’s pantry & kitchen were perfect. There was plenty of room for 10 adults. The best feature of this home was the massive front porch. For our group, we spent a lot of the time , when we were home, on the front porch which had a beautiful view of Lake Cayuga. The location was perfect and getting to and from the home after visiting a winery (there were A LOT), a restaurant, or a hike was easy. We weren’t staying in a house but rather a home. It was very inviting and had a familiar feeling. I had a chance to talk to both Susie and Steve and they were really friendly, nice, and gracious. If you want THE PERFECT home to stay in while visiting the Finger Lakes area, do yourself a favor and book this home. Our group cannot wait to go back again!

Local College Graduation
The house was beautiful and perfect for our needs. Our daughter graduated from Wells College that weekend. We were able to host a small luncheon after the graduation ceremony. The proximity of the house to the college, stores, wine/cheese venues, the lake, diners and eateries was perfect! Beds were very comfortable! Coffee bar was perfect and so was sitting on the front porch with my coffee, watching the sunrise! I would definitely stay again!!

Excellent Time in Finger Lakes
Six friends stayed at this beautiful home for a long weekend to see the area and go on a wine tour. The house was more than I expected, large, very clean, easy access and good communication with the owner. We look forward to returning to the Finger Lakes soon and will defimitely consider staying here again!

Girls getaway
This is a trip that five girls have done every fall for the past 17 years, going to a different location every year. Our trip to Seneca Falls was wonderful and provided us with lovely memories to enjoy for many years to come. The house is exactly as listed, very spacious and relaxing. Couldn’t have been any better!
The location of the property was perfect; We had beautiful views of Lake Cayuga, and the most peaceful mornings on the porch to start the days. There was plenty of room to accommodate out party of 10, and everyone had the best time. Can’t wait to visit this property again!

Perfect Lakeview Getaway
Had an amazing experience renting this property. The home is beautiful and grand with an excellent view of the lake. A perfect place to stay while away from home. The owner was great at communicating with me and provided every detail needed to enjoy our stay. Can't wait to plan another trip to the finger lakes.

Weekend getaway
This was a great property for a weekend getaway. The house is massive and is a great deal for the price. All of the rooms are spacious and the beds are comfortable. The porch was our favorite part. We could sit on the porch swing or rocking chairs and watch the sunrise.

Wonderful family get away
We had such a nice time with the whole family! Plenty of room for everyone to spread out. We spent a lot of time on the porch looming at the lake. Proximity to other activities also key - wineries, breweries, spa day at the casino etc. thank you Susie for sharing your home!

Furniture, Air Conditioners and overall condition
We enjoyed the area. House furniture in the living room consists of an old worn out sectional sofa. With 5 bedrooms we had 7 adults and two young children. The living room is large enough for furniture, but only had a sectional sofa. All found the sagging section uncomfortable to sit on for long. Chairs in dining room are also in very poor condition along with dining room table. Same problem with spending time together, chairs and bench too hard and worn out to stay seated in for any length of time. The glass cabinet in the dining room has heavy items on top. A large candle opera, metal art on top of cabinet and 3 canisters of marbles inside on the top shelf This made it unstable and dangerous for our 4 and 1 1/2 year olds. We moved it into another area and turned it around to protect them from the glass and tipsy cabinet. Wiped a spill off the dining room floor and the towel was black with filth. Air conditioners in windows did not keep the house comfortable and if you are not used to window units the are very loud compared to whole house air conditioning. In the home owner’s manual it describes a sticking door to the laundry room the keeps mice out. How about just fixing the door and mice issue? Also peeling paint (lead?) on the laundry door and on the front porch. A loose board with nails sticking out of it above your head on the front porch pillar. Bench in side room entrance where you put your shoes would tip over if you sat near either end. As this is our first experience with VRBO it will likely be our last. Properties in this poor condition apparently are not regulated. Overpriced for condition of furniture. We would share pictures if there was a way to upload.

Scott, Thank you for staying at our home. We are sorry that your stay did not meet your expectations. We are very transparent with the description and photos of the home, including a welcome guide and fully disclosed House Manual that breaks down each room and its contents that is provided to our guests when booking. The home decor and furniture (as shown in our photos) is a mixture of antique and more updated furniture. The sectional was bought brand new, only 6 years ago. The dining room table and chairs are antique but have never have been reviewed as unconformable or in poor condition. The curio cabinet in the dining room has never been reviewed as unstable. Again, all of these furnishings are in photos for review before booking. In the house manual we mention wild life in our area. The home was built in 1890 and during the winter months, on occasion, we have found a mouse or 2 in the utility room. We suggest keeping the door shut between the utility room and kitchen as a precaution. Also the house has preventative treatment twice a year for all rodents and insects. Regarding the paint on the door and the porch pillars it ABSOLUTELY DOES NOT CONTAIN LEAD. The 1890's property as stated in the house manual "Is not perfect". However, it is far from poor condition. The windows are new, vinyl, and insulated. Last summer the entire house was painted inside. Both porches were recently replaced with composite decking and vinyl railings. The pillars on the front porch do need a coat of paint. As for the nails on a piece of wood, it was a last resort solution to keep a very persistent robin from building her nest there, which would have interfered with our guests enjoying the front porch. If you were not familiar with window air conditioners, we would have helped you with the settings if you had contacted us. We have never had a complaint or any problems keeping the entire house cool with 7 window units, even in the hottest months. We will address these concerns as needed. Again, Thank you and we apologize our home did not meet your expectations. Susie & Steve

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful home. The owners were very responsive to any questions or concerns. Would definitely recommend this to any vacationers in the area, particularly if you need a home with plenty of space and a well equipped kitchen.

Bachelorette Weekend
My friends and I rented this property to stay and celebrate my upcoming wedding. We had a wonderful time, as the house has nice views of the lake from the front porch. It had an overall very homey feel which was comforting. All of us enjoyed our time here!

Amazing property!
I can’t say enough good things about this property and the owners. We were in Syracuse for my daughters graduation and we had 10 family members staying at the property. Perfectly Charming Winter Weekend in FLX
We booked a last-minute getaway with 4 other couples to enjoy the Cayuga and Seneca Wine Trails. The location of this house is perfect for enjoying both lakes, and the house oozes charm and character. Everything about the house was as described, and the heat, hot water, and water pressure worked great. Susie was easy to reach and quick to respond to our questions. Susie and Steve’s home manual was a great resource not only for things in and around the house, but also great recommendations for local attractions, restaurants, and shops. We highly recommend this rental.

Very beautiful house and area. The only thing we were surprised about was the need to bring your own toilet paper, salt and pepper etc. I may have missed this in the description. Otherwise, beautiful home.

Convenient Stay for Short Trip
Susie was very prompt with all of our communications and super helpful when it came to extra requests from us. She arranged to have extra chairs brought into the home so my 10 person family could enjoy Thanksgiving dinner there. The house was as expected based on the listing.

First trip to the Finger Lakes
The house was nice with plenty of room and everything we needed. The detailed listing was accurate. The communication with the homeowner was excellent. Susie provided great suggestions for exploring the area. It was located on a quiet street across from the lake. The front porch and the tree swing were favorites! It was in a good location to explore the finger lakes region. It would be a great place if you are in the area for the wineries.
