Cosy Cottage with a guesthouse and jacuzzi on Golden Circle, sleeps up to 6 people. Registration number HG-00010206 The cottage is located near Borg í Grímsnesi, and 20 minutes from Selfoss. 4 Bedrooms, 1 1/2 Bathroom, Sleeps up to 6 people in 2 houses. If you book for more then 4 people you will also have access to the guesthouse. PROPERTY DESCRIPTION: The property has two houses and a big garden and accommodates up to 6 people. There is a large patio with jacuzzi, garden furniture and a BBQ. MAIN HOUSE (MAX 4-6 people) The main house is 55 m2, that can accommodate 4 people. It is well equipped, there is as 42“ TV (and apple TV) in the living room and there is a good open and fully furnished kitchen with a fridge, freezer, dishwasher and small stove, baking oven and a microwave are located in laundry room. One bathroom with a shower and a hair dryer is in the main house. Bedrooms in the main house are for 4 people:-First bedroom with king size bed 180cm and a wardrobe. Second bedroom with a 140cm size bed and a 70 cm bunk bed above it, plus a wardrobe. There is a laundry room with a washing machine. Sheets, linen and towels are included in the price, as well as soap, and washing liquid for the washing machine. THE GUESTHOUSE (4 people): The guesthouse is 25 m2 and can accommodate up to 4 people. It is separated from the main house. It has 2 bedrooms one with a bed 140 cm size and one with 160 cm bed and a WC with sink, but NO SHOWER. The guesthouse is only rented out with the main house, never separately. Please let us know if you are interested in renting the guesthouse also. The main house is only for 6 people. OUTSIDE: The jacuzzi is standing on the patio where there are also garden furniture. LOCATION: The house is located on the Golden circle, and sights such as Thingvellir the Icelandic national park, Gullfoss waterfall, Geysir geothermal area and Kerið crater, are all within an hour´s drive from the house. The location is a perfect base for taking day trips to explore the southern part of Iceland as well as the western part or the highlands in the summertime. There is a swimming pool with hot tubs (Minni borg) located 5 minutes drive from the cottage. The house is located approx 55 min (75km) drive from the capital Reykjavík, and there is only 15- 20 min drive to the next village, Selfoss, and about 90 min drive from the international airport Keflavik. Less than 15 minutes drive from the house is Route 1, the road that circles around Iceland. On that road you can venture further south along the southern shore to see sights such as Reynisdrangar, Reynisfjara or visit Vík village. The ferry to Westmann Islands from Landeyjarhöfn is about one hour´s drive away. Further east you'll find Skaftafell and the famous Jokulsarlon (Vatnajokull glacier lagoon) as well as many other magnificent landmarks. GOLF COURSES: Two great 18 hole golf courses are 10 minutes away, Kidjaberg is the better one but Ondverdarnes is a good challenge as well. There are also golf courses in Hraunborgir (10 min), Laugarvatn (15 min), Selfoss (20 min), Úthlíð (30 min), Flúðir (30 min) and more. In the neighborhood you can also go horseback riding, hiking, river rafting, glacier walking, snorkeling, Ice cave tours, caving, super jeep tours, snowmobile tours, angling etc. depending on the season of the year, or just relax and enjoy the nature.

This was our second time in Iceland and love the location of this cottage. Selfoss is close for grocery and food, but the cottage is just far enough out of town to enjoy nature! Highly recommend!

Perfect Base station

My family of 5 used this as our base camp while we explored the southern portion of the island. This house is secluded yet close to attractions and town! The house is well stocked for anything you can think of!This place is perfect for anyone that doesn't want to rent a camper and drive the entire ring road. Selfoss is a 20 minute drive and the hot tub was absolutely perfect after a day of hiking and exploring!

Fantastic location, cozy house

We loved our stay here! The location was great for seeing the Golden Circle, and was less than an hour from Reykjavik. The house was clean and tidy, and have a hot tub was nice after a lot of hiking. Absolutely no issues with the property and I would definitely recommend it to anyone staying in Iceland!

The property was immaculately clean, and spacious. The cooktop is only two burners, but this is more than made up for by the Nespresso coffee maker, the microwave and bake oven, and a very well functioning Weber barbecue.We all enjoyed the sparkling, clean, hot tub.While a 20 minute drive from Selfoss, this location was perfect for us for tours to Grindvik, Geysir, Thingvellir, Vik and the multiple beautiful waterfalls.

Großartiges Haus, allerdings für 10 pers. zu klein

Es war sauber, gemütlich und das Bett war sehr bequem. Für 10 Personen wäre nur eine Dusche und der Esstisch etwas klein. Wir waren zu 5 und es war sehr schön. Es gibt einen schönen warmen Whrilpool und sogar einen Grill (den wir nicht benutzt haben)

Perfect week in Iceland

Being our first time in Iceland, we didn't know what to expect. Everything was perfect from the weather to the cottage. The cottage was exactly how it was described. We never needed to contact the owner.since clear instructions were left. Check in and out was easy. The hot tub was wonderful after a long day of site seeing. We can't wait to return.

So perfect

My husband and I stayed for about a week here and we had the best time. The house was perfect for us. Clean, comfortable, just as pictured. It was the perfect location for visiting the golden circle and south Iceland. We had a bad storm one night and the host reached out beforehand to let us know that the roads would be dangerous. Couldn’t ask for a kinder host. We loved every minute of our trip. Thank you for opening your home to us.

Big groups

Lots of space, plenty of sleeping arrangement room, very user-friendly kitchen outdoor lounge and lots of space outdoors to lounge. We found this location in the center of everything we wanted to do. We drove five hours north to the whale watching capital of the world ( saw dozens of humpbacks ), drove two hours to the east to walk on glaciers and ride on ATVs over black lava sand beaches , an hour from the ferry south to vestmannaer and a superb waterfall , An hour north to Snorkel between the tectonic plates, and about two hours from Rekjavik, blue lagoon, and the airport.

A Goldilocks Visit

Everything was just perfect about our stay! Our host was very accessible prior to, during, and after our stay. She offered helpful tourism information from weather to sights to proper gear to bring for the season. The property itself was cozy while still offering a fun, spacious loft for my 10-year old to sleep in and a detached guesthouse (with a second toilet) for my teenagers who preferred more privacy. The setting was close to all the major tourist sites but far enough out into the countryside that we had the necessary darkness to view the northern lights (twice!) during our stay. The hot tub was an additional bonus after a busy day of sightseeing. I highly recommend this property to anyone!

Comfortable stay

Loved staying here. We only had one unplanned surprise. We may have missed this in the listing but the instructions ask you to take all your trash with you. We drove hours with our son holding a full bag of trash until we found a place to dispose of it. We actually named our bag since he travelled with us for so long. Other than our bag of trash, it was a nice stay.

Das Objekt entspricht vollumfänglich den Angaben und Beschreibungen der Homepage.Einen Stern Abzug gibt es von uns für den verschmutzten Backofen, vermutlich waren es neben den starken Verkrustungen auch Pizza-Reste. Auch wenn wir den Backofen selbst nicht genutzt haben, wurde durch uns alles in einen ordentlichen Zustand gebracht.Ansonsten gibt es keine Beanstandungen und bei gutem Wetter ist auch der nicht einsehbare Gartenbereich gut nutzbar.Sehr positiv war die sehr gute kommunikative Betreuungnebst der Tipps (inklusive Himmelfahrt) durch die Familie Gosewisch als Vermieter! Hierfür möchten wir uns herzlich bedanken!

Fantastic place for celebrating a special birthday with my family!

We loved our week in Iceland. The cottage was warm and comfortable and had everything we needed. The beds were extremely comfortable. Being remote it was a brilliant place to see the Northern lights which was fantastic from the hot tub! Lots of exciting places to visit within 2hrs driving. Selfoss good for supermarket shopping only 20 mins away. The only improvement to the property would be for hot water and shower in the guest lodge, there were 7 adults in our party so there was often a queue for the shower. However, the shower was good and there was plenty of hot water. The kitchen was really well equipped with a nice big fridge and dishwasher. Having all the essentials like washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, soap, cleaning products, tea, coffee, salt pepper etc made it even better. Brynhidur was always quick at answering our questions and even left us birthday chocolates. A great place to stay -thank you so much!

A gem!

We loved this little cottage; it was perfect for the three of us! The living area was bright and warm, the beds were wonderfully comfortable, and the showerhead felt like a massage. The kitchen was well stocked with all essentials & my husband was able to use the gas grill without issue a few times. We appreciated the washing machine and drying rack – that saved us miles on the rental car and time out of our day(s) trying to find a laundromat. We never got around to using the hot tub, so I cannot comment on that, but the community the cottage is in was so peaceful and quiet – no cars or trucks rumbling by or other noise distractions. We heard nothing but the birds and the breeze in the trees. We were very close to many of the highlights on the Ring Road – from Kerið Crater four miles away all the way out to the black sand beach in Vik, which was two hours away. We were able to see everything listed in “What’s Nearby” and much more. Brynhildur is a terrific host, answering our questions without delay. She has a gem in this cottage, and I would love the opportunity to rent again when we return to Iceland!
