Introduction
Thank you for your interest in "Whats Up Dock". A 2 BR 1.5 bath townhome in the family friendly Mallard Lakes Community. Our home is clean, smoke free and child friendly. It receives fresh updates and has been professionally decorated. Perfect for a quick weekend getaway or a month's long retreat.

Location
"Whats Up Dock" provides three necessary parts to anchor (pun intended) your vacation; location, space and comfort. The home is a part of the Mallard Lakes Community which is close enough to enjoy Fenwick Island, Ocean City, Rehoboth Beach, but far enough away from the craziness of ā€œcondo canyonā€. The grounds and amenities are meticulously maintained year round. We provide the best rental location in Mallard Lakes, just steps to the main swimming pool, hot tub and tennis courts. The home is not buried deep in the community, easy in and easy out. There is a marina within walking distance with restaurants and shops. Easy traffic light entrance and exit eliminates turning headaches during the busy summer season.

Waterfront Sunroom
Did someone say waterfront? Oh yes I did. The sunroom frames direct unobstructed views of the the dock amidst the sparkling sapphire lake while a diverse species of coastal wildlife put on a show for you. Complimentary adult and child binoculars are provided along with a local bird guide. When you are done prop up your feet and allow the fountain to lull you into that long overdue nap! The sunroom is also wired for music with Infinity speakers. Just sync your smart device with the bluetooth stereo receiver and stream away using our complimentary high speed wifi.

Bedrooms and Bathrooms
The tastefully appointed waterview master suite features a king sized bed with an attached bathroom. Inside there are 2 large skylights that provide an abundance of natural light, a dual sink vanity and oversized soaking tub with upgraded shower hardware. The second bedroom contains a bunk bed with single mattresses and a full sized pillow top bed. Each bedroom is equipped with a wall mounted flat screen tv with expanded cable including HBO. The first floor offers a 2 piece powder room off the kitchen.

Kitchen
In the kitchen you will find a breakfast bar with stools and all of the cooking conveniences you should expect; clean and current appliances, quality pots and pans, cooking utensils, grilling utensils, complete knife set, flatware and matching dish set. Wine, beer, margarita & tumbler glasses round out the glassware offerings. Children's plates, bowls, cups and utensils are also stocked.

Living Room
Enjoy lake views from the living room as you relax on the sleeper sofa or lounge in the armchair and ottoman. Even in the summer you can enjoy the ambiance of the remote controlled heat-free fireplace. Enjoy your favorite shows and movies on the large flat screen tv with expanded cable including HBO. There is a ROKU installed with complimentary access to Netflix, Hulu and Amazon Prime. Guests are welcome to view purchased videos in our Amazon library and may rent videos after requesting pin code from owner (cost will be retained from security deposit). Are you an audiophile? Let the premium Bose sound system fill the room with perfection after you sync your bluetooth device to the Sherwood stereo receiver (capable of sending music to living room, sunroom or both).

Dining Room
The large dining room table accommodates 6 people. It provides plenty of space for family meals, puzzles and the occasional intense game of Monopoly that never ends well (you know what Iā€™m talking about).

Long Weekend Stay

We had a lovely time and enjoyed the water views. Some things I would fix would be to add some safety mats or strips in the bottom of the tub to aid those older folks. Also, could use some freshening up of furnishings/carpet. Place was quiet and location good.

Quiet Area

We rented this home for Memorial Day weekend and to celebrate my husbandā€™s birthday. Tom was very responsive and quick to address any issues. This is an older home and community and it is very quiet, which we loved. The neighbors seemed friendly. We were surprised at how close it is to Ocean City, where we went fishing, and Assateague State Park, where we saw a few of the wild horses and sat on the beach. Stores and restaurants are also close by. We brought breakfast items to prepare and the kitchen was well appointed. There was an issue with the back sunroom area, and we were unable to use it, but it should be resolved for the next renter. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Chose another place to stay

The two positive things were that the owner was very responsive and check-in process was easy. Other than this, we were not pleased with the property. The property was older than expected and the pictures were misleading. The property was also not cleaned properly. The carpet needed cleaning, bed liners werenā€™t clean, there was old used soap left in master bathroom from prior occupants, shower curtain liner in master bedroom was filthy (should have been changed before new guests arrived), closet outside with beach cart and other items was so filled with spider webs and bugs that we didnā€™t bother using anything. Items in that closet were also rusted. We didnā€™t touch or remove anything. The ceiling fan in the second room was not secured to the ceiling. It was hanging and I was concerned it would fall down with kids sleeping in the room. Recommend upgrading this property. Cabinets throughout were old and should be refaced. Carpet had lots of wrinkles in it and uneven spots in addition to not been clean throughout. Recommend replacing carpet. Furniture was a littler scratched up (one of the chairs in kitchen and table in dining area). We didnā€™t spend a lot of time in the house because we had a soccer tournament and because we were extremely uncomfortable with the condition of the property and things being unsanitary.

Great family vacation

I stayed here with my husband and two children, ages 5 and 6. We had a blast and loved the unit. The pool was wonderful, the unit was close to the beach and the home itself was clean and perfect for a family. We would love to come back next year!

Great week at the beach!

We've been renting in this condo community every summer for over 10 years, we love the community. This unit is located in a sweet spot, far enough from the road that you don't hear road noise, close to the pool but not too close, and steps from the dock on the lake. Our kids enjoyed fishing on the dock every day, catching white perch, eel, crabs and I'm not sure what else. The unit is well equipped with pretty much anything you could need in the kitchen, lots of games, extra pillows and blankets, and the owner is very responsive. I gave 4 stars for cleanliness because there were A LOT of dead bugs in the sunroom when we arrived but that wasn't necessarily offputting considering the space. Also when hunting for an outlet I discovered what appeared to be a lot of pet hair on the floor behind the living room sectional. I have allergies and was a little sneezy the first few days we were there, but seemed to acclimate after 3ish days, so the hair behind the couch made sense. Again not offputting but a little surprising because otherwise the unit was really clean. The mattress in the Master was really stiff, hopefully they get a new one soon. The mattresses in the other bedroom were all reported comfortable by my kids and Mom. We would definitely stay here again.

Everything you need in one neighborhood

We had a very relaxing week. This is the perfect area for a layed back vacation. It's a peaceful and quiet place. The home was perfect for a family. The kitchen was well appointed and the dining room table and sun room table were perfect for board games and puzzles. The pictures are 100% accurate! Everyone we met was very friendly. We were able to enjoy one of the pools and Ginny, the pool supervisor. was so friendly. We wished we had met her earler!

Neighbors called state police said i was sleep in my car i was outside in my car talking to my family that was renting in bayville shores at 5 pm i was totally offended i have been renting there for 30 years sometimes 3 or 5 propertyā€™s at one time we do our family vacation in oc and fenwick island every year we this was a first for me officer say ms it was the neighbors forgive me enjoy your vacation

The Mallards

This was our second visit to this property. The home is very comfortable and owner is very attentive to your needs. The kitchen has all your needs for a dinner evening in. The pool is right there as well as tennis. Excellent for families. Quiet, inviting neighborhood.

Great little getaway!

This was a great house! My husband and I brought our two kids (3.5 and 1.5 yrs old) and it was a great spot! If you have kids this is the place for you! The grounds are great for walking/scooters and the playgrounds are right outside! The huge toy bin in the sunroom was a HIT (and an added bonus)! A very short drive to the beach and fun activities! Tom was very responsive and pleasant to work with!

Good vacation

Great stay, everything as promised except for one thing. Listing said it had an ice maker but only had 2 plastic ice trays!!! Not too good in hot weather, had to buy ice almost everyday! Owner was available for any questions, dryer made a lot of noise but he said ok to use. All in all good vacation, will stay in Mallard Lakes again.
