if you plan to visit stingray city, then. I'd suggest staying at this property. super convenient, super nice staff, reasonably priced and good food.

This was a mistake. Wont return. No service whatsoever on Christmas day. Not even a bottle of water was offered and they fully well knew that a guest was arriving as they left the door open with keys Inside. Nothing was open in the area nor was the cafe open. It was christmas day, what a way to share a happy cheerful welcome. The bathroom had nothing in it but toilet paper and liquid hand soap. The shower glass wall had a massive crack and someone thought it was smart to use paint and draw over the crack in a shameful attempt to hide this.

We do apologize as it was a last minute booking. Staff finished their shift and went home to enjoy their Christmas holiday with family. You checked in later than anticipated and there was no communication with your arrival time. When we received a message from you, you requested the WiFi password and nothing further. The island was closed due to the holiday, which I'm sure you would understand as this holiday is standard across most countries.

Too distant and disconnected for me.
The place is remote and nestled within what appears to be a residential area. Without maps, it would be difficult to find. There was no one at the office upon arrival. No instructions were provided on what to do to check in. I had to ask a neighbor to contact the number on the door. We waited for someone to show up. Wifi was weak. Room was clean and tidy.

Booking in on arrival was slow. We were not expected despite notifying them of our arrival time. Demand was made for payment even though we had paid one month before when booking. No apology when they discovered our payment. All-day breakfast turned out to be just sausage and egg even though we had ordered mushrooms and baked beans as well..! The worst breakfast we have encountered on our holiday so far - sloppy and broken eggs. No restaurant service available in the evening. Poor water pressure in the shower. Dirty windows. Nowhere to hang wet towels and swimming costumes. Woken up during the night by the noise of the water-pump situated behind our room. Nicely lit terrace area in the evenings. Overall we would NOT recommend this property.

Coût des repas plutôt élevés. Déjeuner continental "inclus" mais en 7 nuitées, je lai eu 3 fois. 2 matins il y avait rien et les 2 autres On m'a fait part que le dejeuner d'aujourd'hui était des oeufs/ bacon ou "french toasts "... Pour ensuite me les faire payer lors du check out.. C'est un peu insultant entre choisir de ne pas manger ou payer ce qui devait être inclus... Confort de la chambre correct Par contre, il pourrait y avoir une 2e couverture plutôt que juste un drap, ça serait un gros plus! :-) Ménage de la chambre minimum, sans que ce soit un ménage complet quotidien, il serait bien de passer aux 2 ou 3 jours pour vider les poubelles et changer les serviettes. (suggestion) plutôt que de passer après 5 jours. sinon, emplacement loin de tout mais tranquille et agréable, Wifi performant, espaces de stationnement suffisant lors de mon passage, cuisinier sympatique. Chambre suffisamment grande et quand même en bon état pour une période post-pandémique où l'absence de touriste à dû affecté durant plus de 2 ans.

We arrived early and the owner had a terrible attitude towards us, we felt like we were an annoying part to her day, she was not friendly in any sense of greeting her customers, once we got settled in our room we noticed lots of spiders and ants and nats were very bad in the restroom, the shower had no hot water and very poor water pressure and we did try to contact the owner but she was never around for us to talk to so we decided to move to a different hotel we tried 3 separate times to contact the owner and to no avail she just was never around and when we tried to check out she had rented out the room while we still had paid for the room and had a key to that room and she never even let us know. In general it was a terrible experience and very unfriendly and that fact she just gives the room key to one customer and gives another set to another customer is a accident waiting to happen but if you are looking for just a bed and plan on being gone most of your day I wish you the best of luck with your stay here.

Good day Tiffaney, my apologies. Sorry to hear that you had a bad experience. Unfortunately the Ants and Spiders situation is unexpected as we do not have Ants and Spiders in our rooms we always ensure that rooms are sprayed of bugs, Also is such is the case why did you not leave the room right after you checked in. Instead you slept and left unknowingly to the manager, the housekeeper knocked a couple of times on your door and got no answer. Now if you left the room without handing over the key obviously you will be charged, and yes we will sell the room as you left no belongs behind indicating that you still have that room. As for the hot water we always have hot water, the water pressure is not controlled by us, that is a government issue. Again, we are very sorry and I wish we could some day make your experience a better one.

Bathroom shower glass was broken and it was decorated to look like art. Very week and low water pressure. Unable to wash hands in bathroom sink. Used shower to clean hands. Television did not work but was told it was brand new. Air conditioner went out on first night. Called mgmt who came promptly (KUDOS). Was told AC unit was new. MGMT rubbed batteries which turned on AC unit for room. Provided two fans to room in case the AC unit went out again. Loved the outdoor space but at night the bugs is a bit much. Would be nice to have netting outside since there wasn’t much to do in room while my children slept

Nothing fancy but peaceful.
I wanted a quiet out of the hustle and bustle place to stay and got exactly that. Seatons village is a bit run down with a shop and restaurant/take away/bar 5 mins walk from the Ellen Bay Inn. There was no cafe/restaurant facility at the Inn at the time I was there, although the kitchen and room for it are there. A car is a must to get anywhere, once I had a car I was out and about every day, exploring the island and the beaches and several attractions. Stingray City and the giant tortoise island are a couple of minutes walk from the Ellen Bay Inn and Betties Hope plantation museum a 5 minute drive. The nearest and really nice beach is at Long Bay about 10 minutes drive away, through Willikies Village. The ice cream shop in Willikies on the way to the beach is worth a stop. There is a great Italian restaurant at the beach and a drink/ice cream kiosk and some little beach front market huts…. Also selling beer and snacks and soft drinks. They do boat trips from Long Bay too and you can hire a kayak type boat. Breakfast at Ellen Bay Inn was very basic and simple with limited choice, if any , on some days. The room was clean and tidy with a decent bathroom a fridge and Roku internet TV, where you can sign in to the likes of Amazon Prime and Netflix and Disney. There was free WiFi, which was good enough for what I needed. The bed was OK. although there was no chair in the room. Aircon is included, a little noisy though.. Got what I paid for. I relaxed for the week.

As a result of CV19 there are many day to day challenges that we had to face over the pass 2 yrs. Our daily operation and staff has been cut in half posing further difficulties. We are glad that you enjoyed yourself overall. We do hope to see you again soon.

Great stay
Ellen's is a great place if you are looking to escape the hustle of the city. It's clean, comfortable all rooms have a great view of the ocean, the kitchen has plenty of food options. Let them arrange a rid from the airport and you will save about $15 each way. Would definitely stay again!

Older building that I believe was wrongly advertised as newer . Had to cancel due to conflicting(the booking agent was helpful) schedules and didn't get a full refund for 3 of 7 days. I wouldn't book with Expedia again or will l return to Ellen's bay.

Sorry you felt that way. The building that is advertised is the actual building. As you might have noticed the new building is White. Our prices are fairly low as we are an Inn and not an all inclusive hotel. We find that individuals often times rush to book and forget to book within their comfort zone,,,which may actually cost more. Happy booking in the future.

AVOID AT ALL COST
This is not a hotel. Rather scam! Arrived on Dec 25. Hotel room didn't have soap. Hotel manager told me that I should suppose to be traveling with soap. Washed myself in the gasoline station. No soap the next day. Moved out after the 48 hrs. Hotel manager was very confrontational, calling names (told me - what idiot travels without a soap). She has no empathy to a tourist that traveled 20 hrs, and just asks for a soap in the island where absolutely everything is closed on the Christmas day.

Having this guest, Karl Riauba, was quite unpleasant for us and our other guests. His actions and tone lead us to calling the police, calling the booking company and asking him to leave. It's disappointing that he felt the need to leave a review following his actions. Karl left animal faeces (poop) on the floor of the room in which he occupied for that short time. Other guests on property had to be involved with seeing this disgusting sight. His action and behavior were questionable and disappointing. We sent a tape recording of our findings in the room to the booking partner, along with pictures of the said guest. I do hope he doesn't behave in the same manner to other property owners. Unfortunate situation, however, we must move on. We will be asking for this biased review to be removed.

This place it's all about the hostess, she is very friendly and accommodating. She makes you feel more like you're visiting family or friend rather than just staying in a guesthouse.

Very friendly staff. Owner Sharon is an excellent cook. Louis drove me around and took me to several places including Nelson Port and beaches. Sharon also provided a good discount to nearby Stingray City. Had a wonderful time.
