Seaside House, ideally located on the edge of the coastal village of Seahouses

Seaside House, which has recently been redecorated and refurbished (Feb 2022) and named in "Trip Advisor's top 10 holiday rentals to stay in Northumberland" (September 2020) is ideally located on the outskirts of Seahouses. Recently updated and refurbished, this tastefully decorated property benefits from a peaceful location, yet within walking distance of the harbour, beaches, golf club, and the village with it's many pubs, restaurants and shops. At Seahouses you are literally surrounded by stunning scenery and spoilt for choice for things to do and places to visit. The Farne Islands can be reached by regular boat trips from the harbour. The stunning Bamburgh castle and it's beautiful beach is only 3 mile away, and the historic market town of Alnwick, with it's majestic gardens and castle (used in many movies including Harry Potter), is only a short drive. The heritage coastline is dotted with more castles, beautiful beaches and fishing villages, as well as Holy Island.
The Cheviot Hills and Northumberland National park are close by, as well as the border towns of Berwick and Coldstream. Newcastle and Edinburgh are also easily accessible. Seaside House is an ideal property to stay, with it's sleeping flexibility, 2 bathrooms upstairs and cloakroom downstairs. Changeover day is Saturday. Arrival time after 3pm. Departure time 10am.

Due to Covid-19 we are undertaking extra cleaning and sanitizing at the property.

We will continue to supply bedding to all beds required, but we now kindly request guests to strip all bedding at the end of their stay, and place into Wash Bags provided.

We also continue to supply all towels, including t.towels.

We do allow guests to bring their own bedding/towels if they wish ..but must communicate this to us, when they book or before arrival date.

We are planning a refurbishment during this winter (2021). From 2022 2nd bedroom maybe 2 single beds

Very enjoyable stay

We enjoy walking and bird watching - this was a brilliant base, comfortable and well equipped property, with helpful neighbours and quick responses from Russell with any queries. An easy walk to shops, boats to Farne Islands as well as the beach.

Excellent base for exploring the area

The house was lovely- very clean and well-equipped. Canā€™t think of anything else we would need! It was an easy stroll to the harbour and the amenities of Seahouses along the coastal path - the sea is literally at the end of the road! A great location for exploring the area - so much to do that we didnā€™t fit it all in and we were there a week! Good excuse to go back. Communication with Russell was excellent right from the time of booking. He even took the trouble to send some information about birdwatching sites when I mentioned that was an interest of my husband! Thank you so much Russell! We will definitely return!

Lovely cottage in a quiet location just a few minutes walk from the sea and the amenities of Seahouses. Everything you needed to self cater was there. Great base to explore the area from, and only a short distance from the fabulous Bamburgh beach and castle.

Stayed here over the Christmas week, the property is in an ideal location close to Seahouses centre and easy access at end of the road to the waterfront.There is reserved parking for two cars.The property is well equipped and comfortable and warm.

Great house and location

The house contained everything we needed including parking x2 spaces. Exactly as expected from the info on the website. Would have liked an initial acknowledgement from the owner. The design of the dining table legs made it difficult for 3 adults to sit at without moving the sofa. Cleaning could be better - dust on doors, pictures and under the coffee table. The neighbours budgies chirped from 5am.

Ein wunderbarer Urlaub in Northumberland

Wir hatten einen wunderschƶnen und erholsamen Urlaub in Northumberland. Das Ferienhaus war sehr gut ausgestattet, wir haben nichts vermisst. Es befindet sich in einem ruhigen Wohnviertel unweit der Nordsee und hat sehr freundliche Nachbarn. Der Kontakt mit dem EigentĆ¼mer war unkompliziert, zu Beginn unseres Aufenthaltes bekamen wir sogar ein paar sehr nahrhafte Willkommensgeschenke. Seahouses ist ein Ferienort in dem hauptsƤchlich Briten Urlaub machen. Es liegt sehr verkehrsgĆ¼nstig an der NordseekĆ¼ste von Northumberland. Von hier aus ist es nicht weit nach Edinburgh (rd. zweieinhalb Stunden Fahrt) oder nach Newcastle upon Tyne (rd. eineinhalb Stunden Fahrt). Aber auch in der nƤheren Umgebung befinden sich mit Alnwick oder Berwick-upon-Tweed interessante Orte, die man gut besuchen kann. Da wir Mitglied im National Trust sind, konnten wir diverse Orte wie Lindisfarne-Castle auf Holy Island (bei Flut eine Insel, bei Ebbe mit dem Auto erreichbar), Dunstanburgh-Castle bei Alnwick, Cragside oder Wallington, beide bei Morpeth kostenfrei besichtigen. Ein unbedingtes Muss ist ein Besuch des Bamburgh-Castle, welches allerdings nicht vom National Trust betrieben wird. Von Seahouses aus kann man auch diverse Bootstouren u.a. zu den Farne-Islands (ein Vogelparadis) oder zu Holy Islands machen.

The property is in a great location, the facilities are great, it's short of nothing. Russel (owner) was easy to contact and Ray (maintenance) was pleasant and efficient. The only negative I found was the TV was rather dated with poor sound quality. My mother is hard of hearing and there was no option to add subtitles. I know that may sound picky but if there a bad weather day you need some entertainment in the property. I'd just ask Russel to update that and it's 100%.

Beautiful house by the sea

The photos don't do it justice, this is a lovely spacious spotless cottage with everything you need to have a relaxing holiday. Quiet location within a few minutes walk to the beach and into Seahouses. Russell was so helpful and answered any questions we had promptly. We were welcomed with some very generous welcome gifts! Lovely neighbours too who helped us locate the keybox on arrival. We really fell in love with the place can highly recommend. We certainly hope to be back in the future.

Seaside House

We stayed week commencing 22nd July 2023. The facilities at the house were very well suited to our requirements. It is a short walk from the harbour and the supermarket. We came across a playpark in the local estate (on the side of the petrol station). The children enjoyed the rock pools and the local beaches. Bamburgh Castle is a short drive away and there is a lovely park area close by. We did the Holy Island boat trip which was well worth the price we paid. The neighbours are friendly and very helpful. Oh and free parking is designated for the house.

Welcoming house near the sea

Het was heel fijn, er lagen verschillende lekkere dingen klaar als welkomstpakket, leuke inrichting, schoon, het ontbrak ons aan niets. Het huis lag op paar honderd meter van de kliffenkust waarlangs je naar dorp en haven kon lopen, schone zeelucht, veel moois te zien in de buurt, niet dichtbevolkt, de Engelsen zijn vriendelijk en meestal in voor een praatje. Zo ook Ray en Val, de buren die het huis beheren. Kortom: we kunnen het iedereen aanbevelen!

This property is fantastic ,very handy to walk into Seahouse itself for shops and restaurants . Beach at bottom of the street . Very quiet situation ,on outskirts of village and great having parking for two cars . Cosy and welcoming house and well equipped for a great stay . Welcome pack a nice touch too .
