551 Tarpon Pond
This awesome Tarpon Pond is in the perfect location. Nestled in lush tropical landscaping in the Tarpon Pond neighborhood, it offers wonderful views to the 17th fairway of Ocean Winds and the marsh beyond. Deer, shore birds, egrets... wildlife surrounds you. And yet, you and your guests are less than a mile away from Seabrook's beautiful beaches and top notch amenities - Beach Club pools, dining at the Pelican Nest or Island House, or golf on the two Seabrook golf courses.

Enter into the combined living/dining rooms. An open floor plan with cathedral ceilings help create a relaxing space for your family and friends to gather. The living room has an HDTV with cable/DVD, and a lovely fireplace. The living/dining room open into the sun room. A wall of windows overlooks the golf course and allow filtered sunlight to brighten the home. There is a table for four - a great place to enjoy a cool afternoon drink - a sofa and another TV that can be used for games, watch DVDs, and a VCR. The small deck has chairs for relaxing outdoors. The galley kitchen has Silestone countertops and newer appliances. It is fully equipped with everything you need. There is a gas grill for your use too. Linens and towels are provided (please bring your own beach towels).

There are 3 bedrooms and a loft which serves as the fourth bedroom. The master bedroom has a queen sized bed, lovely furnishings and an en suite bath with a shower. The 2nd bedroom has a queen sized bed and the third bedroom has a queen bed. These bedrooms share a hall bath with a tub/shower and large Silestone vanity. The loft serves as the 4th bedroom and it has two twin beds.

*Seabrook Island Property Association (SIPOA) has started charging for all gate passes.

Gate passes are $45/ vehicle. This charge applies if you are staying 1 night – 179 nights. If you are staying more than 179 nights, there is a different charge.
​​​​​​​MAXIMUM number of passenger vehicles which may be parked during the overnight hours of 11 pm-7am, which require a gate pass: 3
The first gate pass is included in your stay. You must call our office if you require more than one gate pass

LSV (Low Speed Vehicle) RENTALS PERMITTED at this property. An LSV requires the use of one of the gate passes included in the maximum number of vehicles passes.
Requirements for LSVs
Must be registered and insured, have a 17-digit VIN and display an LSV license plate, display a valid SIPOA entry pass issued specifically to that vehicle. Drivers must have a valid driver's license. No off-road tires allowed
Usage Restrictions:
For street use only. No use on bicycle paths, walking paths, golf course cart paths, boardwalks, or beaches. Follow SIPOA vehicle and parking rules.
Safety Requirements: SC seat belt laws apply to all occupants. Child seats are a must. SIPOA officers and CCSO will stop vehicles with unsecured children

Pets are NOT allowed

Amenity access, allowing you access to the Seabrook Island Club amenities, is included in this rental. The digital QR access is set up through the Seabrook Island Club, and gives you access to the Beach Club oceanfront pools (seasonal), Pelican's Nest outdoor restaurant/bar (seasonal), Island House restaurant/bar, golf and tennis. Additional fees are charged for all activities, except outdoor pool usage. The Club Amenity access also allows access to the Lake House facilities (outdoor pool: no fees / indoor pool + fitness center: fees apply).

551 Tarpon Pond is a great cottage in a great location! It is a wonderful home to spend your vacation time with your family and friends!

Catching up with family

We like Seabrook because there is something for everyone. The Tarpon Pond 551 had a lovely view of the 17th Fairway. The porch room was our favorite gathering space for playing competitive board games at night. It got a bit noisy for the person attempting to sleep in the loft area however. The galley kitchen is adequate, but we really enjoy eating at the Pelican’s Nest. Delicious! Thank you for sharing your home to reunite and recreate with family!

Lovely getaway!

We had never been to Seabrook Island and didn’t realize how remote and also lovely it is. I think the combo of residents and renters keeps the feel of the island unique to Other beach locations. Loved the larger stretches of beach, especially at low tide! It was wonderful to have a couple bikes to use as we hadn’t brought ours. It was never a problem to find parking foe the beaches either, which was nice. Lovely, relaxing family time!

Moldcation

Unfortunately, when we first arrived the house had a strong odor of mold. After looking around, we could see mold in the registers, inside the bar door, behind the closet doors and under the furniture. There was also a leak at the master toilet with mold. Three out of five of us started having symptoms right away, like tearing eyes and a headache. After reporting it, we were lucky enough to have the Property Manager switch us to another house for 4 nights. We were hopeful that they could clean up the mold. It never got done so we had to move the rest of the stuff out of this house and the new place again for the last 3 nights. We ended up in ocean front/view properties so it wasn't so bad, but much more of our vacation was centered around moving and mold discussions than we would have preferred. The last condo had mold too but not as much! We just cleaned as much off as we could off the furniture. Never had so many mold incidents on a vacation!

Quiet small home 15’ walking to beach

Simple vacation home 0.8 miles from the beach, and under magnificent old oak trees. 4 kids beds (mattresses may not be perfect for adults) and 2 queens. Three old bikes available (missing tool kit though). Good place for relaxing days at the beach. Seabrook is an outstanding island, and waters rich in wildlife.

Great house!

We really enjoyed our stay. The house was nicely decorated and very clean. Beds were comfortable. My only complaint is that there was only one functioning beach chair.

Wonderful cottage except our little friends :/

The cottage is beautifully decorated! It’s the perfect size for a small family. Unfortunately, in the four nights we stayed we had 5 LARGE roaches!!! One of my friends left because she didn’t feel comfortable having her baby there. However, I called property management and they had someone out to spray within a few hours! We never saw another one.

Combined family vacation

My parents and nephew joined us for our annual trip to Seabrook Island this year. The Tarpon Pond cottage was beautifully decorated and got the seven of us with plenty of room for all. The location and view were wonderful as well, but the real gem is the inclusion of the amenity cards. It was fantastic to be able to access the Island Club pool, restaurants, and beach access each day. You really didn't even need to leave the island! It was a fantastic vacation!

Wonderful reunion with family and friends

We really enjoyed the stay at this home! We had friends and family coming and going, each which required a gate pass to get on the island. One friend did not have a pass so the gate agent give me a call and I gave a verbal confirmation-- they were very accommodating. Loved the free bikes included! Someone rode a bike almost every day while we were there. Very charming place.

Great Stay!

This was perfect for our family vacation for 5 people (3 adults and 2 boys - ages 6 and 9). There was plenty of room... the beds in the loft went unused. The glassed-in sun room with the additional TV allowed the boys to watch something while the adults watched something else and turned into a great play space for them. The washer and dryer, once we found them under the house :) seemed new and were full sized (different than other homes we have rented). With little kids this was a huge plus! We also made use of the bikes as well, which I don't recall seeing on the description, so that was a nice surprise. They were older but worked for our needs to get to and from the beach for morning runs/walks. This was our 4th year in Seabrook and our 2nd year renting a Tarpon Cottage... love their layout and plenty of space.
