Located off of Gordon Lane, this historic brick carriage house sits in the tree-lined residential area of the downtown historic district. You won't compromise location, as this property is only one block from the Fountain at Forsyth Park. Whether booking for a couples getaway, or an extended stay, you'll enjoy your stay at Birds Nest Carriage House.

Upon entering you are greeted by a charming, spiral, wrought iron staircase that leads to the studio. Up-top you will find the unit to be packed with amenities, such as a stove top, fridge, large bathroom, and two spacious closets. You'll feel at home here with a spot to store all your luggage, and a lovely renovated bathroom with a spacious shower A Queen size bed sits in the middle of the room, with a smart TV at the foot of the bed for you to enjoy after exploring the city all day.

Guests are also able to enjoy the private tree-lined courtyard, shared with the garden-level tenants. Due North you'll come across many of Savannah's local shops, cafes, and eateries.

What is parking like for this home?
Parking for this home is on-street and metered, which is enforced by the City of Savannah Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm.

We can welcome your dog companions at this pet friendly home, but ask that you find other arrangements for cats, birds, and other furry friends. There is a $130 pet fee (non-refundable) with a 35 lb. maximum weight limit per dog and a limit of 2 dogs per reservation. Some homes may allow larger dogs, please inquire for more information.

I lobed how this property was so close to everything. The space was clean, decorated retro like. Very comfortable bed and it had all the necessary features you’ll need to make your stay comfortable. One con I would say is the stairs. But other than that it was perfect!

Sweet Quiet and Convenient
Nice little studio that is very close to everything. We would have walked everywhere, except it was awfully hot. Instead we took the free Purple Dot Express from the stop at the end of the street. Since we arrived by bicycle, it was so nice to have a spot to have them safe and secure. Thank you so much for having us.

Quaint but Comfortable
Very clean and comfy. Everything you need if you are low maintenance. Bit of an odd entrance. Have to go through back alley and up some very old and small stairs. Did not hang out in courtyard because it is shared with neighbors and there were shirtless guys hanging out there. Other than that, an enjoyable stay. Close to parks and shops. Comfy bed, good water pressure in shower. Small fridge and freezer supplied as well as an oven and cooking utensils. Additional gate locks for safety. Once we figured out where it was located, everything went well.

Great weekend stay just off the beaten path.
Perfect location. Walkable to many sites and restaurants. Perfect size. Close to DOT shuttle for transportation in town We would stay here again. Felt safe. Only issue is no defined parking

Great location, but place was meh
Pros: Being close to Forsyth Park, Collins Quarter nearby with great breakfast, beautiful neighborhood. Cons: Shower was extremely dirty and clearly hadn't been wiped down between stays - there was a big gross brown stain that washed halfway when the shower water hit it, indicating no one had even tried to clean it. We logged on to use the smart TV and under the Netflix profiles was a profile with the name 'J*zz Master' which was gross/creepy. Also, there was an extremely unsettling painting of a man staring at you that you face when coming out of the shower and above the toilet. The place was cheap for the location, so I guess my expectations shouldn't have been too high, but we will definitely be staying in a hotel for our next visit. Also, why did no one tell me that all of these 'renovated' carriage houses were likely former slave quarters?? We learned that on a historical ghost tour and it rubbed me the wrong way, to say the least.

Wonderful unit in a very quiet neighborhood. Close to everything. A few small items: Door lock to main unit was testy. Had to try it a few times to get it to open. Front door to property lock was fine. It would be nice if there was a light in the pantry area.

Cozy getaway
Room is just as pictured. Property was walking distance to the lively downtown area and a block from Forsyth Park. The nearby courtyard made it feel very romantic. Entrance was through a secluded back alley and 2 locked doors between the unit and the world. Felt very safe, not sketch at all. Access is only via a winding staircase so I don't recommend booking this if you're bringing large luggage or have accessibility issues. Management was quick to respond and easy to communicate with. Would book again!

I do not recommend this property. The entrance is on an ally full of dumpsters. The treacherous indoor stairs to it are a narrow winding staircase that is not friendly to anything larger than a carry-on. There were ants on the wall above the kitchen sink.

Great location, not bad for a studio rental. Entrance is from an alleyway which is not ideal, and parking was all on street, or garage - so those costs need to be considered when comparing this to other rentals in the area. Property owner was very professional and communicated well

The Carriage House is beautiful! I love the all white interior. The location is perfect.It’s off of Whitaker Street and it’s close to Forsyth Park. Savannah Coffee Roasters is only a couple blocks away. My husband and I can’t wait to go back!

Great little place. Perfect for a couples getaway weekend.
All my interactions with the manager we're great. We only had one little hiccup. We asked for a late checkout at the last minute....The night before we were to leave. I guess they didn't get that info to the cleaning crew on time. The cleaners walked right in on my husband and I as we were getting ready for the day. Both them and we had heart attacks. I'm sure the miscommunication happened because we were so late in getting that late checkout, it's probably our bad. Other than that we loved our time in Savannah.

Fabulous!!!
This was my daughter and my first time to Savannah. The Bird Carriage house was the best place we ever could have picked. Perfect location, the outside patio is beautiful, was my favorite place to have coffe in the morning. The owners were wonderful and Lucky Savannah was a great contact!! They helped us even with getting off Tybee island when no cabs were available AND helped flowers get delivered!! I highly recommend it. You won’t be disappointed!!!!

Great location and stay!
Really enjoyed our stay here, the location was perfectly distanced from crowded downtown but still walking distance. The property management was very helpful with an early check in and keypad access issues. The neighbors across the street were so friendly and kind! Overall really happy here and would definitely stay again. Only wish is that there was a light at the bottom of the steps, definitely have your flashlights ready!

Charming and Convenient
Essentially a studio apartment, this property is loaded with character and is conveniently located. The space felt relaxing and I looked forward to returning after a long day of walking. The space was comfortable- excellent air conditioning. The kitchen was super convenient and tidy. We truly loved this space and would consider staying again if we return. I did, however, have a couple of concerns. First, the staircase is perilous. If you have any mobility concerns or lots of luggage, I would avoid this property. Second, there were lots of bugs - small ants and gnats everywhere- ESPECIALLY in the kitchen. Living in an old house myself, I know it is normal to have some bugs, but this was excessive. Third, sleeping was difficult. The mattress is VERY firm, light filters in from the lights in the alley, and the walls are paper thin - letting in every little sound. Having a box fan for white noise would be very helpful. If you are a light sleeper, this place is not for you. Fourth, at no point during our stay were we able to access WIFI. I contacted the hospitality company. They provided prompt and polite support, but were unable to rectify the issue. The smart TV was not connected either, so we were unable to access any of our streaming services. Inconvenient, but not a huge deal as we spent a minimal amount of time in the room. Finally, we spent several days in the room and accumulated some trash. Directions were unclear as to what to do with this trash. Additional garbage bags were not provided, and we ended up using shopping bags and disposing of some of the smelly trash in public receptacles to get it out of the room.

The neighborhood was quaint and parking was easy. Close to the Historic District! The spiral staircase took a minute to navigate; still beautiful! The upholstered chairs were caved in and not comfortable. Worse, upon entry, the entire property smelled of dog urine. The bed skirt had urine stains ALL around the end of the bed. Disgusting. The smell permeated the entire studio.

Stay was great, smaller than we thought but still perfect for us. It was clean and super cute. The only downfall is that over the stay we had a couple baby cockroaches in the bathroom (have pics of them) and a couple tiny bugs by the nightstand. The first we didn't really think about but after the second on the last night we texted the number from the hospitality app and nothing ever came of it.

Nice stay!
Great location! Walked everywhere. Very clean, simple apartment that met my needs. Some of the furnishings are a little tired and could use some updates. Overall worked out well.
